Hello Fockers!

The reception story:
We didn't want to do the whole big wedding thing back in Boston (and let the mothers plan it, OMG) so we did the JOP thing in Peoria. We had with us: Bob's Bro, his wife Jen, my mom & dad, my gramma & grampa and my Bff, Jen. We had lots of friends in our condo complex so as a surprise they decorated the pool area (it was June in Peoria, and HOT) with balloons and streamers and stuff and got us a cake and champagne.
BACK STORY INTERJECTION:
Sadly, as is the case with regulatory boards staffed by members of your "peers", the small group of condo residents who made up the board of the association were mad with their newly found powers! They made enemies of us almost immediately because we refused to close our balcony door. Yes, you heard me. We wouldn't close our door. It was the only way to get a breath of air, and it was HOT! They constantly harrassed us and were just unbelievable. They (a group of 6 of our IMMEDIATE neighbors) did everything they could to get us evicted. Over our open door. :sad2:
OK BACK TO THE RECEPTION:
So, we got to the pool area and they yelled surprise (our friends, not the enemies of course) and we had cake and champagne. I was 20 yrs old. Not legal, though I would've been in 5 months. The police came to the pool area. They said the association called them to report an underage drinking party. I was the ONLY one underage. And the BRIDE!!!
I didn't have a glass in my hand though so they congratulated us and left. But first they told us that the association wanted us off the pool property. So we grabbed everything and went to our condo. I cried all day. :sad2:
The next day (while we were in St. Louis at Six Flags for our "small" honeymoon-we went to Disney later in the year) while NotBob's bro and wife were at the pool they called the cops again and tried to have them arrested for trespassing.

I try to not think about those things. My wedding was beautiful as far as I'm concerned and the reception was done out of such love for us. Those people will surely face their own punishment now OR later.....

Ok. So, that's the story.

MEL:banana:

Wow, I'm blown away by other people's ugliness, sometimes! I wonder how many of those people are still stuck at that condo, being awful to others. Nice life... However it sounds like your friends were wonderful to you!

We had a GREAT dinner! I had Ratatouille on a crepe with goat cheese. OMG was it good. KC had duck with a berry sauce that was amazing and Pants had a steak so tender it fell apart in your mouth. A great meal!!!

I did get to Target today too, with Pants. Friggin' $80 later we got out of there. Mostly snacks bought, and one book, and some tuperware and random house carp.

That sounds so good! I've wanted to make Ratatouille since the movie. Which, unlike Up!, I totally adore and I even went out and bought it.

Hey, anytime you can ecape from Tarzhay under $100 I call it a successful shopping event

What is everyone planning for Father's Day? We got cards, are taking NotBob out for breakfast and then he had requested some stuff at the nursery for his garden so we'll go get that.
Oh, and I plan on making a nice roasted chicken dinner that night too.

Well, everyone is sleeping still. Guess I'll go watch the news.

MEL:banana:

I've been up since 6:30, DH since probably 5:30. We are freaky early risers.

DH and older DD are watching Jurassic park and eating breakfast, I'm trying to figure out the closest place where I can pick up a Carvel Fudgie the Whale for celebrating FD today.

We're celebrating FD today since FIL and MIL are going to see a Broadway show tomorrow downtown (can't remember which one it is). We're picking up a carvel cake (see above), Williams Bros Barbecue (I'll call and order takeout on the way up), and driving to the IL's lakehouse which is about an hour north of here. I picked up BIL's gifts from his house yesterday since he can't ride his motorcycle with a Tassimo coffeemaker strapped to the back of it.

I still have to wrap all the FD gifts for my DH and FIL,, it was a loooong week and I was WIPED by yesterday evening. :scared:.

I'm a little nervous about my replacement at work, she likes to work in a very linear fashion-finish one task, start another. I'm much more of a throw five balls in the air and juggle them until they're all done, but I think there is more than one way of doing a job well so I'm being very careful to be supportive of how she wants to approach the job. I can't get her to keep her cellphone on the desk, though.. I'm ok with it (I think it's really funny!), but the boss and the ad director are very much concerned with decorum and they might embarrass her about it...

I worked 5+ hours every day, plus an hour each way in the car. The girls were in dance camp this week so I could work so many hours. I put 400 miles on my minivan in one week and spent 80 in gas (the minivan gets 30 mpg on the highway so sheesh about the gas!). The house is a total mess because by the time I get home I just want to lie down and not move for a while. Plus I've had my period all week which gives me headaches so I am SO ready for a week of sitting at the pool with the kids next week and being a total slug! :yay::cheer2:

Have a good weekend everybody! :flower3:

Never heard of Skype:confused3
It's a free telephone type service over the internet and you can call anyone who has skype free, that's how I'm doing the podcast recording tomorrow :thumbsup2

I start school on Moday! :scared1: I'm nervous but in a good way. :thumbsup2
Wow, good luck!!!

We got skype but we need to get a new webcam because it kind of defeats the purpose of web chatting if you can't see each other! I'll let you know!
I don't have a webcam either :rotfl2:

JO- I Skype! I started LY when my little "brother" was in Chilie studying abroad**! Sorry about bad day of play. Next time! oh... and ... can't you tell... I'm trying to ignore your dress request. ;):rotfl2:
Yeah search my email addie and you should find me oh and post your photo Missy :rotfl2:

Who would block you? :confused3
I meant to ask that too!

I'll PM you
Someone I know by any chance????

I went to school, where the class gave me a nice little ice cream gift card.
Awww that was nice, bummer on the laptop though :headache:

Did I tell you Doug wasn't happy about me rearranging the Netflix que? We should get the good stuff now.
Whoops :rotfl2:

I went for my annual OB/GYN and it wasn't too good !! I have to have a sono on Monday and have bunch of other appointments !! I'm hoping for the best !! But I seem to constantly have bad results in that department !!
Oh no Rosie hope everything is OK

I had to have an ultrasound the other day. Excuse me, no one told me it's not like it's shown on tv! Totally unprepared for that.
Sorry but :rotfl2: I've had 2 internal ones and OMG!!!!!

First, the good news! I'm not feeling sick anymore!
Wooohooo and wow on the wedding story whay are people so mean? :headache::hug:

We had a rather bad custody battle and some internet blogs were used in court. So I feel like I can be friends with *almost* everyone but I do have to be careful about what I say and post.

I do sometimes wish that I could be more open to you ladies here though
Don't be silly

We had a GREAT dinner! I had Ratatouille on a crepe with goat cheese. OMG was it good. KC had duck with a berry sauce that was amazing and Pants had a steak so tender it fell apart in your mouth. A great meal!!!
Sounds yummy!

Why, yes, NotBob!!! I do think it's wonderful that you have your watch alarm set for 7:15 am and you can sleep right through it! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Uh oh :rotfl2:

I've been up since 6:30, DH since probably 5:30. We are freaky early risers.
Yikes I was still snoring then :rotfl2:

I picked up BIL's gifts from his house yesterday since he can't ride his motorcycle with a Tassimo coffeemaker strapped to the back of it.
:rotfl:

so I am SO ready for a week of sitting at the pool with the kids next week and being a total slug! :yay::cheer2:
Enjoy, sounds as though you deserve it!

Errgggg I was woken at 4am by a blinkin fox annoying the girls rabbits, David shooed him away but then the rabbits thumped their back legs for about another 30 minutes as they were frightened! I've decided today is lazy day as this week has been hectic plus I really need to answer some questions, I still need to do about another 8 by tomorrow and I'm playing golf tomorrow :rotfl2:

After our "ceremony" (which was just us :cloud9:) we were on our way to lunch at our favorite restaurant in Georgetown (DC). We got into an accident and spent the rest of the day/night in the ER.
 Oh my!

I miss you and Mooch but I'm glad I'm NOT in FL. Whew! 93 degrees. Ugh.
It's nice in the pool. :thumbsup2

What horrible people! :headache:

I'm trying to figure out the closest place where I can pick up a Carvel Fudgie the Whale for celebrating FD today.
:rotfl2: Mel, remember Fred's story about getting one for his mother? Howard Stern reference if you listen. KJJ sounds like a fun day. :thumbsup2 We moved to Orlando from Memphis and there is no good bbq here  Never lived anywhere that had Carvel either. Maybe I should come visit you. ;)

Errgggg I was woken at 4am by a blinkin fox annoying the girls rabbits, David shooed him away but then the rabbits thumped their back legs for about another 30 minutes as they were frightened!
How did I miss you got rabbits? :confused3

I'm playing golf tomorrow :rotfl2:
Shocking! I was listening to the US Open commentary and one of the announcers says there is no way Tiger Woods can win. ANyone remember last year?

CE, did you see Nadal's out of Wimbledon? I'm so sad. :sad2:

Are the rabbits outside in a cage?

You deserve a lazy day! No golf, let those arms rest :)

whoopsies.

Mines does that all of the time with his darn phone alarm clock. @@#!#@#$@ I feel for you. Glad to hear that you are feeling good!
It is a nice casual place, I wore flip flops, it was heavenly.

That is great! We only have fufu :snooty:ones in this neck of the woods.

------------------------------------------------

Well it's baseball bright and early this am, then grocery shopping for me. DH is taking the kids camping over night and they are super excited! I don't camp. Outside at least. :rolleyes1 I am debating over whether I should scrapbook or hanging out with the neighbor girls over some wine, while they are away. ??? I didn't scrapbook last night... I hung outside with neighbors... in our driveway, drank wine, whilst the kids ran a'muck. Total WT. :rotfl2: The local police car drove throughout the neighborhood and we all laughed, wondering if they would stop and bust up our WT party. They did stop, but to call the kids over for stickers. We all got a good laugh.

Morning! Drive-by before my date with the sadistic trainer. I did yoga yesterday instead of hanging with her, so I'm sure I'll be punished. :scared:

Thinking I'll hit the pool after working out and I've got a nice night out with the girls planned. Tomorrow I'll remember dad with a trip to the beach - his favorite place. :goodvibes

Hope everyone has a great weekend! :grouphug:

How did I miss you got rabbits? :confused3
We've had them 3 years :rotfl2: How long do they live? I'm hoping 3 years :rotfl:

Are the rabbits outside in a cage?
Yep, 2 cages actually as they fight :sad2:

They did stop, but to call the kids over for stickers. We all got a good laugh.
:rotfl: You WT you :rotfl2:

Morning! Drive-by before my date with the sadistic trainer. I did yoga yesterday instead of hanging with her, so I'm sure I'll be punished. :scared:
Is it that bad????

Morning All!! This is Day 1 of my 3 days OFF!! :cool1:
Have fun and hope it dries up soon, it's great that Judy is doing so well. Anna on the Moms panel has had gastric band surgery so if Judy needs any advise for visiting WDW then let me know :thumbsup2

Um yea, they were bad. :sad2:
I sometimes go a month without checking FB. I like it better here (on TFW thread) than I do at FB :grouphug: I do sometimes wish that I could be more open to you ladies here though
 We love you. Don't you worry! :goodvibes

Why, yes, NotBob!!! I do think it's wonderful that you have your watch alarm set for 7:15 am and you can sleep right through it! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

So, I'm first. Not by choice though. Dang men. :headache:

We got SO much rain yesterday and last night I worried that I might have to build an ark! LOL. It's done now I think.

My tummy is still feeling good. I am so relieved. :worship: Having stomach flu is the WORST!!!

MEL:banana:
Ugh! Waking up to someone else's alarm on a Saturday? Blech!

For Father's Day we're going to church, then to lunch with K's sister and BIL. We also have a nice dinner planned. :thumbsup2

That sounds so good! I've wanted to make Ratatouille since the movie. Which, unlike Up!, I totally adore and I even went out and bought it.

Sounds like a nice weekend. :goodvibes

How annoying! Obviously you had it on there when you gave it to them.

Very smart! What are you drinking these days? I got some Bogle chard the other day. It's nice and not that expensive.

Muggy and 71! It's 92 here at 5.30.

Well, you should move here and then we could have wine daily at whenever o'clock.

Yep, pretty annoying.

We like red and tend to just buy all sorts of whatever. Last night we had a nice basic Rhone.

And I'd love to come drink wine with you! :goodvibes

I'm sorry you're grouchy. Have a nice night with the family.

Thanks, I listened to fun music when I went to pick up the food, which helped - until I got home and discovered that the boys had left their little lawn chairs out in the rain for the last few days. They use them and a coffee table for movie night, as a rule - sandwiches/pizza and my couch are not something I encourage. ;)

Hi CE! Sounds like a busy day. Hope you enjoy movie night.

I did, thanks.

I went for my annual OB/GYN and it wasn't too good !! I have to have a sono on Monday and have bunch of other appointments !! I'm hoping for the best !! But I seem to constantly have bad results in that department !!

Hope it turns out OK.

I hope everything's ok, Rosie! I had to have an ultrasound the other day. Excuse me, no one told me it's not like it's shown on tv! Totally unprepared for that.

:rotfl:My first couple when I was pregnant was like that. After a while it went to the "normal" kind, but yeah...

I've just awoken from a long, long nap. Just popping in to say hi ho!

Hi, Jen!

Mel....one eyed JOP and a weeping divorcee? Too funny. DH and I did the JOP, too. After our "ceremony" (which was just us :cloud9:) we were on our way to lunch at our favorite restaurant in Georgetown (DC). We got into an accident and spent the rest of the day/night in the ER.

We still curse the kid who hit us.

:scared1:

CE: Dang! Computers are such a pain.

Yep.

I'm concerned and the reception was done out of such love for us. Those people will surely face their own punishment now OR later.....
Yep. I believe in "behavior karma" (as in, I don't think health problems are a punishment for bad behavior, but you reap what you sow in relation to how you treat other people.) How nice of your friends to throw you a party! :)

I'm so sorry CE. I do hope you find your recover disk. I know this has gone on long enough for you.
The wedding book sounds interesting. What is in it?

I ended up just ordering one. I am SURE I made one, but oh well. Part of me wonders if it said it would need 3 DVDs or something, and I didn't have enough to do it, so I think I did, but didn't. :rotfl:

The book does have the typical biblical readings, but also essays, poems, other cultural things... We used an Inuit poem out of it for the back of the programs, and actually also used a Hebrew ceremony reading during the ceremony. (We had the church wedding, but neither of us are really traditionally religious, and my childhood minister was also a college prof who was cool with other views.)

It's cool. My BIL and future SIL are getting married at the Art Institute in Chicago, not in church, and her two aunts who are nuns got permission to do the ceremony, as it's not a Catholic church wedding. I think they might find something in it use. :thumbsup2

Dawn, I guess I look at Fb differently than you. I do use it to kinda keep up with people that I wouldn't normally talk to (i.e. HS friends, etc). I don't care what they are doing on a day to day basis but I do want to know if they are getting married, having children, or even when a classmate dies (which one did recently). Likewise I don't post personal stuff that I don't mind the whole world knowing but just general conversations and big changes in my life that would be considered general knowledge.
We had a rather bad custody battle and some internet blogs were used in court. So I feel like I can be friends with *almost* everyone but I do have to be careful about what I say and post.
That makes sense. I guess I CAN believe that blogs came into the hearing, but it's hard to think about.

I know sometimes "we" don't always post when we view, but when you look at this thread and see thousands more "views" than "posts" - I can be more open on FB, where I "know" who is looking. ;)

KC is mad for you as well and will help you if u need it. I'll get of my soapbox now!

Thank you both. I was just a little perturbed that they couldn't put a generic Vista back on - I have my files backed up here, so... Sigh.

We had a GREAT dinner! I had Ratatouille on a crepe with goat cheese. OMG was it good. KC had duck with a berry sauce that was amazing and Pants had a steak so tender it fell apart in your mouth. A great meal!!!
Yum!

My tummy is still feeling good. I am so relieved. Having stomach flu is the WORST!!!

Oh, and I plan on making a nice roasted chicken dinner that night too.

Well, everyone is sleeping still. Guess I'll go watch the news.

Woohoo! We are possibly meeting up with our holiday friends tomorrow - it doesn't look like boat weather. The boys have decided to do a Sports Authority gift card for D - he can get boat stuff there, or new running shoes (which he really needs) or whatever. But I need to go get that. :rotfl:

I picked up BIL's gifts from his house yesterday since he can't ride his motorcycle with a Tassimo coffeemaker strapped to the back of it.

But why not? :rotfl:

I know, me too.

Hi all. Had a bunch of quotes quoted and then the computer froze up:mad: Know that I read everything ::yes::

Last Tball game cancelled due to the rain...yes again. Hey CE, want to go in halfsies on an ark:confused3 So, we just went to the rec center where they play and the kids got their trophies and their pictures and the coach made cupcakes for them. AFterwards we went to Jim's parents to give his dad his FD gifts since we won't see them tomorrow.

We are going out to dinner later as a combo FD/Birthday dinner, but other than that we are just hanging out today.

Tomorrow Jimmy has a birthday party and I will be cleaning and doing laundry..exciting birthday eh?:lmao:

Here is Jimmy's baseball picture:

Jo, Cappucino and I are going to pretend you didn't say that you hope bunnies only live 3 years....:rolleyes1:sad2::lmao:

CE: Sounds like a good plan for FD. I used to do the little chairs/coffee table thing too! Of course, now my boys are 5 foot 1 and 6 foot 3 so.....

Dawn: Nice plans for FD for you too! Where are you guys going to dinner? Hopefully not the place from last week....

JVJen: Howdy WT! I always say we're not WT, we're WT with money. LOL I embrace my drinking in the driveway side. Keeps me humble. :rotfl2: Enjoy your night off whatever you do!

Janet: Cute pic!!!

V: Hi there! :wave2: I think your plan for FD is lovely. Have a good day and don't forget your sunblock! :cutie:

Rosie: Glad that Judy is doing so well. I'd have probably done the same with the pasta salad! :sad2:

************
Made it out to do the errands with NotBob. Got boneless porkloin slow cooking for pulled pork sammies and the kids are gaming. We're off to the spraypark in a bit (If SD's friend EVER leaves.)
Tomorrow's plans are going to be nice. Bfast out and then a bike ride for the boys. I'll watch the race while they do that! LOL

Mel:banana:

Sometimes you just gotta be mean Momma and say GET OUT!;)

Tomorrow's plans are going to be nice. Bfast out and then a bike ride for the boys. I'll watch the race while they do that! LOL

My neighbor was at the Pocono race 2 weeks ago. He has a house up there so he goes every year! He keeps inviting us to go, but I don't think Jimmy is old enough yet:confused3

Thought so :rotfl2:

Oh no, hope you get some nice pressies to make up for it and cute photo of Jimmy!

What???? :rotfl2:

Dawn: Nice plans for FD for you too! Where are you guys going to dinner? Hopefully not the place from last week....
McD's that made me sick or the after-recital dinner? The recital place is our favorite, but it's not here. Plus you-know-who isn't invited. It's Father's day, not crabby SIL day. :lmao:
