 Jodi, I just wanted to send prayers and warm wishes to you. I have never posted on a Focker thread before. I see so many people I know. Hi everyone!!

Get posting here then Lady !! We are a fun loving group who love and support each other all the way. Watch out for our twisted sense of humor ,it will have you:rotfl2:
Jodi adding my prayers and well wishes again !!

Oh No Jodi!!! Are you getting the ovary removed or just the cyst?
Hang in there! happy thoughts....
Margaritas at IP DIP,,,Dancing the chicken Dance with Ed, Talking football with Steve!! Go patriots!! :rotfl2: rest up..

Don't make me come up there, Ed. How dare you type the P word here! :rotfl: And to answer your question, the dr. said she'd have to take the entire ovary due to the size of the cyst. I've got a small cyst on the other ovary as well, and she said she'd take a look at that one to see if she needs to remove the cyst over there. But that she would not remove that ovary unless absolutely necessary. She said the recovery time is similar to a c-section, so it's about 5-6 weeks --- just in time for Ip-Dip!

OMG Jodi! You poor baby! What can we do? for you!!!

Janet: Jodi passed your post count and the strain has put her in the Hospital! (no, actually she has a cyst on her ovary!) We can't catch you up, but today is Rosie Day! How was the rest of your visit?

Get better Jodi!!!

Thanks, Mel. I'm doing okay right now. Didn't sleep very well last night, but that's only to be expected at the hospital. The Percocet is working well, but it makes me a bit nauseous. The worst pain I have right now is a headache I woke up with.

Oh my gosh Jodi  I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

 Jodi Feel better !!

Jodi!!! That is one big Cyst. I bet the morphine feels like heaven.

Thanks for the hugs! I love you guys too! Both of my kids were big, so I guess it's only fitting that my cyst is big too!

Jodi! No, that's not a way to spend your birthday. :guilty: I had a cyst that I had to have a laparoscopy for in 2000. It was about the size of a coaster. Not fun... :sad2:
I'm surprised they are waiting if the pain is that bad. You could be on your way to recovery by Tuesday if they do it tomorrow or feel horrible and hope it doesn't rupture all weekend. I'd be asking for the surgeon in the morning if it was me. ::yes::

Enjoy the drugs and keep us updated, honey.

Eric and I talked about that last night. My pain is totally under control this morning, so I could wait until my doctor is available, but then again, the sooner I have surgery, the sooner I'll be on the road to recovery. The doctor is supposed to come in this morning, so we'll talk to her then.

Jodi---OMG---are you ok? Was this caused by eating too much peanut butter??? ;) We'll DIS you through this so keep in touch---yes, even on the pain-killers---we'll save ALL your really funny posts for when you are off them! ;)

(Hope u feel better really soon! )

Thanks, TE. Maybe you can give me a new Focker name based on my drugged up posts! :rotfl: I'm sure I'll have plenty of them for the next few weeks.

Rest and keep us informed - Eric if you can't.

I will definitely keep you guys informed. Eric left one of his laptops at the hospital and the hospital has free wi-fi!

 Jodi! That is most definately not a fun way to spend your birthday. Definately rest and I hope they you can get some relief soon!

Thanks, Lori. By the way, your DD looked adorable for the first day of kindergarten. I'll have to have DH take pics of DD4 on her first day of preschool on Wednesday, since it doesn't look like I'll be taking her to school.

 Jodi, I just wanted to send prayers and warm wishes to you. I have never posted on a Focker thread before. I see so many people I know. Hi everyone!!

Hi Tracy! Thanks for the prayers. I appreciate it! I'll be sure to keep the Enchanted people informed as well! As I said above, I should be totally recovered before Ip-Dip! :cool1:

HI Jodi.. I see you are awake...

Hi guys!

well, there's a good reason why I haven't been around today. I called the doctor at 8:30 this morning to see if I could get something for the pain and he sent me to the ER. So, after numerous tests and seeing lots of doctors, I've been admitted to the hospital with a ovarian cyst that measures 7cm x 10cm. At this point, I'm on IV morphine and they're just waiting to see if I can handle the pain. It's not an emergency situation. My OB-GYN is not on call this weekend and if I can, I'd like to wait to have her do the surgery. It will be sometime next week, unless the pain is too bad. If so, then I'll have surgery this weekend sometime and the doc on call will do it. Either way, it's got to come out.

I will keep you posted. They just took Mr. Morphine away and gave me some oral pain meds - Percocet. If they work, then I get to go home tomorrow. If not, I will probably have surgery tomorrow. What a great way to spend my birthday, huh? I don't think we'll be going to the zoo on Sunday afternoon to celebrate. Instead, I'll be lucky to be able to get out of the house at all. But at least I can have food now. All I've had since I got here was some ice chips and that was only after the OB-GYN came in at 3pm. DH ran to Bob Evans at 7:45 and got me some pancakes since the hospital cafeteria closed at 7:30. They tasted good. I think I'm going to get some sleep now. Percocet seems to be making me a bit loopy!

I Wish I was closer.. and not laid up myself..
Percocet makes me loopy and sick.. do not tolerate it well.. but sometimes it is BETTER THAN THE PAIN..and sometimes I have just took the edge off with Motrin. Mostly it's "WELL WISHES" But you want to be remembered on your Birthday

whoops--I spelled Katt wrong-----so Welcome back KAT, cause KATT didn't go this time! :lmao:

Yeah  Just when I thought you guys missed me yesterday.

I know I know.. the "Fockers" are all coming back to "roost" and you/we are all excited.

IT is RARE that I get in a SHOPPING MOOD
shopping.gif
It may be ONCE A YEAR ... Maybe a couple of years even.. But I hit one Thursday night... so Scott and I went to breakfast and he was going shopping with me. Did not know what I would buy.. but I wanted to buy SOMETHING.
Couch, Clothes, Organizer stuff..
shopping.gif

But I was coming home with something...

I CAME HOME WITH Meat and Milk from Sam's.. THAT WAS IT !!!
Scott got a call and he had to go back to the house to get some quotes together for a customer.. and I was going back out alone. As I was walking up through the yard( yard is sloping) I felt something POP or break in my leg ( almost seemed like I HEARD IT) I dropped the milk and began to scream for Scott.
I could not move or put any weight on it.

At first I thought I would be O.K...let me lay down and rest...But then it began to swell and went numb.
So here we go to the Dr.
Torn Muscle in my calf. Cannot flex my right foot at all. Now maybe it's because it was Labor Day Weekend.. but the Dr. did not order a MRI But said if it does not feel better by Monday ( staying off of it and taking anti-inflammatory) come back and we'll take a picture.
:sad2:
So here I sit.. house torn apart where I was beginning to prep a room to paint... WANTING TO SHOP and can not do ANYTHING...
At least I can have Scott's Laptop today.

I NEED COFFEE and EVERYBODY IS STILL ASLEEP

cat_morning_coffee.jpg

Thanks, Katt. I'd make you coffee if I were closer. I'm actually not in any pain right now at all. However, I'm starting to get a bit sleepy again.

I'm so sorry to hear about your leg. I did get your PM last night, but was too tired to respond. Thanks for the prayers and I'll definitely be shooting some right back for you! I think an MRI is the only imaging that I didn't have yesterday!

As it stands, I'm still waiting for the doc to come in. Eric and I both think that we'll just go ahead with the surgery today. It makes it easier for scheduling purposes. He doesn't have any vacation days left after blocking out our WDW trip in October, so this way, I'll be heading home probably Monday evening and he could go to work on Tuesday. My mom is here, but even if she has to go home, the in-laws are local and can help out with the girls. Not exactly how I planned to spend my birthday tomorrow, but I think it's for the best.

If I was in your spot I woudl say get this out NOW...

I hate to ask this... They are not concerned at all if it is The Big "C" are they ??.. just those tumors that we get sometimes?

A lady at church had one the size of a basketball almost.. she was not as fat as we all thought. It was Tumor

They said that the composition of the mass was "complex" meaning that they cannot rule out the big "c". But my mom had a huge fybroid about 4 years ago that was totally benign (fluid filled), so that's the assumption I'm working on. The doc said that they won't know anything until they get it out of me.

I know that HAS to be in the back of your mind.. and you have been helping so many dealing the Cancer.

I have a Good "feeling" that is is just that.. a Fibro NON cancerous tumor.

Thanks for thinking of me.. I bet you would trade places with me right now:lmao:

They aren't going to do the surgery laparscopically? That recovery time is less than an abdominal suregery, for sure. Either way, you should be up and running by Ip Dip. I felt totally normal by 5 weeks aftermy surgery and it was abdominal.

I forgot to say...when I had the lap, I had my tube and ovary removed also. They just couldn't save it. I lived without one ovary for 8 years and couldn't tell the difference. Every once in a while I would have ghost pains, though.

I'm sending prayers for your day to go smoothly and you to be feeling so much better by your birthday!

Katt- I showed Kirt your video last night. :lmao:
Also- Kirt has done enough shopping for you and I both lately. He bought a carpet cleaner (finally) last night. I've been cranky because it's what I wanted all this time he's been buying his t.v. and stuff to go with it. Today I want to clean the family room carpet and the chairs in the breakfast room.

I think I'm going to get some coffee made and be right back. :goodvibes

She mentioned doing it lap, but said with the size of the tumor and not being sure what's inside of it, I think she'd be more comfortable doing it abdominally. She said she could go right through my c-section scar, so it would be relatively easy. I felt really good after about 2 weeks with my DD4, so I'm hoping that it won't take the entire 6 weeks. Even so, I've got seven before we leave for WDW.

Right now, my only complaint is the fact that I haven't showered since Wednesday and I'm itchy all over. One of the side effects of the morphine is itchiness. I may ask for some Benadryl if it gets much worse. But I want to wait until the doc comes in to make sure I don't do anything that will delay the surgery.

Yeah Itchy and it can make you hot and feel like you can't breathe.
Would Benedryl Work:confused3

Sara made me some coffee and it was not too bad.. She wanted some too.

YES She drinks coffee.. been doing that since she was 3 or 4 mostly by teaspoon because "if Mommy is drinking it.. I want it" Good thing I do not drink Alcohol .. Some of those drinks are "pretty"

That makes sense. But don't feel like there's anything "wrong" if it takes a bit longer than 2 weeks. My friend had a hysterectomy 4 weeks ago through her c-section scar and she took 3-4 weeks of recovery. If you're on oral meds, can't you get a shower before they do surgery? :confused3

Baylie wants to drink it too. I let her have a tiny bit of it sometimes. She's making mine right now. Hopefully it won't be a dessert drink! :lmao:

Okay, the nurse just came in and is going to allow me to take a shower!!!:cool1:

So, I'll be back in a little bit!

 for Katt too! Poor Katt!

Hi Dawn! :wave2:
------------------------------

I woke up early too. I made monkey bread, just waiting to pop it into the oven when the boys get up. Have you guys had that? It's sinful, and NOT low calorie but SOOOOOOOOOO yummy! I haven't made the coffee yet either. Today we are doing some yard work and gardening. I think Bob might take the boys out to see a movie later. We're not sure on that just yet because of SD's issues....

He's still struggling. I made an appt. with the pediatric psychiatrist. It's for the end of Sept. The psycologist wants him to see that dr. and get some form of meds if he can't get this under control by then. I'm so torn. I don't want to medicate my baby, but if he's constantly struggling how will he make it through hs? I know I should be optomisitic but this summer has SUCKED big time.

Anyway, my mom comes on Sunday and I'm really looking forward to that. I need my mommy!!!!
