Miz Diz - So glad you are bed bug free, I am paranoid about that as well. Now I feel itchy!

Sorry to make everyone so itchy today.

Crystal works at WDW now! I haven't spoken to her in a while but have hung out with her the last 2 trips! She still has a very slow on going TR.

And BTW I'm itchy too!! Eek.

Where does she work? Anywhere that I can stop by and say hi?

I
Seriously.. Sara was a 27 hour labor from water break to delivery and she was my second. They had to induce my labor as it never started on it's own 7 hours after the water broke.
They gave me the epidural... and evrey 4 hours or so after that I kept telling them to "Hit me again"
because that dose wore off.

That was a LOOOONG Day.
:faint: You've got me beat. Leo was 2 freakin' weeks late so they induced. 12 hours later he arrived looking, I swear, like, "WTH?! I was HAPPY people!"
How much time a day do you guys actually spend DIS-ing? I'm curious!?

I almost always have it open in a window, whether I am actually on or not is another matter.

Ditto for me. Lately, I tend to stop by between projects rather than saving it all up and getting lost.

#1 was two weeks late, too. And I was induced, but no one told me I was going to be induced. I simply went in for a non-stress test. They couldn't find my records anywhere, until they called down to labor and delivery. I was scheduled for an induction and NO ONE bothered to tell me. Then I got in trouble for having eaten cheerios for breakfast.:headache:

I guess that's what happens when it's a holiday weekend.

And unlike Leo, #1 looked nothing but ANGRY!

I also have a really sore back for some reason
:rolleyes1
Maybe David is why Jo has a back ache today :rolleyes1 :lmao:
:lmao:

Every time we stay in a hotel, I check the mattress out for bed bugs. Last year there were several stories on the news about people bringing them home. It can happen with any hotel - even fancy ones.
Thanks, M - now I'm packing tape every where I go! :lmao:

That's right. Where is LisaDKG!?!*?! (punctuation just for you V!) I can't remember who came up with the look. And what happened to our lime list? It just wasn't as funny as the original.?
Yeah, what happened to Lisa?? :confused3

I am trying to be patient... 48 days away... and it will be here before I know it. SO I keep telling my self when people are leaving for WDW..
I'm jealous! ;)
Ok---don't everyone die of shock--but I have UPDATED my TR!!! :yay: (and there's no bed bugs......at least I HOPE POR had none...I didn't know about the tape trick!):lmao:
I've been neglecting your tr, TE - I'll have to get caught up soon!:thumbsup2
We got a note home from school yesterday that there are 2 confirmed cases of, get this...moscullom contagiosum...Yeah, Jim and I had the same reaction:confused3 So we called the peditirician to find out if we needed to do anything. Jim's response was I am going to have a hard time telling the doctor about something that sounds like a Harry POtter spell. Anyway it is a rash that is viral in nature so there is really not much that can be done except washing hands, etc. Jimmy doesn't have it, but we called the ped to see if there was something we could do to prevent it, KWIM? This is the bad thing about daycare/school..you learn things about diseases you have never heard of and really didn't want to in the first place.
Ok, ewwwww!!!
T will be so disappointed.
I was, slightly....

I distinctly remember asking for every drug they had and gave clear instructions that baby was to be wiped off before being handed to me.
:lmao: And another reason why I love ya so much, I said the exact same thing... give me lots of drugs and no bloody baby!
I got rid of the second job last Friday, I was working 60+ hours a week and just couldn't take it anymore. I did the math and I will be fine getting together my tuition money on time with just the one job, which was my only concern since I made the decision so late in the year so had little time to gather together the tuition.
Holy cow, that's alot of hours.
Anyone heard from Mo? Wasn't she going to change jobs yesterday???
Hey!! WHERE'S MO????
I just wanted to stop in and say "hi" really quickly. :goodvibes
I only read back a page or two, so I'm sure I'm missing out on the fun, but I'll hopefully have more time to talk tomorrow. :thumbsup2
Hi!
Tomorrow is a mini DIS meet in NYC! So excited!
[/COLOR]

WHo are you meeting? :confused3

Ok, I'll share my baby stories too. I can't just resist any longer!

First one was induced, didn't work, after 30 hours on increasingly higher pitocin doses, they did a cesarean.

Second one I did NOT want a cesarean. I was in labor for 32 hours, pushed for six, ended up with another cesarean.

Third one, decided on a homebirth. 16 hour labor, had him under warm water, NO PAIN. That's right. NO PAIN AT ALL! My biggest problem was that I was afraid my butt was going to fall out, and I actually made my midwife watch my butt so that it wouldn't come out.:rotfl2: I pushed him out on my hands and knees after about 30 minutes of pushing. My midwife passed him to me through my legs and I brought him up out of the water. It was an amazing experience.

Fourth one....tell you about it in October! It'll be another home waterbirth, no stupid doctors for me. (Sorry if anyone here is a doctor! Since you'd be a DISdr, I wouldnt think you were quite as stupid!!:))

For those that might be wondering why he didn't drownd...babies don't breathe until they hit the air. Since he went from my body into the water, he never felt air until I brought him up a second or two after birth.

Ok, I feel better now. Had to get that out.

Water birth sounds very interesting, I had always wondered about the whole drowning thing and now I know, thanks!

Yup - I'm a stones throw from the Motherland. Well.. maybe not a stones throw, but I can get there in 2 shakes of a lambs tail. :goodvibes

Did you honeymoon in DLR or San Diego?

We honeymooned in both. We took out honeymoon a few weeks after we got married. We didn't have much money left for a hm after the wedding. DH was in SD for work, so I joined him at the end of his time there. We stayed at Bay Club on Shelter Island. After a few days in SD, we drove up to DL. We stayed at Grand Californian for a couple of days. Headed back down to SD and flew home. I had a good time, but DH was sick and didn't enjoy himself very much - poor thing!

Ah----it's good to be missed! :goodvibes

headed there momentarily :thumbsup2
I almost always have it open in a window, whether I am actually on or not is another matter. I just like to wander into my room and hit refresh from time to time to see if anybody has posted. So my total hours in which I am logged in is frighteningly high but the amount of time I actually spend reading and posting is much lower.
sounds just like me.... :woohoo: :woohoo:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Tracy.... T..... Can you add me to the 86'd TR list :) sadly I won't be able to make most of the meets... but hopefully there will be 1 or 2 on my first few days.. my dates are 24th to 7th

OK LADIES MAYBE I WILL STICK TO PUPPIES AFTERALL!!!!!

dunbar did you say you pushed for 6... hours or minutes?!?!?! straight?!?! LORD have mercy!!!

The women at my work have been lying to me about their experiences! Nobody told me these nitty gritty details!!!

I've always said I would get an elective c-section, my mom and 3 other ladies have had both a vag and c, and told me they would do a c-section again in a second, so I thought that was the route I would go from maybe the ages of 18- maybe about 8 months ago, when I found out about what the epidural really does, and I hate hate HATE the thought of being numb and can't stand the feeling either but everyone says I will want that needle in the end.

My husband and I are pretty much at the conclusion that I will go as long as I can and hopefully not need the epidural in the end but have it availible if I crumble and want it. I know they can't give it after a certain amount of time but I would like to assess whether I want it a little before my "cut off"

I know I won't be doing anything at home, I definitely want to be at the hospital, I am a freak, and I worry about heart problems, since my mom has them, and as it is now I have some issues with panic attacks and heart beating irregularities. I would be terrified that for some reason I go into cardiac arrest or something (happen to my mom with my brother and I am a total HYPOCHONDRIAC so I am scared I would be the same way)

I am starting to think about things and different options. I have heard of water briths before and have heard they are less painful and easier on mom and baby so I want to do my reasearch on those, and I've seen the "birth swing" too. The article I read (granted this was awhile ago that I read it)but you could do the differnt birth options at a hospital, so I don't know if it is an option only at home or if you can still find it at select hospitals or what....

I want to do as much research as I can before actually getting pregnant.

Thanks guys for sharing your experiences, I really apprecaite them, even though they sound a bit scary.

Oh, my turn, my turn!!!! First one was 1 week late, was finally induced - labored for 12 hours - 1 hour of pushing and DD showed up. Yup, took the epidural! :thumbsup2
2nd one, was 10 days late then induced. Went in the hospital at 8pm, put on pitocin and delivered at 2am - no epidural. Not because I didn't want one, because trust me, I needed it, but because it didn't work. By the time the anesthesiologist made back to my room, I had Evan in my arms! :cloud9:

Don't do too much research - once you hear all the details, you won't want to do it. But take it from a mom of 2, the pain is only temporary, but the payoff is a lifetime! :cloud9:

Baby story - THe day after Jimmy was due I was going to bed (11:00 on a Satuday Night) and I noticed bleeding--of course I freaked:eek: Called the Dr. told me to go right to the hospital which I diid. Took me in started doing all the tests..baby is fine yada, yada, yada. Once intern/resident/whatever (Jim and lovingly referred to the Swedish B****) started asking me questions and freaked out on me when I told her I didn't have amnio done. After like 5 minutes of her yelling at me I told her to get the **** out of the room. (Never saw her again;) ) Anyway, they decided to induce labor...yeah that worked well:rolleyes: Finally they decided C-Section becasue everythime I tried to push the babies bp would drop - not good. Anyway, 2:00am MONDAY morning Jimmy was born - on labor day:thumbsup2 [and they never did figure out where the blood came from..it was mine not his]

Yeah! Baby posts!
My first I was one week overdue... I went into the hospital at 6 at night to be induced and had her (9lbs,3oz) at 11:45 the next morning.
My second was expected to be big too, so I was induced at 38 weeks. I went in at 8am, an had her (I think I pushed 3-4 times) at 4:28pm. She was 8lbs, 1 oz.
My third was induced at 39 weeks and was born with very little pushing at 4:26p.m. (I went in at 8am) He was 7lbs, 11oz.

With all three I had an epidural. I tried to avoid one the last itme, but being induced, you can't move around to try to cope, so I got one 30 mins before the baby was born. I went from 5 to 10 cm in 30 mins. That's why I needed some drugs! :scared1:

Boy you had some BIG babies:scared1: Jimmy was 6lbs, 5oz.

How odd that your biggest baby was first. Mine went from big (8lbs, 7oz) to biggest (9lbs, 11oz) to big (8lbs, 7oz). I still don't know why #2 was so daggum big, I'm just glad the third one didn't decide to top it :rotfl2:

If all of them would have gone to 41 weeks, they may have ben that big, too! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
I'm just glad they weren't. I always tease DD#1 that it was easy to give birth after her big ol' head! :lmao:

Yeah soooo about my puppies!!! :thumbsup2

You guys are some strong mommas!!!

I worked with (she quit after the death of her second son at 6 months old because she wasn't there when he unexpectantly passed away and couldn't take being away from her other son) a girl who is having her 4th and all of them have been long babies and creeped from 9lbs up to almost 11!! And she had them all natural!!! She said she just prayed the whole time and gritted her teeth a lot.

I really wish I would be able to do it natural, just because I don't like no being able to move around. I wouldn't like having the catherder ( ok I know that is spelled waaaayyyy wrong) or not being able to move because of the needle in my back.

Oooh baby stories. I find it interesting what different things women go through. My first one, dd, was a few days late. My water broke at around 11:00 pm. at about 5 am they went to put an internal monitor in and she kept moving away from the poking. I was told she should have no room to move. They did an ultra sound and found out she was side ways trying to come out knee first. What we thought was her butt was her head. They knocked me out cold and did a c section. There are pics of my mom holding her in the nursery before I was even out of surgery.

With ds I thought I was in labor and the hospital sent me home twice and when ever I called they said not to come in until contractions were consistently 5 min apart. When I got there my water had broke and he was crowning. I had been in labor for 2 days after all. I pushed 3 times and he was out. The doctor barely made it for the delivery. While we were waiting the nurse would tell me don't push don't push. It is so hard not to push when you need to push.

I would take the laboring at home and natural birth over a c section any day.

Jo- Sorry to hear about baby Ben. He's so little! Oh, I figured out what a sneeze is--my poor innocent eyes! Now I can go back and reread the sneezing posts!!

Acejka (Anna????) I will PM you info about waterbirth. This is only my second day here, I don't want to scare the ladies away with my slightly hippyish ways just yet. :hippie:

Mel-Where in Oakland Co? We have a ton of family in that area.

Can someone please, please, PLEASE teach me how to do multiple quotes? I want to be fancy. Ive tried using that little button next to the quick reply, but then what do I do?
When they teach you will you teach me !!:rotfl2:

You can do it :thumbsup2 I had all 3 of mine without meds (only because my fear of needles is more powerful than the pain of contractions) and if I can do it, so can you. Trust me (because V was no where around to vouch for me ;) )
