CE I'm tired just reading everything you crammed into that post! :thumbsup2

Sorry, it was a lot. :)

OH, CE! They were so little  What an awful feeling to not be near home and to not have your regular dr. I can't imagine.:sad2:

Well, the thing was that I had just moved to NH in 7/01. When I figured out I was pregnant in 10/01, I hadn't had the need to see an ob/gyn yet, so my first call to the doctor's office was "Hi, I think I'm pregnant and I need to see someone." So that was great...

It's a group practice, so they were consciously having me see every dr. in the practice because they wouldn't guarantee who'd been on call when I delivered, so I didn't know any of them well - then to be NOT there anyway... :headache:

As it turned out, the doctor who delivered them was the president of the American ob/gyn association that year, so I was in good hands - and MGH was by far better for the situation than our local hospital. :goodvibes But it was scary. I was nearly sure we'd lose Buzz for a few days, so... Nothing now is ever that bad, if you KWIM. ;)

I loved your "neighbor story", by the way! :rotfl:

Welcome back, CE! We missed you!

You're birth story has me doing this.... , :scared: , :guilty: , :goodvibes , and popcorn::

Janet, I love the photos! :goodvibes I'm actually hoping we get to Philly next year!

OMG CE---I was just reading your post......and when I woke up (;) ) < I read the part about your TV.
My TV is coming from Amazon on 5/7 too! :woohoo: (that's kinda strange huh??)

It is this one:My new TV

I got it Sunday nite for $1154 which seemed to be a good deal (I had been monitoring it obsessively on slickdeals.net, and now it's up to $1235.)

Did u know if you can catch the price lower within the next 30 days, then you get an immediate refund of the difference? So, I'm like.........watching it.........24/7!:lmao:

Let me know as soon as yours arrives--supposed to be white glove delivery. Link me the one you got too.

Oh---and what's that about needing a new cable box????
I bought the dang HDMI cable (for $2) but don't know where to stick it. I have dish network BTW

....ok, I'll go back and finish reading your post now!:lmao:

Hi everyone!

Today was very busy. Baby's doing fine, but the stinker wouldn't stay still to get a good hearbeat count. Must be a girl!!

we had a great day of shopping. I went into Bed, Bath and Beyond for new kitchen rugs and came out with a strainer and measuring cup. How does that happen/ :)

Then, I found some things at the maternity shop, but when I got home, I realized the clerk got my "to buy" stuff mixed up with my "doesn't fit right" stuff. My dh took care of the bill while I took care of William, so he didn't even notice the total wasn't right. What a headache. And they have a dumb return policy.

Anyways, I need to back and catch up on everything I missed today. You guys sure chat a lot!

Welcome Rachel! I'm new too!

Janet---love the pics---glad Jimmy had a good day!

Brandy---enjoying the baby ticker! I remember reading each day about how big the girls were (dang, I don't think we had internet then.........or maybe crappy dial-up..........does that mean I'm getting old??? )

well, sniff...sniff....my oldest baby is turning 15 next month......

well, sniff...sniff....my oldest baby is turning 15 next month......

Since we knew, down to the day, when the first three well, uh, "came to be", I was able to really do a day by day on how they were growing. But we don't have a clue of when this baby happened, (actually, I'm not even sure I was there, its all dh's fault!) and our midwife can only narrow it down to a few week window for a due date. It drives me nuts that I don't know exactly what's going on and I can't track it as close with as I did with the others!! :)

Signing off to go to bed!

Mass is tomorrow at 9am, then we're going out for breakfast with grandma.

'night all!

Ok....I'm talking to myself now....but that's ok, right???

Enjoyed the birth story CE! Sounds like it ended up ok even with the doctor, but must have been terribly stressful at the time.

My Ab story (15 years ago...sniff/sniff again!)

1992.......... vacationed in Lake Champlain, VT.

9 months later...........woke up with indigestion (weighed 146 pounds BTW, 9 months pregnant. :headache: do NOT ask me what I weigh now....) ...popped 2 TUMS cause my stomach was aching......?? Italian the nite before ......got in shower............water broke (convenient, huh???)...........got out.....did my hair..........put my makeup on............finished packing............uh oh.........we're now 3 minutes apart.
DH pushes me into Explorer (with towels on the seat. ).........he cuts flashers and lights on and FLYS 30 miles to the hospital where I work (and where I have insurance). We actually HOPED to be stopped by the police so maybe they would escort us faster, like on TV, but no!

I arrive at the hospital........and people think I'm working.:headache: After stating I'm in labor, they take me to OB, and the nurse says "oh, Tracy---it's your first baby, it'll be several hours.................then OMG---she's 7 cm---get the doctor NOW............10 minutes later, I'm pushing.....the doctor runs in and grabs the baby. No meds/no time. 7#8 oz, 21 inches (and I'm barely 5 foot--explained the constant indigestion!)

This is a QUICK post. It's after midnight.

Went to the neighbors for dinner. How funny, they lived in this house. We're dear friends. We bought it and they moved across the street!!!

Had a flank steak that was marinated overnight in the MOST awesome marinade. YUMMMMMMMM. Mashed potatos, salad and rolls.

Dessert was cheescake, apple pie and angel food. (you chose!)

I'm full. Had WAY too much wine with dinner and now we're watching DH's new DVD of the Original Speed Racer series. Yawn. But he's very sweet sitting on the couch watching it so I will let it go.

Hope you all had a great night.

:welcome: newbies!

See you tomorrow everyone!

MEL:banana:

hi there. yes, definately loads of stories. i'm sure i have lots of questions, since your son is a few years older than my daughter. it's nice to chat about it with people who understand what you're going through. time for me to go home and to bed!!!

So, we drove 16 straight hours Thursday so we could be sure to be home for the t-ball parade yesterday evening. Yeah, it was 45 and raining. Boy, was I happy we made it back. :rotfl2:

At least you made it back:lmao:

The boys were supposed to have the first game then, this morning, but the other team wimped out and didn't stay for the 45 degree rain, :rotfl2: so we had practice instead. We then spent all afternoon still looking for an entertainment center.

DId the other team forfiet:confused3

I checked our voicemail at home on Wed. and there was a nice lady wanting to bring the TV on Thursday. As in two days ago. "Um, we're not home, can we make it Tuesday?" which was fine, but we are now scrambling for furniture. Ugh. Worst case, we can use our old coffee table in the meantime, but really.

SOunds like when we were in FLA last year and JIm's luggage "got lost". We had arrived at Pop CEntury and they called our house looking for Jim.:sad2:

I'm so glad to be back! :grouphug:

We are glad you're back CE:hug:

Janet, I love the photos! :goodvibes I'm actually hoping we get to Philly next year!

THat would be so cool:thumbsup2

Good Morning Fockers. Pretty boring day today. Taking Jimmy to get his haircut, then going grocery shopping, and then doing laundry.:laundy: The weather is yucky and after 2 busy days we will just kind of be hanging out doing nothing today.

Morning Fockers! Sorry, no time for multi-quoting, so I'm going from my fuzzy memory...

Janet - the carnival and show sounds like a fun time!

CE - WOW. I just really wanna do this  So little they were! Puts things in perspective...

I had a freakout yesterday as my ex called to say that Leo split his chin open in a swimming pool accident. No stitches - they glued it. But not being there, wondering just how bad it looks, has me in pannicky mama mode. :guilty:

Guess what Rachel?! I live on the other side of Tampa Bay! Feel free to pick my brain if you want any insider info. on the area - CE and sharkB8 can attest that I'll give you you want and more. ;) it's a great palce to live, and with property sales dropped off, a great time to buy. Also, we're always in dire need of nurses, so job-hunting would be a cinch for you. :thumbsup2

When is he due home? Once you can give him a big old hug you will feel less panicky:hug:

Poor Leo! Let us know how he's doing. :goodvibes

Oh, V, hugs to you and Leo.

Rachel, V is a godsend to "northerners moving to FL" for info and advice. :thumbsup2

OK, we're off to Ikea! Wish us luck, though I still don't know that they have what we're looking for even if we decide not to worry about CD storage - finding the place for the center speaker is the kicker on so many.

TE, I'll let you know how Tuesday goes! :thumbsup2 Oh, and I searched for your house as we drove up the highway. I know I went right by your town. ;)

I don't know about direct TV, because we have cable. When I upgraded to the DVR box, I thought I was told it was an HD capable box, but that she wasn't going to give me the HDMI cables as they were expensive if I lost them when I didn't need them. So I figured I'd just need to go in and get the cables, but we were involuntarily switched a little over a year ago from Adelphia to Comcast, so maybe they're trying to bring in all the old boxes??? At any rate, we did watch a bunch more TV last night! :rotfl:

See y'all later!

Slate's super duper sunburn remedy:

I think this is more for sun poisoning, but I'm not an expert.

1. Take the absolute coldest shower possible (take your breath away cold) and don't use soap or shampoo.....sorry the itch is worse than the stink.
2. Do not dry off; pat dry if you have to, but NO rubbing.
3. Liberally cover all burned areas with Caladryl.
4. If you have a ceiling fan, turn it off; the breeze aggrevates your skin.

I have been burned twice in my life so severe I was ready to head to the ER, but not for the burn but rather the itch. Once was after a pharm failed to put a sun warning on a Rx. The other time I had been using Herbal Essence shampoo/conditioner. I'll have to think wayyy back, but the particular flavor of the conditioner can cause your skin to be super sensitive. The only place I was itching was on my back in the area where conditioner would drip from my hair.

BC pills can cause your to be more sensitive as well.
