Is there a way you can talk to some higher up and come with documentation of her absences?

I was in front of the Assistant Superintendent.. it is HIS JOB to make the call.
EVEN if her grades were all A's she now has a "RECORD" of being a habitual absentee. 2 years with 10+ absences.. THAT ALONE CAN KILL YOUR CHANCES.
No it is not fair.. had there been more summer left I would fight it but they start school Sept 2 so the classes are now set.

Yes ladies pray for the teachers... but most of all... she NEEDS A FRIEND. Her BF left in the middle of the year.. and the "Clique's" have begun with these 9-10 year old girls...and Sara has NO ONE. All she can do is cry. She has not one reason to look forward to school starting.
My Sara is a Social Butterfly . While somewhat shy.. no where near as much as me.. she can not stand to be alone. And at this age it is a tough thing.. she's just so young. One little girl.. is a real two face, and was her friend but that changed. She strikes me as the kind of girl that would bash someone on a "Face book" or "My Space" page.

I had really hoped to get Sara situated in this other school system and we move there in a year or two. That way when she went to Middle School.. she would already have kids she knew. Now she will be alone when we do move.


So now.... she begins School August 25.. MIGHT BE A VERY LONG YEAR.

Yeah well I really haven't made it official in my head but he keeps telling everyone I'm his girlfriend so I thought I'd just make it simple when talking about him to call him my boyfriend. It's been 6 months and things are still good. Although in my head I'm still single.

I wrote up a big post last night, then lost the connection with mom's network.

So, very quickly, I hope you all had a great weekend.

After much confusion and discussion, Dad & I are driving home today. I was hoping to be gone about 5 minutes ago, but that doesn't seem to be happening.

I think we're going to try to power through, even though it puts us home after midnight. It's just easier than unpacking with a stop, and we both like to drive and are night owls.

But I have a hotel in mind, in case.

Katt, so sorry about Sarabeth. I know what your going through. I hate our school! hopefully this year will be better than last for Ben. I want to set up a meeting with his 5th grade teacher before school starts. and I have the same problem with friends with Sam, hes 15 though and I think its easier for boys in that regard. poor thing has been doing nothing but play on the computer and watch TV all summer!!

I got the document I was waiting for this morning!! I just have to print it out get a money order and send it overnite FedEX. $30!
But it absolutely, positively, has to be there over night! they post loan payoffs on Thursdays and we cant afford to wait until next thursday for our new loan!!!

Gus has swimming at 10 am and SD has an ortho appt. at 10:15. He said he doesn't know if he's up to that yet. He did sleep ALL night though! I gave him one of the pills, tucked him in and said, "PLEASE sleep well. And if you don't, PLEASE don't wake me." I woke up at 8 am!!! So, a much much much needed sleep last night for both of us. He said that he did wake up once and felt a little panicky but he calmed himself down! Thank Goodness. Maybe things are heading the right way. He's gaming downstairs with Gus right now.

I will say one thing about getting some sleep. I didn't realize because I felt so awful and tired that I have a bad cold! (me too, JEN!!) And guess what!? So does SD!!! He said, ugh! The snot! I think that may have contributed to his feeling like he couldn't get a breath, which then made him panic. So, we're all keeping fingers crossed here that we're on the mend.

Thanks for the comments on my new nephew. Isn't he cute!!! I have to call the florist in a minute and get sis some flowers.

OH< and guess what! STUPID Spirit Airlines emailed me yesterday and changed my flights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'M FURIOUS! They changed our DIRECT flight detroit-mco to a detroit-ft. lauderdale-mco.

I'm trying to relax though. At least I'll get to Disney eventually! GRRR.

We have soem friends (i'm not too fond of them but they are KCs friends so I keep my mouth shut, and they want to go to disney so they ask em about it. I am happy to plan their vacation, i live for that stuff, until I asked when they wanna go.....

For giggles I looked to see if any values were available. nope. So tonight I get to explain why they shouldn't have picked then to go anyway. They have a 2 year old. Can you imagine rookies waiting on lines for hours with a 2 year old. OY.

Gotta go get my dinner out of the oven...I made breaded eggplant as a side dish. YUM.

One of my supervisors at work asked me last week how much he could pay me to plan his trip in January for him. I laughed and said I would do it for free. Although perhaps I should have accepted the money.

Take the money, you could use it for school

When I told KC I was having a planning video sent to their house he laughed. I told him unless they are paying me to be their tour guide too then they need to have SOME CLUE once they get there!!

PS they have a budget of $2000 for 6 nights....including food....my advice- go somewhere cheaper!

I just wanted to let you guys see my newest nephew!!! His name is Nathaniel Harlan and he's just a peach! Mom is doing great (my dsis Stacie) and she's going to be in the hospital for 4-5 days. Her C section was NOT planned, but her water broke so they did an ultrasound (she's 3 wks early-her due date was WeinerFEST!!!). His shoulders were big enough that Dr. was worried he'd get stuck!
My sis is tough so she'll be fine! Nate the Great was 8 pounds!

HE is a cutie. Glad he and you sis are healthy!

And, thanks to all my wonderful friends! Your prayers are clearly working for dson. He's sitting with me watching Gladiators. He hasn't had a pill since the original one at 1 pm after the drs. He ate some dinner (YAY!) and had a shower. He's going to have a pill and get to bed soon. He seems ok for now.
I love you all for supporting us. Let's hope he can make it through the night and let his poor tired momma sleep.

I just Might have the "Opening Ceremonies" Tomorrow on my 2 Disney Vacations. Still not happy with my Title... may have to do a "Run-On Trip Report"

I behind last weeks and this weeks episode though. I watch it with my boyfriend (got him hooked heh heh!), so I have to wait for him to catch up.

In the morning I'm going to meet my mom and nephew (remember the naughty child thing? Fun, fun.) for playground time and lunch. It's about halfway for both of us, so we meet every month or so. I'm hoping we lots of rain from the tropical storm, but not until I get home.

got bad news today... at least for Sarabeth... The schools I applied to WILL NOT TAKE SARA NEXT YEAR .And we just can not move there right now to force them to take her.

In short... her absences... 15 last year... 11 the year before. Does not matter that she was sick.. or had surgery. So lets just say I am and Sara is sad.

It's going to be a long year I'm afraid.

Hi Carrie.. No I think "Janet Day" is officially Over.. but she still needs to collect her AWARD as does Jo.. so there is still some Festivities..

Yeah School Sara has had a couple of play dates this summer with her BFF who is not at her school anymore.
Saddest... Friday is her 10th Birthday... There is no party.. No Friends. I'll probably have Emma( her BFF) Over to play and do makeovers maybe Saturday. We were going to have a sleepover but Emma has some "issues" that would make it nearly impossible for her.

Last year I took her to Disney on her Birthday... and we did not do a party for that reason... NOW WHAT DO I DO ?? Ya CAN'T TOP DISNEY for a Party.

She wants Her Birthday Dinner to be at "Outback" and we'll probably go see Wall-E.
MAYBE... this year everyone will want to be her friend and be little Miss Popular.

Nothing very exciting to report here. I'm still avoiding Gramma, not in punishment, but to avoid any further issues.

Leo has a cold; came home from camp yesterday with no voice and a cough. Better now than in a week and a half, though, right?

He said that he did wake up once and felt a little panicky but he calmed himself down! Thank Goodness. Maybe things are heading the right way. He's gaming downstairs with Gus right now.

Oh and SORRY ABOUT YOUR FLIGHTS... Delta did that to us in June. Cancelled BOTH OF OUR FLIGHTS and we either had to leave at the Butt Crack of Dawn ( sorry Dawn ) or get home at 10:00 pm.
We chose the 10:00 get home time that became Midnight.

I watched it back then too! I think Paul's a punk. Which probably means I'm getting old. I love the "Paul-free in van number two" song!" That was hilarious. I can't stand Nicole. If she was my doctor I'd find a new one after seeing her on the show. She's so rude. I'm hoping she's not the Mole because it would be too obvious.

I'm thinking it's what's-his-name... the soccer coach guy.
My hubby says he thinks it's Craig too. Who knows? I won't tell you tomorrow who it is now that I know you won't have watched it. You're only behind one week?

Well, don't get all excited, Z! The show's not over until next week. I thought it ended tonight. I'm not sure who the mole is, but I want Mark to win the money. Once I really thought about it, I wondered if Nicole or Craig could be the mole. On some of the last episodes, they worked together, so the quiz answers could apply (the more vague ones anyway) to both of them. I think Nicole's too obvious, Paul's annoying, and I want Mark to win, so I guess that leaves Craig to be the mole.

Okay, so I went out last night to watch the episode only to find that our ABC station was having problems and had NO SOUND!!!!! So, I guess I'll be watching it on abc.com this week as well. Do you know when the finale is going to be? I did catch the very end on our TV upstairs and watched them take the quiz, so I know that they didn't reveal the winner or the Mole yet.

I agree that Paul's a punk and I also loved the song. I kept secretly hoping that he and Nicole would get into a huge fist fight and that both of them would end up being thrown off the show! If Nicole were my OB/GYN, I'd be looking for a new doctor. I almost hope she wins the money because otherwise she's going to be in financial difficulties because she will have lost all of her patients (at least those that watched the show).

I want Mark to win as well for some reason. Either he's the Mole (and will get compensated) or he should win the $400K.

I know that in Indiana, they pick a random day and count the kids and that's the number that state money is based on. I'm just hoping that it's not during a certain week in October this year....

My first grader last year had to deal with mean girls! I couldn't believe that 6 & 7 year olds could be so mean. One particular girl seemed to be the ringleader and would tell the other girls that they couldn't play with my DD on the playground. I'm just hoping that she's not in the same class this year. We get the lists tomorrow evening, so cross your fingers and say a prayer for me!

I hope he likes rain and storms because that's all it's been doing here since about 4:45 am this morning. The thunder woke me up and then I started wondering where the dog was, since he's scared of storms and always has to be right next to me during them. Good morning girls.

Appears when you have the crud you can sleep and sleep and sleep. I was a afraid I wouldn't sleep last night after having taken a 3 hour nap, but I slept like a baby. My DH is working from home and will help with the kids today. I plan on finishing my TR update and getting T's Flat Jen prepared for flight.
