Jo - As Jen said - "Girl Power!" Congrats on beating David. I bet he can't stand it. When the kids and I play games, I always high five dd and we say "Girl Power" if I am winning or she is (well, she thinks she is playing, but she isn't and she always claims to win.)
Hilarious, teach them young :rotfl2:

DD had her first dance class today. She cried the entire time and would not let me leave the room. The moms are not supposed to be in the room. This was their 2nd class, but we were out of town last week, so she missed the first one. Immediately after the class she told me she didn't want to do dance classes anymore. I told her too bad because I have already paid for it. Anyway, I reminded her towards the end she seemed to be having a little fun. She just told me that she will go next week and I can sit in the chair in the hall.

DD's friend is in the same class and her mom told me last week she had no problems. Well, when my dd started crying, she started crying and refused to do the class. She wouldn't even stay in there if her mom stayed with her. I felt bad.
Oh no, I'm sure she'll be OK, I always made my girls do stuff if I'd paid for it!

I'm home sick today !! I have what everyone else in the house has had ! Feel like carp!!Slept most of the day but had to get up and do some Dissing Supper is in the crockpot so will fix noodles later I got the recipe off the dis !!
Get well soon Rosie

But, my highlights in some areas are almost blond (dirty) in some parts!

Me loooooooooves!!!
Can't wait to see a photo!

We have the boys' open house at school from 8:00 to 8:45 a.m Thursday. Strikes me as a weird time, and we're supposed to take them rather them taking the bus. They are mad. :rotfl:
That is a weird time :confused3 And it sounds quite good news about your Grandpa

I just had a phone call from a golfing friend who organises all the competitions, I'm playing in a competition with another lady and we have to play 2 other ladies, well we have to organise a day to play and my partner works so can only play Thursdays and Fridays and the 2 other ladies are both going on holidays so the days are restricted. Well I left a message that we could play on a certain date that they had given us but they phoned the organiser to moan we couldn't play :confused3 Women hey :headache: :rotfl2:

Hey all... I am back :) and finally awake... we got in at about 1:30 this morning...

Sure! PM me if you want to talk and I'll send you my e-mail. :goodvibes

I just lost a big long reply. :headache:

So I'll just say I read everything, and hugs to everyone and glad there's good news from Jodi.

My morning was crazy busy, my afternoon not so much so, but I didn't even get on the computer. The septic guy was supposed to come suck up the nasty today, but he just now showed up.

The boys have a playdate just around the block. I'm going to get them at 5:00. :thumbsup2

D gets home at 2:00 tomorrow morning/tonight, however you want to look at it. He leaves Thursday afternoon. We have the boys' open house at school from 8:00 to 8:45 a.m Thursday. Strikes me as a weird time, and we're supposed to take them rather them taking the bus. They are mad. :rotfl:

They think they're going to move my grandpa back to rehab - nothing much more has happened and his hemoglobin level is back to normal. Mom said she and grandma did have a conversation yesterday that he might not come home again, but grandma wasn't too freaked about it (she's medicated for paranoid depression, so we always worry about her reactions...)

Sigh.

Anyway, I'll be back!
 Hugs for dealing with everything.

Jodi got done with her surgery around 11:30 AM. They took out "Junior" which was the size of a baby head, and took off a cyst off the other ovary. The other ovary was perfectly intact and functioning and both cysts were benign. She's still in recovery now but will be in her room within the hour. Thanks for your prayers, good wishes, as they're all appreciated. -- DH Eric

I'm sorry I haven't checked in all morning, it's been crazy.

But I just received this text from Eric:
Jodi out of surgery, all benign. Took one ovary and removed cyst from the other.

So, it looks like the best possible outcome.
:yay: :yay: :yay:
 So glad everything went well

Good morning all. Took Jimmy to school for his second day. We got there and his friend Matt got there at the same time. We go into the room, put his lunch and snack away, hang up his backpack and he give me a hug a kis, say's I'll miss you mom - Bye. Guess he is over his nervousness:rolleyes:
glad he is doing well:thumbsup2

:scared1: Thanks to a tip on the Resorts Codes & Rates board, I checked Hotels.com for Oct. rates at WDW resorts... and found ASSp for $59/night!

As compared to the AP rate (which isn't a discount at all) of $165!!!

Should I book it?!?!
YES!!!!!

Holy hair dye batman!!!

Me too! They said it we are on the front northeast side of the storm we could see 100+ mph winds! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
As of the news last night almost all the spaghetti models said it's headed here on Friday/Saturday.
We could use the rain, but not all that wind or flooding. :guilty:

 Stay safe!!!

Hi, Theresa, we had big storms, too. Catch up when you can!

 Good news about your grandpa and that your grandma handled it well.

Thanks. I'm glad she's accepting that he'll probably end up in a care facility.

Well the kids and I are outa here to head to my grandma's for dinner. Hope y'all have a good night! :)

Have fun!

Glad to hear Jodi is doing well!

I've been working each day--off tomorrow so may get to DIS and clean (and grocery shop) a bit!

Trying to catch up on everyone's TR

CE--will they move him to a skilled facility, intermediate care, or assisted living?

CE--will they move him to a skilled facility, intermediate care, or assisted living?

Well, the local place in their hometown (and trust me, we're lucky it's there for a town of 1100) is considered a "nursing home" which I feel is pretty much the total skilled care, right? It's definitely not apartment type assisted living. And that's where he prefers to go if he has to.

But they will keep him on the rehab floor within the hospital if he "continues to progress" as they know he won't get as much rehab in the nursing home.

But as my mom says, they're working on getting him stronger, but we're not sure for what, and she also reminded her mom that at some point she (grandma) will have to let him know it's OK if he's just too worn out to go on. Mom has expressed that to him, but Nan hasn't. :sad2: It's just sad all around.

Angela - I am so jealous that you can just go to the motherland whenever you want!!!!!

Well, we went to FF but hadn't been there since Mother's Day. Today was supposed to be a 4, and when we first got there, around 9.00 it was. About 11.00, not so much. Rode Toy Story 3 times! :cool1: Only once with fast pass. Then we rode ToT 3 times. No fast pass needed! I love this time of year! It was hot but a little overcast and a breeze. Thanks Ike. :goodvibes Does that sound like I'm bragging? I don't mean too! ;)

Whatcha reading now????

I just finished Smoke Screen by Sandra Brown. :thumbsup2

That must've been tough! Think it's just being somewhere new?

I think you should just buy some more points.
:lmao: Me too, but my bank account disagrees. ;)

My feelings exactly. :headache:

Oh, no, just the regular every other year, suck the carp out of the tank maintenance. ;) I just really expected him sooner, but I didn't have to be home, so it was no big deal.

:rotfl: CE, it's like you're speaking a foreign language! The tank has to be emptied?! I always figured things just broke down and kind of disappeared in them.

Like I said earlier, we don't get out much. :rotfl2:

:rotfl: They do break down, but don't disappear, so you have a tank full of lovely sludge that has to get sucked out. I promise, I know more about it from Dirty Jobs than from our ownership experience. :rotfl2:

CE:  on the Grandpa issues. I hope he is comfortable wherever he lands. Your day sounds pretty good. I'm assuming the fridge was ok...

V: You crack me up! Bedbugs.....ewwwwwwwwwwww. :scared:
No, this is not a sign. You should ignore any sign that seems to say "LESS DISNEY" anyway...

0000000000000000000000000000000000

Ok, took both boys to ped. for annual exams. All healthy...well, sort of. Right? :sad2: But, the dr. did talk to SD about the panic issues and I think it really comforted him. He even sprung a "surprise" shot on them at the end, which I thought would get poor SD all worked up, and NOTHING!! He was cool. :woohoo:

So, we got take-out (UnBob is away) and then came home. They are watching Dirty Jobs right now. I am tucking everyone in at 9/930 and that's that! I'm SO tired. It's been a long long long day.

I never made it to the ding dang TR's today. :confused3 I was too busy running around. I did get alot done though. I can't wait to crawl into bed with a book tonight and relax. Tomorrow I have LOTS to do to prepare for the In-laws. YIKES. But, the sooner they come,
THE SOONER THEY CAN LEAVE.

MEL:rolleyes:

PS. I hope you are all doing great!!! Everybody good? Good!!!

Thanks. I have something I think I want to share, but it will take some explaining - about my grandpa, this is.

Oh, and I forgot. Yes, the freezer was all frozen this morning. I threw everything away and bought rather a lot of frozen foods today. :rotfl:

 Sometimes it's just good to get stuff done.

I now have two elections to follow, the American and the Canadian. The Prime Minister decided to call an election a few days ago so Canada heads to the polls in just five weeks, None of this long drawn out election stuff like you guys have. They just go straight to the mudslinging. :rotfl:

yes. I needed to get some things done....I've been so preoccupied.

Just a quick Hi! Between working and soccer/girl scouts we never sit still! Hope all the lovely Fockers are doing well.

OK. I need some advice on how to respond to this. I got an email today from my aunt. She's my mom's SisIL, married to mom's brother. Jerry, my mom's brother, is 58. They are the ones that moved to MO without selling their house that is a block away from my grandparents with all the issues. Neither of them have jobs, and they moved into my 30-year-old cousin's house.

Now, I know that my mom's view is NOT unskewed. But she is retired, where Aunt Linda & Uncle Jerry were not, so the bulk of the care of my grandparents has always fallen on my mom, even when they lived a block away. I know they helped, which is why my parents are so angry and confused by them moving away with this all going on - whilst not having jobs or a house or any money.

Here is my aunt's message, my edits are in black:
You know CE, we didn't know until yesterday that your mom wasn't supposed to drive. Just yesterday Nan mentioned it. We have been concerned also about your mom, but she just has a hard time hearing us as we have tried and tried to get her to see that this is a long haul with Shelton (my grandpa) and keeping a 24 watch isn't mentally or physically possible. Living so close to them, Jerry had been running over there 4 or 5 times a day for the last year and half, getting them dinners, doing the appliance thing, and tons of other things and truly it was becoming too much. They seemed to prefer just Jerry or Linda (just FYI, my mom is ALSO Linda, so she's talking about my mom here), so I worked, cooked for them sometimes and helped where I could. Jerry and I felt we needed more help over a year or more ago.

I have been trying to earn enough to keep us afloat so he could help with them these past several years, while he worked part-time. I am looking for full-time here, I need to work more, the school job just isn't enough. Jer's Dr's are here and I have been concerned about him also. The load has been heavy for a long time, that's for sure.

We are a lot closer to jobs here, and hoping to find work soon. Looking for jobs at our age is a lot of work! We are hoping the your mom will let Tally (Tally is the girl that has been the home helper for my grandparents for about a month) do more, because it seems hard for your mom to let go and accept help. We offered a year ago to sell our house and move in with Nan and Pa to care for them, but I don't think your mom thought that was a good idea, so we backed off. We are trying to hold our own also, and hopefully things will quiet down with Shelton for a spell. If he goes to a nursing home, close to home would help cutting down on all that running and gas. If he goes home(?) I would guess it would take 2 people to over see things. Jer and I have to work and it was becoming impossible for Jer to even focus on that or get rest. His parents called quite often during the middle of the night, during most dinners and he was on-call. It helps to have Shelton being cared for by others, but it hard to let go of his care to others, most likely that's what your mom is struggling with. Please let us know along the way how you think things are going as we do want to keep helping, but are at a loss as to what some of the solutions are. We love your mom, and hope and pray that some rest will be coming. We are trying to build ourselves up also to make it for the long haul. Thanks for writing, we love you and will keep praying. If you think we need to do something, please let us know. Love, Linda and Jer

So, just a few things. My grandmother really, really doesn't like my aunt, so when she talks about Mom thinking it wasn't a good idea for them to move into my grandparents' house, it wasn't Mom's problem, it was Grandma's, but my aunt obviously doesn't know that.

Also, this really all comes down to money. No, it's not physically or mentally possible for my mother to care for them 24/7, but they don't have the money to go to the nursing home or anywhere else. Linda & Jerry obviously can't help with anything, being unemployed and living with their son. When they did live in the house near my grandparents, their water and such was being turned off due to non-payment.

My uncle is trained as a medical machine repairman, but hasn't worked at that since a mental breakdown kind of thing about 10 years ago. He tried a bunch of different jobs and kept quitting because "he needs to be outside, can't be outside, the gas is too expensive to drive to work" etc., etc. So him running to my grandparents 4-5 times a day was doubtless annoying, but he wasn't doing anything else...

She had been working as a teacher's aide at a local school, though she does have a teaching degree and used to own her own preschool/daycare, back when I was young.

Anyway, I just don't know what, if anything to say... Should I tell her that mom WOULD let go of care, if there was anyone to let go to? Or any money to do that? Should I tell her it wasn't mom who didn't want them in the house with grandma? Should I say, (and no, I know I shouldn't) "Since you don't have jobs, come back and take care of them, then, especially since you can't contribute to the helper's salary?" Or should I just say, "Yeah, we're all concerned," and nothing else?

Family. Ugh.
