Yup, looks like high 60's to low 70's whilst I'm in Nice. Can't go far enough in the 10-day to get to Paris yet.
Her'es the AccuV forecast for pretty much any time in Paris:

RAIN.

;) No, really - just count on it and have an umbrella with you at all times. Hopefully you won't need it, but better safe than sorry!

Hey, V, can I wear my black ballet flat Crocs in Paris? :confused3 They're the little skinny ones, but still, they're Crocs. :rolleyes1
My only concern is how much walking will you be doing? The streets and many sidewalks are cobblestone-y - would the ballet flat Crocs give enough support so you don't twist an ankle?

Do you have an itinerary? List of places to go? Anything through which I can live vicariously?! :yay:

:thumbsup2 If I had your legs, I'd wear that everyday!
You're so sweet - thank you! :hug:

It's late, I'm tired but I had to tell my Fockers.....

I BOUGHT A NEW CAR TODAY!!! :woohoo:

YAY!!!!!!:cool1:

Janet- I like your new siggie! :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2

Been out of commish for the evening deal with major family drama.:furious:

Hope everything is ok Jen:hug:

Janet- You signed up. ::yes:: Yep. Hieroglyphics yet again.:bitelip:
BTW what a rockin siggy.

:woohoo:

I BOUGHT A NEW CAR TODAY!!! :woohoo:

Awesome T. I am trying to hold onto my Neon a little longer. Just don't want a car payment right now;)

Lessa and Janet: Love your siggies!

I thought it appropos, no?

I personally would NOT send my kids to a home for a sleepover without at LEAST speaking to the parents and visiting their home. :confused3 She had her son call me. She didn't even bother to call. I think some parents are just NUTS. :sad2: He's a nice little boy but I don't think I'll be encouraging them to spend alot of time together because I'm not comfortable at ALL with N being there!!!

I just don't get people. I would never think to send Jimmy to someone's house that I don't know. I must be weird:rolleyes1

Jimmy has a birthday party to attend on June 7th at the Insectarium (Blech) and the mom said to me, I am just going to pick up all the boys (8 of them mind you) and drive them there and bring them back. Um, no we have things to do that day Jim will bring him thanks. She drives a small SUC, I am trying to figure out how she thinks she is getting all these kids into it:confused:

Janet

I'll second the nice addition to your siggie.::yes::

Thanks Sheriff:3dglasses

Oh.. but V is allowed to wear her's and post a picture :goodvibes

Absolutely, where is V with that picture...

O.K. JO... Been long enough... call home sister
telephone.gif

I thought Jo was only going to her dad's for the day? Maybe she is playing golf?

Happy Tuesday! :goodvibes

After reading MizDiz and Mel's nonsense with other parents/friends, I thought I'd share our masquerade party outcome. My oldest son is friends with the girl who was turning 13. My middle is friendly with the girl who turned 10. Both girls have May birthdays, so the mom decided to combine the party this year. They get all dolled up and we go, only to have the ten year old girl not talk to my son AT ALL. :furious: She said nothing to him, all night. And the older girl only spoke to my oldest when it was time to leave. And the kicker is that the next day my children were making excuses for them..."Oh, they had so many people there that wanted their attention."

I'm livid.

I would have been too T2:hug:

I drive a Pilot and could only get 8 people in it IF 3 of them were legless. Seriously, they tout this HUGE vehicle as an 8 passenger but if you sit in the "way back" you have to have no legs as the back of the middle is RIGHT against it!

Dumb design!

I'll never forget the time my oldest said, "Yeah, we all went bowling after the party." Uh, how did she get 7 boys (around 12yrs old) in her Grand Prix? "Oh, we double-buckled."

OMG. You did WHAT?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She got the ANGRIEST phone call from me. Some people.

Kate: That stinks! Girls at that age can be so moody. Was there ANYTHING that made you think that something else was going on?

Mel

morning all!! just home from work. finally caught up with the thousands of pages i missed!! :rotfl2:

i'm totally lost with the talk of drama and "others". i really feel like i'm in a lost episode iwth all this "other" talk. but i'm not sure who the others are. does that make sense? :confused3

hope everyone has a good day. i'm going to bed soon. had a bad night at work. ya know, you have to distance yourself when you work in the er, but some of the things that come in, it's hard not to let it get to you. :worried: but i guess if i didn't let anything get to me, i wouldn't be human. it's okay though, i'll feel much better after a few hours of sleep.

When we lived in SC, there was drama all the time. Now that we don't live near family, we don't hear about it.
It's late, I'm tired but I had to tell my Fockers.....

I BOUGHT A NEW CAR TODAY!!! :woohoo:
Love it! We have a gas guzzling Expedition that we really want to get rid of. We just paid it off and really don't want another car payment, but we really don't like this vehicle. We need to decide what we want.
Today we are taking the boys (and friends) to see Prince Caspian. Then my oldest has a project to complete for Honors History. What are you guys doing? I'm not cleaning till tomorrow when eveyone is GONE again! :rotfl:

MEL:banana:
Can't wait to see that! We just bought the Chronicles of Narnia DVD.

Good Morning Fockers! I's back to work today after my 3 days off and already I'm getting phone calls!!
Ughh. Rosie - by the end of the day are you doing this :badpc: ?

I don't know why kids are sometimes so rude!

hey there, i drive a pilot too!! but as i'm only 5 ft tall, i pretty much am legless, so sitting in the back doesnt bother me. kwym though!!

On behalf of everyone, sorry about that. The short story is, a few DISers started a new Disney discussion board a while back. I can't ever remember its name, so I, for one, always refer to it as "over there"! Apparently, there's been some drama "over there" as of late. No worries - all is well "here"! ;)

OMG. I would have freaked out! I used to be a claims adjuster and I am very strict with car rules. One of my friends lets her child put the seatbelt around his lap, but the should part behind his back and she lets him ride in the front seat. He is only 8. When he gets in my car I make him wear the seatbelt right and kids are not allowed in the front. My ds used to ask why he couldn't sit in the front if we are "just in the neighborhood" because Bradley's mom lets him. He quit asking when I told him how I had a claim with a 20 year old girl whose entire neck was burned from an airbag. Guess where it went off? In her garage! She barely tapped the garage wall, but she hit the airbag sensors just right.

Hi Rachel:hug:

I thought She said something about a week and wouls check in from her dad's maybe??

A WEEK! Who gave her permission to leave for a week:confused3 (unless she is in WDW:laughing: )

And this is why V is the writer of our little group. SHort, sweet and to the point:thumbsup2 and no typos:rolleyes1

:scared1:

Oooh, T! It's so pretty! I have a '99 Suburban that I want to get rid of, but since it's paid off and it's still running, it seems better to wait a bit. I was looking at the Saturn Outlook. I want enough room to carpool, and we have 5 in our family, so that really cuts down on what I can drive.

All these stories about carppy moms really make me renew my feeling that I am making good choices for my kids even if they aren't the popular ones. I have a mom here that lives a few houses down and her kids show up all hours of the day (8:30 a.m. on a Friday) and night (7:15 on a school night) to ask my kids to play. I can't tell you how many times I've called her and she's said she didn't realized they had come down here. :scared1:
The best news, is that she called and told me they are MOVING!!! :banana:

Rose- :headache: Sorry it's already so busy.

Janet- What did I miss? You signed up for something? :confused3

Rachel- :hug: Sorry you had a tough day. I could never do what you do. I'm not tough enough for it. You're an angel!

Mel- I need to PM you back. I'll do that in a few.

Katt- Ditto Mel :surfweb:

V- I think everyone is waiting for the picture, my dear... ;)

I better get everyone going... Happy fake Monday! :rotfl:

OMG, me too! I've always thought of myslef as pretty left-wing liberal, but it turns out I'm strangely conservative when it comes to raising my kid! So far, Leo hasn't asked to see any friends outside of school, and I've been fine with that. But the day is coming and I'm a-skeeered. :scared:

V- I think everyone is waiting for the picture, my dear... ;)
Sorry - no camera today. I'll try to get a shot tomorrow! :rotfl:

We have one of those, too! The kid rang my doorbell at 8:00 on a school night, but it was still daylight outside. When I told him my son could not play because he was in the shower and then going to bed, the child asked me why he has to go to bed so early. I told him we get up at 6am, but wanted to say more. My son does not like playing with this little boy because he is sometimes mean when they are playing. My son used to always stand with his dad at the bus stop in the morning and the kid made fun of my son, saying something to the effect - you're a baby, you always stay next to your dad like you are scared. The kid's dad was standing there when he said it and did not correct him. :mad: I would have corrected my son and told him not to talk to people like that. Another time, the kid asked my son to come over and play and I told him he couldn't because he was grounded. The kid told me I shouldn't have grounded him. I could go on and on about this child. The problem is - I really like his mother. She is soooo nice, but we just can not encourage our son to play with her son.

Wow hearing all these stories about neighbor kids is starting to make me feel pretty lucky. The kids that Jimmy hangs out with on the weekends and stuff are a couple of kids that he goes to daycare with. Us parents are all friends too, but because we don't really live close to each other we have to plan the play dates, movies, etc.

We did just find out on Sunday that there is a little boy who lives down the street from us that is Jimmy's age and will be starting preschool with him in September. Jim and Jimmy had gone out for a walk and this little boy (whose name is also James) and his mom were in front of there house. As they were walking by James started up a conversation with Jimmy. Jim introduced himself to the mom and dad (who came out). Jim said they seem like very nice people. Hopefully this will develop into a nice friendship for Jimmy.

Kyle also has a really nice little friend in the neighborhood, Ethan is his age and they go to schhol together! Ethan's parents have become really good friends! There are a couple of kids we prefer he doesn't play with but other than Ethan it's mainly family he hangs with! The girls being 13 in Augaust are regular social buterflies but we know their friends and who they are with. Lots of sleepovers for them! I do know that one of their friends used to sleep over and her parents never checked on her ever, we try to avoid that friend as it's obviuos her lack of parenting is influencingher !!

Kate: That stinks! Girls at that age can be so moody. Was there ANYTHING that made you think that something else was going on?

Mel

This is going to sound terrible....the only thing I can think of is greed. More kids, more gifts. I've always known this girl to be a "fair weather friend" ~ She's dumped #2 son more than once when someone "better" comes along, but not speaking to him at all was ridiculous. And then to hear my poor kids trying to be understanding and making excuses just broke my heart. I won't be taking them to their party next year.

I just caught up on a about twenty pages.Not going to try to quote but will try to remember some stuff.

V,loved the outfit.:goodvibes

T,love the car!:thumbsup2

my sreenname-speaks for itself except the #s are the ages of my kids at the time.

The friends stuff.I have had to be very careful about my kids friends and it is definitely harder as they get older.Tyler hates that I walk him to the door when he goes to parties(middle school) even though I have already spoken to them on the phone.He started a school this year where ewe knew not a single person.I am lucky that Peyton'd best friend is his cousin and Rebekah's best friend's family is very close friend's of ours.

Kids behavior-before I had kids I was fairly judgemental.Now that I have four kids things have changed.What aggravates me is when parents don't correct their kids behavior.We have to teach them how to behave ,it doesn't just happen.Not very eloquent but its hard to think when one of my perfect children is in time out screaming that I am the meanest mommy in the world.She wants cheetohs..NOW.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know there was more I wanted to say but I have to get ready to pick my boys up from football camp.We are going straight to the pool from there.We joined a pool in town that alot of their friends attend.I am hoping it works out well for us.
Yesterday we did have a cookout here and all 53 people that we invited came.:banana: We had a great time seeing some people that we haven't seen in months because of my kids' ball schedules.We usually have family cookouts but this time it was all friends.
Have a great Tuesday!!
