That's fantastic Mel, his teachers sound great, hope it continues :hug:

Did you guys notice I have a new ticker? I thought I should do one for the different things we're doing. It's not Disney, but it'll be fun! :banana:

The girls squad came in 2nd which was awesome seeing as the music messed up and they were just standing there for at least 5 mins. but the stood perfectly and smiled . I bet their faces hurt from smiling so long! After wards we did the rounds of the food stands , they have some real different foods . DSIL got clams and seafood jambalaya which he loved ( puts hot sauce on everything !!! The rain held of till after the competition but then the skies opened and I am drenched !!
Hey is anyone else going in May!!!?????
That's great Rosie :thumbsup2

OK I'm NOT going.
At least you can put the $ to your next trip!

Ok, so has free dining been extended or did it always go into October??:confused3 I just got an email with a pin code for free dining with a MYW package from 9/28 to 10/11...
So are you going to go? popcorn:: BTW you and Kate stay safe :hug:

We found Jim Cantore! Was anyone watching between 9:20 and 9:50?
OK so who's Jim?

Oh...and I have a date! ;) I'll be gone in a few!
And????????

We found Jim Cantore! Was anyone watching between 9:20 and 9:50?

I was watching! He had quite the audience last night!! It started out with a couple of people walking back and forth behind him jumping up and down, waving...then he had a whole PACK of people with him!! LOL! It was pretty funny!!

Wish I'd been paying better attention S'late!!

Hey fellow Hanna sufferer! Nothings going on here...is all well with you?

Um....I'll be there Oct 4-11:rolleyes1 Just sayin'

Morning!! Ummm...ok, so after August, I can't afford to pay attention, much less sneak in a quick trip before the upcoming one in November that I now have NO IDEA how I'm going to pay for...well, I've got an idea...a credit card. BUT...that's not really a GREAT idea...:rolleyes:

Glad you checked in LL. She hasn't arrived to you yet? No offense but maybe if she slows down a bit I can have the kids outside tomorrow.:confused3

Stay safe:hug:

We're good. We're actually getting the worst of it now, but it's not bad.

S'late...where are you? I believe I DID hear you coming through G-Vegas yesterday!!:lmao: How's things out your way? You may be getting it worse than me, no?:confused3

Hi LL!! Bob says to tell Tony Hi! (he recommends that you hole up in the bathroom with a bottle of Scotch to stay safe from Hannah....)
I think we'll be there in Oct....just saying.....:rolleyes1

Tell Bob hi from Tony - he really liked meeting him. If only I could fit the TV in the bathroom, I'd be hanging out there...:rolleyes:

Um, HELLO?! WHO'S been all upset becuase I can't get an AP discount for Oct. 4? V!!!

40%... split two ways... Just sayin... ;)

I know, I know...it's killing me...just can't afford to do it.

I am officially FREAKING out about November now though...:scared: if I wasn't bringing 3 other people, I'd seriously be considering cancelling and rescheduling to a later time...:teacher: Fuzzy Disney Math is NOT currently on my side...:sad2:

:goodvibes Morning!

Well, either I was exhausted and slept through it all or Hanna hardly made a peep here in SC. Raleigh looks like it's getting the brunt of it right now. We got lots of rain, but all in all is wasn't worth me hauling in the patio furniture yesterday. Works for me.

Janet, I hope it slows and you can keep the kiddos outside.

Um, excuse me. You can't drop a bombshell like that and just leavepopcorn::

;)

Thanks Girl! I know, I'm trying not to get too excited though. I think we have a long road ahead anyway....

Honey...I'll tell you what I've learned from being Jon's mommy. The road is always going to be long. Sometimes, it's just less bumpy.

You are doing exactly the right things as his mommy. You are making sure he is taking care of.

Celebrating the small successes doesn't take away from the fight. IYKWIM??

I'll compare it to my experience...

When do children learn to read??? Starting in Kindergarten???

My baby Jon took a little bit longer. Not a word until 3rd grade, that's when he finally was able to read some sight words. He brought home this book...and all of the words rhymed. "The fat cat sat on the mat"...stuff like that.

I remember him telling me: "Momma, I need to read this to you."

Now, he'd always "read" stuff to me...but, that basically meant making stuff up. :lmao:

So, he brings over this little sight word book, and sits in my lap on the floor...facing away from me.

And he opens it...and reads every word.

And I'm sitting behind him (remember he can't see my face) and tears are streaming down my face.

It was his first book.

Could he read like other children his age? Nope.
Did he still have immense struggles ahead of him? Yup.

But, he had made a blip on the radar screen. And that's HUGE!!!

:hug:

You guys will be ok. You just have to get everything figured out. And you will...because you're his momma.

I know but our babies have already got to 12, where did that go? :sad2:

I knoooooowwwwww...:sad:

Good morning. I've got to take the girls to a dance clinic soon. I can't believe I had to set my alarm on a Saturday. :sad2:

Jo- K's got a conference in Dallas those few days. We're going to go to the American Girl store and have lunch at the Bistro. We plan on going to the driving track for Kirt and going to the West End to eat dinner. As I'm typing this I'm thinking, she has no idea what I'm talking about... :lmao:
I'm not sure, but we talked about going to the book depository to do the tour that's about President JFK's assasination, but I think we'll wait since we'll be going to Dallas once a year with dance for conventions. It would fit into our history lessons better next year. :teacher:

Anyway, we have a busy day with dance and A's first baseball game. So, I'll talk you al later. :goodvibes

Can someone tell me why I'm awake at 6:00 on a Saturday morning???

Yup, me either. The doggies woke me at 5:45 to go out and I usually go back to bed. Not today. Popped up like a kernel of popcorn. Have no idea why. Ah well. :confused3

I had a date last night with a guy I've been dating on and off for almost 2 years. Problem is...he's perfect. He is sweet, educated, smart, funny. BUT...he wants to get married. :faint: That's why we keep separating. Cause Jen don't want to get married. :sad2: Don't analyze me...:lmao:

He also wants babies. And Jen don't want babies. :sad2: He was willing to forgo babies, but he still wants to be married. :eek: No thanks. I'm just not into that. Maybe when I grow up.

Anyways, we are still best friends. And I needed some "mommy" time last night. We watched that movie "What Happens in Vegas." Soooo cute!

So, my date wasn't that scandalous. :rolleyes1 ;)

Think of moving the patio furniture as an insurance policy.. jsut by doing so you may have thwarted some of Hanna! Exactly why I carry two umbrellas everywhere I go in summer. :rotfl:

S'late - how are things in your neck of the woods? Stay safe! :hug:

Sounds fun, is it the same AG store that Jodi went to?

My baby birds are sitting on the side of the satellite dish, they are almost reasy to go, I must post some photos for you!

Ok, here is our hourly SD report! Ha!

He made it through the whole day without visiting the office or the social worker. He went to all his classes and then stayed after for 30 mins to finish what he missed the last two days. I got emails from all but his history teacher and they were all so nice. They said that they talked with him, enjoyed having him in class and that he was completely caught up! He even felt good enough to verbally spar with the history teacher on a point he made. I said, yeah great now you're the kid who doesn't show up AND argues!

He is feeling very positive about today! He DID have a half of one of the valiums this morning before school, but that is a 1/4 dose and it wore off around lunchtime. He said he felt a bit anxious during the end of lunch (probably about the time it wore off) but he calmed himself!!!!

It's not over, but at least he had ONE good day and a weekend to prepare for Monday. AND the teachers were great!!!

WHOOHOO!

MEL

That's awesome, Mel. I hope it continues to get better for SD! :hug:

Did you guys notice I have a new ticker? I thought I should do one for the different things we're doing. It's not Disney, but it'll be fun! :banana:

I made a ressie for lunch at the American Girl Boutique and Bistro for the kids and me (and Molly and Felicity, I guess.) :woohoo:

At some point during my recovery, maybe I'll get around to finishing my mini-trippie of our trip to AGP Chicago....:confused3 All I can say is that I was very impressed with the quality of food in the cafe!

Hi LL!! Bob says to tell Tony Hi! (he recommends that you hole up in the bathroom with a bottle of Scotch to stay safe from Hannah....)
I think we'll be there in Oct....just saying.....:rolleyes1

MEL

First of all, according to V's mom, you need peanut butter as well in order to hole up in the bathroom! :rotfl:

Secondly..... October??? Mel, I need details! We'll be there the 17th-24th! I wanna meet MEL and Bob! :woohoo:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay, so the lack of sleep lately finally caught up with me last night. We put the girls to bed at 9pm and I laid down on my bed to watch a bit of college football (Ball State vs. Navy) and the next thing I know, DH is waking me up to tell me to take out my contacts at 10:50pm. I told him I would and then next thing I know, it's after midnight. So, I get up and get ready for bed and then promptly sleep until DD4 wakes me up at 7:15 this morning. I turned the TV on for her and slept until 9. :woohoo: :banana: :yay: I feel so much better than I did yesterday! Nothing like almost sleeping the clock around!
Not sure what we're doing today. I started feeling twinges of pain a bit yesterday, so I know I've got to take it easy today. DH has got to mow the lawn (usually my job). We've got a sitter coming tonight so that we can go out for dinner. I figured it will be awhile before I feel like going out again, so we're going out to celebrate my birthday tonight. :cheer2: Since I spent my birthday on the recliner last Sunday. :sick: I'm trying to figure out where I want to eat.... any suggestions?
The DIS logged me out even though I wasn't taking forever to read stuff and I didn't feel like logging back in to multi-quote so....
Morning everyone!
Hope all you Fockers on the East Coast are holding up ok! :hug:
Jo: I'm with you, I have no idea who Jim Cantore is. Some weather guy? :confused3
Mel: :yay: on SD. And what do you mean you couldn't find a reason to take a picture?!? Uh hello how about, "Hi Bob and Bob's hot friend I just want to take a pic of you guys cutting down the tree since I told all my Focker friends about it." ;)
G-Luv: I totally understand you on the whole he's perfect thing. That's how I feel about my Luvah, I'm afraid he's too involved while I'm still single in my head. :rolleyes: No judging from me either.
LL: I was thinking the same thing about Free Dining (we had a bounceback thingy in the room while in WDW), I don't remember it going into Oct. :confused3
Jodi: Hmmm I'd personally go for Italian food, but that's 'cause I like Italian food. Go out to some place that serves your favorite type of food. Tony Roma's is always good too (does that exist in Indy?) :confused:
Rachel: How was work? And :woohoo: :banana: 6 days left!!!!!
Janet: Hope you don't get too much rain to have some relief from the craziness. :hug:
Kat: :hug: It was the thought that counted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So work wasn't tooo bad. It was steady, but not crazy except for the maternity department. :sad2: My supervisor was still there when I got in and he basically told me I got the promotion so :yay: . Now it's time to maneuver off the night shift back to the living.

Ike is still heading near us, even though he moved a litte South. Unfortunately the hospital will most likely activate it's Hurricane teams so I will most likely have to work Monday night too. :headache: :mad: I just hope the outer bands aren't too powerful that it'll knock power out because that'll just suck.

Alrighty catch ya'll later!!!

I feel so much better than I did yesterday! Nothing like almost sleeping the clock around!
It sounded as though you really needed it :hug: Have fun tonight where ever you go :goodvibes

Fantastic so you're going onto day shifts now :thumbsup2

Not yet, but apparently the same position I just got they're creating one for morning just "not yet" but I already asked if I could get that spot. ;)

Kat did you see they're getting rid of EMH wristbands? :laughing: Good thing they weren't doing that in August! ;)
