Okay baby stories , not mine but DD. The TWINS weighed in at 7lb 12oz & 7lb 3 ozs add that together !!:scared1:

:faint: You've got me beat. Leo was 2 freakin' weeks late so they induced. 12 hours later he arrived looking, I swear, like, "WTH?! I was HAPPY people!"
I WAS TWO WEEKS LATE Making for a BIG BABY. And she was my second.
1st one had to be Rescued he was early and I had to have a c-section.He was close to 5 pounds.. SARA on the other hand was almost 9. Honestly ....I think she would still be in there if they had not made me push her out. I think she sized up the opening.. and said "UH Uh.. I am NOT FITTING THROUGH THAT" They did put the Internal monitor on her.. and she was not happy about that.. but she was not budging.

OK LADIES MAYBE I WILL STICK TO PUPPIES AFTERALL!!!!!
No.. you will not.. Even after everything I went through with Sara... within 3 minutes of her being born.. I wanted another one.
Then again I had the epidural. There is NO SHAME in getting the help if you need it. AND I NEEDED IT... I may be a tough old backwoods momma.. but I was NOT THAT TOUGH.

I've always said I would get an elective c-section, my mom and 3 other ladies have had both a vag and c, and told me they would do a c-section again in a second, so I thought that was the route I would go from maybe the ages of 18- maybe about 8 months ago, when I found out about what the epidural really does, and I hate hate HATE the thought of being numb and can't stand the feeling either but everyone says I will want that needle in the end.

Thanks guys for sharing your experiences, I really apprecaite them, even though they sound a bit scary.

It does all sound very scary .. but I am telling you.. Instinct kicks in somewhere. I always made the statement.. knock me out and wake me when it was over. I would have had the c-section again... and looking back I should have. Nurses can not believe that I went that long with broken water and the Dr. did not induce. 27 almost 28 hours.

:

Don't do too much research - once you hear all the details, you won't want to do it. But take it from a mom of 2, the pain is only temporary, but the payoff is a lifetime! :cloud9:

DITTO !!!

OH MY :scared:

How big was your belly?!?! Two 7 lb babies in there! You must have looked like you were going to tip over...

After all this talk, I am on my way to take my birth control pill right now... I need a couple more years before I get myself into any of that... I'm barely old enough to take care of myself, much less a husband, two pups and a kid (or who knows maybe 2-twins run in the fam) I need the 2-3 years I was planning on!!!

Thanks for the reminder! :thumbsup2 I was 29 when I had my first baby. We were married for 7 yrs before we had kids. It worked for us, as we were sooooo immature and loved our "last days of disco", if you will.

I have everyone beat. My ds was 4 days early and was 10 pounds, 2 ounces. Of course it was a csection. When they pulled him out, someone in the delivery room said, "Congratulations! You just had a 3 month old." All of the nurses loved him and said he was the cutest baby in the nursery - because he was already filled out and not wrinkly.

My daughter was 2 weeks early and was 7 pounds, 10 ounces.

We were married 9 years before we had kids. We wanted to wait because we got married when we were in college, therefore we were poor and had no time between work and school. Once we graduated and had good jobs, we just wanted to travel and have fun before we had kids. Maybe it is TMI, but I got pregnant with ds when we were in Paris because we forgot to pack something.

This is not about babies....

Can't remember who recommended it now, but I am reading Stephanie Meyer's Twilight. Half-way through the book! Just wanted to thank whoever it was. I'm loving it!

Ok, my baby story:

DS10 was due May 25. I was scheduled to be induced the following Monday, June 2. On May 29, I wasn't getting the kick count and after a coke and snickers, that big boy still wasn't moving. I was induced the next morning and he was born at 9PM. It was au naturale and the dr looked at the baby and looked at me and said "if I had known he was that big, he wouldn't have come out that direction." He was 9lbs. Poor fella was stuck; they used forceps and the suction thingy.

As for the twins; they were a piece of cake! I had been on bed rest since 28 weeks and was allowed up at 35 weeks. There were two hurricanes dancing off the coast (Cindy and Dennis) and I was afraid I was going to go into labor during a hurricane. A week later two more hurricanes were threatening (Floyd and Gert) and I think I worried myself into labor. I had a dr appt on 9/15 and Floyd was due to hit our coast that evening. I was maybe 1-2 cm and no contractions. I was sent to the hospital and walked and walked and walked; 3 cm but no painful contractions. The dr's words "your contractions aren't hard enough to push out these babies." I'm like, HELLO, there's a freakin hurricane coming. We don't have enough tequilla for a home delivery. We left the hosp, went to Wal-Mart and gawked at the folks preparing for the hurricane and then went home. However, as soon as we got in the car at the hosp, I had started having contractions maybe 10 mins apart, but they didn't hurt. (DS10 was back labor, so I wasn't really sure what contractions felt like) Anyhow by the time we were home, they were 5 mins apart, but not painful. I called the dr office and spoke to one of the nurses (you know, the real brains of the office). Martha knew how far out we lived and knew that the winds were almost too hard for abulances so she said get your butt to the hospital. It was probably 8 or 9 PM before I was all checked in. The contractions were there, but not hard. About 1AM I was given a pitosin drip. Then it was on like Donkey Kong. I was in lots of pain and asked for an epi but it was too late. Around 2:45AM I had that uncontrollable urge to push. The nurse wheeled me to an operating room (in case they had to do a c-section) and at 3 I was allowed to push. At 3:05AM we had a 5lb 11oz little girl and at 3:07AM a 6lb 8oz little boy and a drs arm. :scared1: Oh and the eye of Hurricane Floyd was passing through.

Might I add that DS10 was conceived during hurricane Fran.

Good morning, everyone!
What's everyone up to today? It's going to be a nice, quiet day here with dance tonight. :lovestruc It's nice to be home without a bunch of activites to do.
Scouts, and Chemistry ended this week, and t-ball ends next week. Then we only have two PE classes left. The month is still crazy with two Bdays and a dance recital. Not to mention Baylie's getting braces in a few weeks. Won't June seem nice and relaxing, though? :rotfl:

S'late-Wow! What a story! Now, I'm curious whether the twins are easy going or crazy like a hurricane. ;)

S'late: I didn't know you could dialate to 3 cm and NOT have contractions! Wow! (I should probably know this as I have children....but i didn't) I wonder HOW much you could dialate and NOT have contractions!?

MEL:confused3

I would take the laboring at home and natural birth over a c section any day.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Amen to that! Natural birth rocks!

How odd that your biggest baby was first. Mine went from big (8lbs, 7oz) to biggest (9lbs, 11oz) to big (8lbs, 7oz). I still don't know why #2 was so daggum big, I'm just glad the third one didn't decide to top it :rotfl2:

I have everyone beat. My ds was 4 days early and was 10 pounds, 2 ounces. Of course it was a csection. When they .

Nope, sorry Miz Diz and Shark! I'VE got BOTH of you beat! My second was 11 pounds, 1 ounce!! That's right. A real live 11+ pounder! She only wore 0-3 month clothes for about 2 weeks, and newborn diapers were too small! (In case you're curious, no, I did not have diabetes or pregnancy diabetes, I exercised daily for about an hour, and ate an organic, low carb diet. She was just big!) My first was 7lbs 13 ounces, and the third was 8lbs 4oz.

Woo hoo! I did multi quote!

So, I'm laying in bed last night with Jeff (NOT sneezing, just laying ;)) and I remember, oh my gosh, tomorrow is our anniversary! How in the world can I totally forget something so important?!?! Put a big "D" on my head for being a Dummy!

At 3 cm, I was having contractions, but not painful. I'll edit my post.

Does the pitosin make your contractions stronger or make you dialate more? They kept "threatening" that with my ds10 but never gave it to me. I always wondered what it was.

Okay, I started multi-quoting, but gave up!

I'm doing this right now: :scared1: :faint: :scared1: :faint: Them's some BIG babies out there! And, I forget who said it but you're right, it's amazing how very different women's birthing experiences are. I'm all about honesty - I was led to believe things would be VERY different than they were for me and I was PO'd when I actually went through it!

According to the Dr. Leo was 2 weeks late. I knew the actual date of conception and knew he was only 1 week late. Didn't matter - Dr. knows best. So they induced. And induced. And induced. I was in hard labor from 8am to 4pm and the epidural was on full blast with little or no effect. After 2 hours of pushing, I was near-unconscious and Leo ultimately arrived thanks to the sucky-head thing and two nurses throwing their entire body weight on my stomach to shove him out. He was 7lbs, 13oz. Not much in comparison to lots of babies, but consider that I'm 5' tall and have the bone structure of a 12-year-old! :rotfl: It took a full month to physically recover.

In contrast, a friend of mine had to have a C-section and was back to normal in less than 2 weeks. Witch. ;)

I swore I'd never have another, but I also had a horrendous pregnancy. Still, that sweet boy was worth ALL of it! ...

I had a terrible headache last ngiht, approaching migraine status. I explained to Leo that my head hurt terribly and that I needed to lie down for a bit with my eyes closed whilst he watched TV. My little angel scooted over next to me and asked, "Want me to hold you Mommy?" Then proceeded to hold my hand and rub my head with his other hand.

Mornin Ladies :yay: ... yes... I have already had too much coffee hehe ...

My stories ...
DS 12... 6 hours from first contraction to birth.... no Epi... no choice either... anesthesiologist too slow bringin it... :( 6lb 7oz... 2 weeks early

DD 4.... 12 hour labor... no drugs by choice since did it w/ 1st... big mistake!!! But all well... 5lb 11oz... 5 weeks early...

DS2... 7 hour labor... epi... :woohoo: 5lb 2oz... 5wks 2 days early had to spend 10 days in the NICU... That part sucked :sad1: Lots of tears shed because he couldn't come home with us but he's all good now and full of spunk
