Kat- You should do a mini trip. Heck you can go out there for the day you are so darn close! It amazes me how quickly you can get from point A to point B out East. That would be a benefit for living there for sure!

I am thinkng of making a weekend of it one day at the end of summer. The issue is we have to take the Long Island Railroad, and it ain't cheap and it ain't fast! Getting around out there is car necessary so I'd have to look into rental cars. But I am def liking the idea more and more, esp. ebcause it's so close.

Went and saw Get Smart with Steve Carrell. OMG! I haven't ever laughed that hard at a movie! Go see it!

Then, I went out for dinner and pina coladas with my bestest bud meeskamouska! And tried a pomegranite cosmo. To die for!!!!

That movie looks really good! I am on a pomegranate kick myself, we have 2 differet flavors of crystal lite with poms in them! Yum.

Good morning all!

The family is having a yard sale today, all proceeds are going to be put into our dining fund for WDW. When I left for work this morning we had already made $25 and the sale hadn't even officially started yet. I hope that is a good sign about how things will go for the rest of the day.

Everyone's having yard sales.... think if I had a fire escape sale anyone would climb to the 5th floor?

So day 6 began with everyone showing up late. I was waiting out in the hallway and the office manager comes running to open the door. We all head in and I start to open the joint up (NO ). Then Itty Bitty Barbie told me TGB would not be in today. THEN you never guess what happened......
















..... Itty Bitty Barbie asked me if I was looking for placement after I finished my externship. I was stunned. First of all, extern sites RARELY offer students employment and secondly I am SKERRED to work there. I don't want to become Botox Latin Barbie! So, I did what any smart girl would do - I made myself as undesirable as possible... I told her I only wanted part-time work (thinking this would turn her off). Well, it didn't work. She asked me to write down the days/hours I would like and she'd work it out with me. D'Oh! What to do? What to do?

I came home and spoke with Andy about it. Sure, the extra money would be nice... for WDW... perhaps add a few days before at the Poly?? I've decided to take the position with 2 provisions... a.) Work only Tues, Thurs and Fri. 8-5pm AND b.) Require a minimum salary of "X".

I'm sure they'll say yes to "a" but they may hem and haw at "b". So we'll see. I also get free Botox injections. So come August, for those who I get to meet you may see me looking like this: when I'm meant to be looking like this:

OMG! I was cracking up so load I had to explain about the Barbies to KC. We both just have this image of the office from Nip/Tuck because we have nothing to compare it to. Good luck with it, I hope they pay you what you want, hopefully that'll make it worth going there! Botox is scary!

I am in a happy mood today! I got my tickets to the Stephenie Meyer Breaking Dawn Concert! It's a concert & book signing for the new Twilight book, the night before it comes out. They are giving out special edition book plates for her to sign that you can only get there! I am dragging KC along, he's not thrilled but he's going.

On the flip side I need to vent a bit...
Remember the guy who was fixing our taxes? Yea well now he's bugging KC to meet up with him today because he's "strapped for cash" and wants the $. He finished fixing the taxes and says he will explain what the problem was when KC sees him. I am just really aggravated that he is even asking for the money, I have expressed this to KC and he just stares at me saying nothing. He is either meeting him in the city or the guy offered to come here, if he comes here I told KC i will be out (I'll go sit in Starbucks or something) because I feel really uncomfortable about the whole thing! I don't want the guy in my house at this point, I'm hoping KC can convince him to go to the city. I feel like there is nothing I can do and KC is going to pay him and I am stuck and mad about it! Any suggestions? I really feel like KC just does't get why I'm so upset about it!

Here's what I suggest, Kat. Explain to your "friend" that you don't see why you should have to pay for his mistake. Be upfront about it. If he still insists on being paid, pay it. BUT, never use him again. And let him know that you won't use his services again. And tell him that it's disappointing that he's going to lose years of your future business over his own mistake. If he's smart he'll reconsider. JMO.

Well the show was nice, the photos didn't work as it was so dark and no flashes allowed, I have ordered the DVD so if I can work it out I'll post some. We then had a nice meal afterwards and it's nearly bedtime for the girls, Ellie's exhausted as she woke up at 5am due to excitement this morning

I hate people! Well today anyway. Or maybe just the tax guy. Apparently he is coming over, without calling KC back to let him know. So I am basically going to be run out of the house because I refuse to even deal with it at this point. PLUS KC is working right now! He's not off till 5pm, so I am probably going to get stuck going to the frickin ATM for the $. URGH. I wish Starbucks had free internet....I would bring the laptop with me, but I guess a book and my Ipod will do it. I really planned on staying in my jammies and cleaning all day (we are going to rip apart the kitchen and clean it to death). KC will have to deal with the reprecautions of giving this guy the money, like starving when he goes to Miami. Hopefully this will be the last of my venting, thank you again for listening.

Went to lunch with Murph today and then to Costco to get her a new TV, she got a 32 inch Aquos. It took about 5 minutes to set up and she thinks I am genius, she can't believe how easy I made it look. Not rocket science here. Attached the stand and plug the darn thing in.

So I have an exciting Saturday night planned. Yep on the couch with a sleeping pug on either side and the laptop on the lap while watching Ocean's 13. Oh yeah, don't hurt yourselves with excitement!

My boss got Botoxed in the forehead a few months ago - she HATED it! Said it felt like some foreign blob was stuck under her skin. She also couldn't get her eyebrow pencil on right becuae she could no longer raise her eyebrows. Just a little inside info.

But doesn't it blow your mind how eeeeaaaasy electronics go together nowadays? I remember there being so many steps and wires involved with getting the TV, VCR, receiver, turntable, cassette player and speakers set up!

DR is 3 and is my little mama's boy. Not much else to say about me but I love to read, scrapbook, shop and Disney.

I am currently in NC. I would have posted last night but I didn't feel great. Those of you who read my TR will remember that I have a habit of being sick on vacation.....

All better right now. We drove to NC last night in a CRAZY thunderstorm. Today we had another. I imagine that it's the same as FL. Every afternoon it just opens up. Kids are in jammies, watching Food TV. I'm on the bed with my laptop on top of a suitcase as a desk.

The NASCAR stuff today was COOL! I'll not go into details, because I'm saving them for the TR but you gotta hear this funny story. I ran out of deoderant this morning, so I told my DH that as soon as we were done with the race track I wanted to go to the pharmacy. We drive around for a while and NOTHING. No grocery store, no pharmacy, no Target - NOTHING! We stop and ask a couple of guys at the Verizon store (mind you this is not 500 feet from the LARGEST mall in NC....) where we can find one. They both give us a blank stare. They don't know. We leave and find two moms packing kids into a mini-van. They give us the same blank stare. They say there "may be a Food Lion grocery store about 10 miles away." Ok. We drive off the direction they point and in ONE MILE we find a Walgreen's. Across the street from a Rite Aid. HA! Is everyone in this town on QUAALUDES?????

Hope everyone else is doing well! Is it weird to miss your Focker friends? About every 12 hours or so, something funny or Focker related happens and I burst out laughing and have to explain to my DH or Ds's... They don't get it.

Yea so true! Turns out after all this we still owe the money they originally thought we owed and KC ended up lending him extra money!!! I can do nothing about it so I am moving on. We actually had a pretty nice day just being silly and laughing all day. He redeems himself with laughter, it's one of the main reason I love the bum so much!

Again thanks for letting em vent it all out, I'd have combusted if I didn't get it out somewhere!

Must be the day to get a new TV, Mo. My DH went out this afternoon to "look" at new HD TVs and what do you know?? He came home with a 46 inch 1080p flat screen TV! Of course, he got a "great deal!"

I'm not too upset though because he's been wanting one for a long time and did get a great deal. So, our evening was spent disconnecting and reconnecting electronic components!

Oy.

What a day.

I was awoken at 6:30 this morning when my house was hit by lightning. Yes, a direct hit from lightning.

Our electricity was fried.

We had to replace the AC control panel...as it was fried and wouldn't shut off.

The sprinklers also wouldn't shut off...and we'll have to replace that control panel as well.

Simultaneously popped several lightbulbs...that weren't even on.

And here's the greatest part...it fried my PC. So, I borrowed my father's until I can fix mine.

But...on a good note...I updated my TR. Yes, again. I"m trying to get it done before I begin my move!​
