Hi, all!

It's birthday weekend, huh? Today is my friend Dr. Belle's birthday, then Janet, then Kat... Fun!

V, thanks for the suggestions. My greys are really whites, too, so they do highlight nicely in the lighter colors. I don't know. Part of me thinks, just do dark and then forget worrying about it, but I'm only 36, ya know?

Our Ikea trip was successful. We returned the too-long shelf and came away with two dressers, a mirror and a tv stand for our bedroom. D's needed a new dresser forever - his is one that a former college roommate just left in an apartment and he ended up with it. It has no handles, is dog chewed (not ours) on one corner, doesn't match, etc. He suddenly came up with this plan to move our bedroom all about and put our old TV in there, too, which is good. I like the new dressers, and we can put mine into the guest room which has needed one for years, as well - since we get so much company.

Sadly, with me going out tonight and him flying tomorrow, it will be a few days before everything's up and moved.

So, my friend should be here in 10 minutes or so. Anyone want me to pick something up at the par-tay??? Even with the subject matter, I'm not sure it will top that Pampered Chef party for pure giggly fun.

Thanks everyone for the East Coast info. I think we are flying into JFK. I haven't figured out if we should spend that first night in NYC or tour NYC hard and head up to Connecticut??


Kat- the wine area of NY, is in the northern part of Long Island (I believe?). We visited the area years ago when my dh and I were just engaged...not married!

Some of the same DISers from our NYC meet...Kat (Beana) & Angela (camelotcats) and her HHBG. There will be plenty of pictures and maybe even videos taken don't worry!!

I think we'll stay home for the 4th (my favorite holiday!) and see our fireworks here with Gramma, then Leo and I'll head over to WDW for Sat. and Sun.
Unless I change my mind.

They just opened an IKEA in Brooklyn, I want to go but KNOW i will come home with lots of stuff... they even have shuttle buses from the subway tog et there for free for their grand opening! It's tempting.

Have fun at the party...you know we wanna hear all about it, and pictures would be nice too.

I left Long Island before I was legal age I guess that why I wasn;t aware.... now I'm thinking of planning a weekend getaway maybe in Sept or so for us...I love me some wine!

We had a great lunch/dinner and ate lots of yummy food! KC had bangers & mash & some haggis (I even tasted it, which is rare for me since I know what in it), I had wild mushroom mac & cheese and Pants had chicken curry w/ chips. For desert we brought home fried reese's peanut butter cups (sooo bad but sooo good). We had a nice walk and chat. Now what do you think KC is doing? Playing on his PS3....oh well...

Anyone else around this evening?

Just finished watching Camp Rock (think that is what they called it). For sure the newest HSM! Kids will LOVE IT! My ds and dd (tink) LOVED it! During one scene the main girl gets yelled at by her sought after beau and Tink CRIED! I mean Wailed-cried!


Kat- You should do a mini trip. Heck you can go out there for the day you are so darn close! It amazes me how quickly you can get from point A to point B out East. That would be a benefit for living there for sure!

Went and saw Get Smart with Steve Carrell. OMG! I haven't ever laughed that hard at a movie! Go see it!

Then, I went out for dinner and pina coladas with my bestest bud meeskamouska! And tried a pomegranite cosmo. To die for!!!!

Actually, the planters turned out very nicely. They look so pretty out on her deck. And the best part is that I can see them from mine too, since she lives directly behind me! We took them over and watered them and then just left. We've still got a little bit of money left so we're going to buy some restaurant gift cards for them to use for takeout meals when they need them.

Today is Ellie's show, David is only working a few hours so he's home in time, my Sister is coming too. I'm going to try and take some sneaky photos


Oh and I'm going to put this on the preTR but look what came today I didn't even know it was included in our package, we booked through WDW UK and it did say something about a backpack but I didn't know what it was!

It's a plastic backpack with WDWUK on it, a plush Mickey, autograph book, colour-in postcards, stickers, wallet, pencil, crayons, eraser and note pad

The family is having a yard sale today, all proceeds are going to be put into our dining fund for WDW. When I left for work this morning we had already made $25 and the sale hadn't even officially started yet. I hope that is a good sign about how things will go for the rest of the day.

We had a lot of fun, but thankfully my friend drove. The hostess kept not letting my wine glass get below halfway, and I hadn't had dinner. I was, um, happy. The consultant ("goddess") was really good, funny, and open, but it still didn't make me laugh until I cried, like I did at the Pampered Chef one.

D had to get up at 6:30 and fly. I was NOT wanting to get up, though I'm feeling fine, I'm just tired.

The boys have their last t-ball game today and then a party at another player's house afterwards. That should be fun, but I'm having a hard time getting my act together to pack up the t-ball stuff AND the party stuff (they have a pool, I said I'd bring chips, the boys want to change...)

It looks like a nice weather day, though, so that's good.

I did record Camp Rock, so we'll watch that tonight with D gone, and do our "pizza and a movie" since we didn't do it last night. How was it, those of you who saw it last night?

So day 6 began with everyone showing up late. I was waiting out in the hallway and the office manager comes running to open the door. We all head in and I start to open the joint up (NO ). Then Itty Bitty Barbie told me TGB would not be in today. THEN you never guess what happened......
















..... Itty Bitty Barbie asked me if I was looking for placement after I finished my externship. I was stunned. First of all, extern sites RARELY offer students employment and secondly I am SKERRED to work there. I don't want to become Botox Latin Barbie! So, I did what any smart girl would do - I made myself as undesirable as possible... I told her I only wanted part-time work (thinking this would turn her off). Well, it didn't work. She asked me to write down the days/hours I would like and she'd work it out with me. D'Oh! What to do? What to do?

I came home and spoke with Andy about it. Sure, the extra money would be nice... for WDW... perhaps add a few days before at the Poly?? I've decided to take the position with 2 provisions... a.) Work only Tues, Thurs and Fri. 8-5pm AND b.) Require a minimum salary of "X".

I'm sure they'll say yes to "a" but they may hem and haw at "b". So we'll see. I also get free Botox injections. So come August, for those who I get to meet you may see me looking like this: when I'm meant to be looking like this:

I say take the job for now if they meet your conditions but keep your eyes open for a position in an office that you feel would be a better fit.
