Had my first meal at a restaurant since starting this and im very pleased. Went to applebees and i got one of the 550 calorie or less meals. I got the dijon chicken. I didnt even eat the potatoes that came with it
Great work on the good choices out to eat. That can be so challenging, especially at that time of the month.
I You should be so proud of DS! And especially proud since he was such a gracious loser last year. DD got her HS swim team sportsmanship award last year and I was SO PROUD! I've told both of my kids..... I am pleased when they get recognized for school/activity accomplishments.... but I'm even MORE pleased when they get recognized for being GOOD PEOPLE! That is SO MUCH MORE important in the long run, dontcha think?? We are raising GOOD PEOPLE! Proud momma moment for you!!
Thanks pamela. I was so proud of him last year, he was so gracious. Funny last year, we went back for the finals and the awards to cheer everyone on, knowing he wasn't getting one, but this year, a boy in his den left early during their races because his car wasn't doing well, and the dad was mad he couldn't fix the wheel after the inspection. Another boy was crying he didn't get a trophy, so when I see things like that, I feel like I am doing a good job. We are definitely raising good people.
Good job using exercise to boost your mood! I did this the other day.... was feeling in a bit of a funk.... and decided to pull out the TM and take a walk (still to yucky here to walk outside.... slush, puddles, snowbanks, etc). After 30 minutes I was so happy with myself for making that decision! It made the whole day better! (It is warm enough to walk outside today, but pouring rain.)
How does your body react to all those carbs? When I eat like that now, I feel like I have lead in my system for DAYS afterwards. It is SO not worth it anymore (well, except for movie popcorn!

) ...P
Actually, I don't usually feel too bad unless I eat huge amounts. I think I've been on a cycle of a good week or two, followed by a not good week or two, and in doing so, I haven't really been in a good eating pattern faithfully for a while. Though before my trip, I did eat really well for about 3 weeks, and I did feel really good and I had more energy. It was good to get out yesterday, and I was definitely more patient. Ds had a slow adjustment back to reality, and it was hard to have such a busy week and not really have much down time til yesterday. Good for you for getting on the treadmill. That is some motivation in my book. During my training, I did the treadmill a few times, but preferred getting outside no matter how cold it was, as long as it wasn't icy.
Is there anybody out there?
Need some weigh ins!!!!!! I only have 13 weigh ins so far from Team DONALD!!!
The boards are still active!!!! Please send in your weigh ins by Monday at 7:30PM
Sorry tracey. Sent my pm. Thanks for the reminder for all of us forgetful losers. And thank you for being our weightkeepre.
well OK. I wasn't going to weigh in but I will! LOL
Good going! Hate that time of month thing. I laugh when I think about it. We had one lone guy in our WW class once and, to him, that time of the month was when his mortgage payments were due!
We are halfway, we are "taking inventory", seeing how we are doing and trying to conquer the "scale demons" (I call my eating disorder my lion - and have named it "Scar" from the Lion King) - now do you have some concrete plans to move on to the finish?
Do you have a set plan?
If so, what steps are you going to follow, this week perhaps, to put it in motion.
I am going to cook healthy meals, journal my food, drink my water, and get out for a run/walk at least 3 days a week, and do some form of exercise 5 days total.
Coming down from my disney princess high, I have decided that I will do a five mile road race in my town that we have during our family festival week before the fourth of july. My goal for running until then is to work on my speed, and I know that losing more weight will help with that, too.
I got a new princess running shirt that is a little too snug, so I want to wear that this summer.
Funny, last year, with thoughts of doing the princess half I was so good about getting out there and getting my runs in rain or shine, heat and cold, it was a great goal. I don't know if this june race will have that power over me, but eventually I'd like to do another disney half, and I want to be faster, so I'm not so nervous about being swept, and I'll have more time to take pics, so I'm keeping that in my thoughts too as far as getting the runs in.
For me, my first race is on May 22nd. Since the Disney 5k in January, I have just tried to stay consistent.
But I need to move beyond that - I need to do some serious training soon.
So for this week, I will:
a) carefully focus on mileage each workout
b) Chart food every day (plan at least the night before)
c) Try to do the HH challenge - that stuff is really excellent (have only really looked at it for the first time since I started "coaching") and exactly the kind of lifestyle changes I am looking for.
I would just be interested in knowing what some of you are doing.
You have a great plan for success. What kind of a race are you doing in may?
Opps- Realized it may be in the middle of my work week but its the weekend to everyone else.

I forgot and it is my weekend, so you're not alone.
I ended up making a pizza for the family tonight (DD had a craving).... but it was pretty lousy. I was using a crust recipe I got from allrecipes.com a few years ago. I've used the crust for breakfast pizza, but never for "regular" pizza. It ended up pretty soggy. It was low-cal and I measured my cheese portion carefully, so it wasn't off the charts or anything, but it was so lousy I shouldn't have bothered to even eat it after the first piece. DD thought it was so-so, DS liked it, and I didn't get a reaction from DH. I'll save the recipe, but mark it for "breakfast pizza only".
I made my couscous salad today..... YUMMMMMM! I had a half portion for an afternoon snack... definitely on the menu for lunch tomorrow.
P
bummer on the pizza, but that couscous salad sounds intriguing. Is it on the bl recipe thread? I need to get more adventurous with my cooking. I'll have to go over there and check out some new recipes.
Sorry I didn't get on this weekend. Busy with the muscial at the local high school. Crowds are growing and and the kids have done a great job. But I have been very busy with this and am very tired. They have one rehersal Thursday night without costumes so I don't have to go so I can go to yoga.
I hope everyone in the northeast is safe. we got a great deal of rain last night. We got some water in the basement and I was mopping up water at 10 last night. BY 11:30 it had stopped raining so the water stopped coming in. We caught it before it got too bad.
Sorry I can't respond to everyone. With the storm last night my internet got kicked off line and I was just able to get it fixed.
Stay safe out there people north of me.
Hi Dona. You always are so busy. Glad you can get your yoga in once this week. Sounds like you got slammed. We seem to be just rain, and not too bad, but I am bad because I read your post, and thought I'm going to finish posting and then check my basement. I have a sump pump, and am used to getting water, but need to trun on the dehumidifier. I still have a ton of snow in the yard. Spring can't be too far off.
Have a great monday everyone!! I'm going to check the basement now before I go to any other threads.
