TEAM DONALD--Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge

YES!!! The whole wheat with flax and fiber are awesome!! I also found the Arnold thins Fill Em's they are sooooo good!! I have to be careful that I don't eat the whole bag. :rolleyes1

So I ran/walked a mile in 16:03 today!!! :woohoo:
I didn't do C25K, I didn't have time today because DD had a dentist appt. But I did have time to run for 16 minutes! I'm so stoked.
I've got to get back on track for C25K, I'm really worried I'm not ready for Everest. I hope I didn't make a mistake by signing up.

I've fallen off the wagon food wise and it ran me over a few times! LOL I need to get back on track. I am just so sick of food and having to think about and overanalyze every bite.

I've always like the Sandwich Thins and Deli Thins, but I've been feeling guilty about buying them, since they do contain aspartame. But NO MORE GUILT!! I'm actually thinking of sending Arnold an email to let them know how pleased I am!

You are SO going to be ready for the EE 5K!! You will be surprised just how ready you will be by May.

Just wanted to let you know that DD and I have decided NOT to participate, even though we will be there that weekend. She is a swimmer, not a runner (and doesn't really like running) and even though we were thinking it would be SO COOL to try something new at Disney, our hearts just weren't in it. But we would still love to meet you and your DS.... even if it is just for a few minutes! When we all have our schedules mapped out, let's chat and try to arrange a time/place to say HI!

I'm so proud of all my Team Donald friends!! Great week!!

I figured out what I'm doing wrong! The shampoo I use in the shower that runs down my body says "For extra volume and body". I'm going to start using "Dawn" dish soap. It says " Dissolves fat that is otherwise difficult to remove". Dieting and exercise-- what a waste!

:rotfl2:

(a friend posted this on FB and I had to share it here!)

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Good evening Team Donald!!

I am back from WDW, and pretty exhausted. I thought I'd take it easy except for the princess, but that is hard to do there. It was truly an amazing experience, and it was so fun to meet Lisa and so many other wishers. This is truly a group of wonderful ladies.

My laptop won't let me online, so I'm on my very slow desktop right now, and I'm hoping this lasts til I can get the laptop checked out.

I'll be back later to give more details about the race, and to post some pics for you all. I ate and drank way more than I burned in my 13.1 miles, but am not going to step on the scale til friday, but I am going to get back on track tomorrow and start journalling my food again, and work on getting into Onederland.

Congrats to all the biggest losers this week, and the whole team for beating Mickye!!

I'm SO GLAD you're back!! I missed you! I can't wait to hear more about your race experience. I'm so proud of you for making the entire 13.1 mi!!!!! And DOUBLE proud of you for getting right back on track upon returning home!!

So the QOTD is a 2 part Question:
1.Do you add snacks into your day
2. Share your favorite snack/snack recipe

I have snacks "scheduled" into my menu most every day. Usually a mid-afternoon snack and an evening snack (more like a dessert). Most of my mid-afternoon snacks are fruit and/or vegetable. Nothing too exciting or difficult, but usually very healthy. If I'm feeling the need for some protein at snack time, I might include some hummus or some roasted chick peas or a bit of LC cheese.

Evening snacks/dessert are almost always a sweet/carb. Sometimes a Skinny Cow treat, sometimes a 1 pt english muffin with a bit of peanut butter or all-fruit spread, or Jolly Time carmel apple microwave popcorn (sounds weird but tastes good).

My best snack "recipe"..... top 5 melba toast rounds with Laughing Cow light swiss cheese (1 wedge, divided). Top the cheese with a dab or so of pineapple mango salsa.... enjoy. Counts for 2 points on WW.

Gotta run.... overslept a bit today (feeling lousy and trying to ignore these cold symptoms that are hitting me today). TTYL....................P

Okay ladies..... this is SO nerve-wracking.... but I'm posting before and after shots. This before shot is a NIGHTMARE..... I actually physically cringe when I look at it. The ONLY reason I never destroyed it is because it was a keepsake photo taken of DD and I at our first Mother/Daughter weekend. DD looks SO cute and I.... well..... all I can say is ICK.

Probably at near my largest in May 2002:

Good afternoon TEAM DONALD!

Congratulations to all our superstars and especially to our biggest loser, disney1990! :cool1:

Congratulations to all our HH winners too! :thumbsup2

Everyone should give themselves a big pat on the back for sticking with this and still being here! :cool2:

I figured out what I'm doing wrong! The shampoo I use in the shower that runs down my body says "For extra volume and body". I'm going to start using "Dawn" dish soap. It says " Dissolves fat that is otherwise difficult to remove". Dieting and exercise-- what a waste!

:lmao::lmao::lmao: If only I'd known it was so simple! :rotfl2:

Welcome home, Kathy! Congratulations on finishing your first half marathon! princess: You should be very proud of yourself!

Hi Dona! Thanks for your kind words! :flower3:

.

I do plan for a snack in the afternoon when I get home. That time between when I bring DS home from school and dinner is "the witching hour." I could easily eat a whole meal's worth of calories without thinking. I now make sure I have something in the plan for this time, it might be popcorn :goodvibes, veggies and dressing or even just having my salad early. I also move up dinner time if needed.

Thanks for coaching this week, Abby! :flower3:

Pamela, I don't cringe when I see your before picture -- all I see is your lovely smile. :goodvibes And you look beautiful now -- the same lovely smile, just much healthier and happier looking! You should be proud of yourself and all you have accomplished. You are an inspiration to us all! :thumbsup2

Have a great day DONALDS!

We will definitely meet up!!
I'm so nervous about EE. My foot was getting better then he added some stuff to the back of the insert and now I'm back at square one. I've pulled the stuff off the insert but now I'm in pain for most of the day. I don't know what the heck is going on.

And I just can't push past this mental block I have about food. I have got to get past it and move forward.
DH is coming home tonight though and will actually be home for a week. It's been almost 3 weeks since he's been home. I'm hoping he will help me around the house and with the kids so I can concentrate on me for a bit.

ETA: you look amazing btw!!!

:wave2: The exercising thing is really cutting into my slacking off and being lazy on the DIS time! :surfweb:;) Especially since I have told myself I can't have any fun DIS time until after I work out.

Got a late start today but am really happy about the time I put in and I went back to Wallyworld and bought a few more of the $6 t-shirts in a smaller size then I have been wearing. Getting dressed in the morning has actually become almost absurd. I wouldn't have thought that I would have this drastic of a change so fast. I still haven't made it to Goodwill yet. I think I have enough jeans to hold me until summer and then I have plenty of shorts in several smaller sizes (I am a packrat and don't get rid of stuff!) and tshirts. For some reason I just don't have much for right now.

Is it really weird that I am really looking forward to the day that I have to buy new underwear in a single digit size?:confused3

My scrapbook stuff is pretty much packed for the weekend. I can't decide if I want to work on Disney or Baby stuff (I am realllllly behind) so I am going to take both but leave one in the car and switch it out if I get bored.

:woohoo: I am so excited to be the 1st Runner Up!!! :woohoo: My week was positively affected in a negative way by my stomach issues but as long a it stays gone I am fine with it! I could be down another 2 this week but I have a feeling my scrapbook weekend may affect that. It sort of depends on how things are set up. I actually tend not to eat much when I am scrapping since I can't just have food mindlessly there while I work, and when I get busy I lose track of time.

I'll be back later to give more details about the race, and to post some pics for you all. I ate and drank way more than I burned in my 13.1 miles, but am not going to step on the scale til friday, but I am going to get back on track tomorrow and start journalling my food again, and work on getting into Onederland.

I am almost to Onederland so you better get that race spirit back on and come after me! ;)

So the QOTD is a 2 part Question:
1.Do you add snacks into your day
2. Share your favorite snack/snack recipe
Absolutely :thumbsup2 Snacks are just as important as my meals. Today I left the house right after lunch with a lunch bag with yogurt and celery and pb. My snacks almost always contain a protein, and usually a veggie of some sort. My go to snacks are: veggies and hummus or PB, a salad with some meat and cheese, stuffed mushrooms, yogurt, cottage cheese and fruit, a snack size portion of leftovers, some nuts, sugar free pudding, a low fat Starbucks Mocha, or a protein shake. Since I am actually working out now I have to remind myself to increase my snack and add in a carb to compensate for the exercise.

One of my favorite snacks lately seems like it would be icky but it is really great! Take a piece of low fat lunch meat (ham is good) and spread with a bit of cream cheese. Put a dill pickle spear in it and roll up. http://kalynskitchen.blogspot.com/2011/02/easy-recipe-for-ham-and-dill-pickle.html I don't cut mine up, I just throw a few in a baggie and throw in a bag with an ice pack and enjoy when I need the pick me up. You can also add a lettuce leaf around the outside and of course there are tons of variations.

Wow - thanks. I joined the gym 2 weeks ago and I guess it is working. At this point, I have started off slowly. I basically walking for about 35 minutes, but about every 5 minutes I put up the speed and run for a couple minutes.

Hmmmm, there may be something to that strategy because I have done the exact same thing! Joined the gym about 2 weeks ago, starting slow with 30 mins on the bike but for 3-5 minutes I go as hard as I can. I did a full upper body workout with the weights for the first time today. I suspect I won't even be able to move my arms tomorrow!:rotfl: I go to the training class for the lower body and abs machines tomorrow so I will be able to add that in.

Okay ladies..... this is SO nerve-wracking.... but I'm posting before and after shots. This before shot is a NIGHTMARE..... I actually physically cringe when I look at it. HI team Donald :D I'm the newest member of the team I suppose lol

I'm looking forward to joining the challenge :D

Evening Donalds

Been busy here as usual. Still suffering through the remodel at Target, and debating with myself on whether I should sign up for 2 3am days when they bring in ALL the fresh groceries:rolleyes1

Anyway, I am back on the workout wagon, which I had been off of for quite awhile on a consistent basis. Just got Powerfit Harmony to ramp up my routine and am on disk 2. Had to wait until new sneakers got delivered as my old ones were beyond shot:rotfl: So this new program is 10 disks with resistance bands that I can go up or down with as needed. the first 2 disks do not look like they'll be my favorites but time will tell once I get the routines down. That first disk is going to take me months to get down:lmao:

Anyhow, are we still racing to onederland?

I'm in if we are. Was at 209 even before I worked out this afternoon. Been hovering around there for a little bit now give or take a few. Hope the workouts kick in for Friday's weigh in:thumbsup2

Good Thursday morning Team Donald.

I can't believe that it is Thursday already. As long as the days have been while we have been testing this week has flown by. We have our unofficial opening night tonight. Senior citizens are coming for the show so we can have an audience. They are also the ones who will come back and fillin the seats because they want to see it again.

welcome spark19

Don't have a lot of time this morning. Last day of testing and then I have a dr appointment to check my bp. It was fine last week but as we get closer to the appointment it has been going up. Not a lot but we may have to tweek my medication.

Have a happy and healthy day.

so I just going to do A QOTD and be back later to post!

DH is coming home tonight though and will actually be home for a week. It's been almost 3 weeks since he's been home. I'm hoping he will help me around the house and with the kids so I can concentrate on me for a bit.

It will be nice for your DH to be home, Buffy. It is easy to totally lose yourself when you are the only adult around! ;)

Is it really weird that I am really looking forward to the day that I have to buy new underwear in a single digit size?:confused3

Nope, nothing makes a girl feel special like some new undies! :thumbsup2

LTS, I feel the same way. I don't want to hide behind a kid or a character!!!

I know what you mean, Buffy, we only had one kid so there was sometimes a subtle tug of war! :rotfl:

Congratulations to all our WIN!ners! :cool1: If you aren't doing WIN! yet, this is a great time to start. It is nice to have another way to measure success.

Great question, Abby!

Eat less. Exercise more. Feel fabulous!

Have a great day DONALDS! :donald:

Good morning everyone!! Thanks for the warm welcome back and congrats.

I did get back on track yesterday and made a quick grocery run, totally stuck to the walls, dairy, meat, and produce. I am going to stay on track and totally see ONE-derland this spring.

I did step on the scale and was up 6.2 pounds to 210!!! EEK!! Today was 208, and I know a lot of is is fluid. The rest is alcohol.:lmao: But is was a fabulous trip. I think I may do a trip report so that I remember all the details and have it all recorded. I know as each day passes, I will remember less and less of the details.

Pamela Thank you for sharing your before and after photos. You look amazing, and when I saw them, I got all filled up and inspired. You give all of us hope that we can do it too. I look at myself now, and think I would be happy in the 180s, and then I saw you, and how far you have come, and maybe I can do better than 180. Any thing is possible. Thank you.

LTS- I'm coming after you!!!!! And just so you know, your good little angel did notstop on my shoulder in Mexico sunday after the race to remind me to control it with the chips. But I didn't care. I was celebrating. And now I'll let you back in my head the next time there is guacamole in front of me.

Hello to everyone else!! Back to that annoying work place. Have a great day!! Drink that water today!!

Hi Lisa!! I'm following you today, but now I have to go!! Unless you want to go to work for me. ;)

Dona keep us posted on what the Dr says.

Today is a good day! Today I have my list of things to do, I have workout next on my list, just trying to hydrate before I go run. The foot hurt a bit when I got up but as soon as I put my shoes on I was good to go.

the QOTD is
What is your 6 word Success Story?

My 6 word success story is:

Making positive changes for myself & Family.

LOL not counting the & as a word!

Is it really weird that I am really looking forward to the day that I have to buy new underwear in a single digit size?:confused3

I can remember the day I decided I needed to buy new undies. It was AMAZING to me that EVERYTHING had gotten too big.... jewelry, undies, even some shoes!! When it is time, splurge and buy some nice stuff!

:woohoo: I am so excited to be the 1st Runner Up!!! :woohoo: My week was positively affected in a negative way by my stomach issues but as long a it stays gone I am fine with it! You are adorable in both photos! What a great inspiration. On my "goal" list is that I want to go to Disney and get photos taken with all the characters at a weight that I don't have to be embarrassed about and actually display them.

Adorable is SO NOT the word I would use to describe the before photo. I remember just feeling GROSS.... embarrassed, uncomfortable in my own skin. I always felt like that was NOT the "real' me! I wanted to tell people that I wasn't really the person they saw.... that I was really a fun, active, smart, slim person stuck inside this horrid body!

I am looking forward to more character photos when I go with DD this coming May. DS wasn't too into the character photos on our trip, but he put up with a few to make me happy!

HI team Donald :D I'm the newest member of the team I suppose lol

WELCOME!! Target has a great scale selection. I've had good luck with a Weight Watchers brand.

So after reading an article on Sparkpeople and taking 3 days to figure out my 6 word success story :) (I am a tad slow some days)

the QOTD is

Move more, eat less, be happier. (Well... that was a quick one... didn't think much about it.... maybe I'll come up with something "deeper" later.... ).

I must say, I know that being SLIM is NOT the key to happiness. If you have reasons in your life for being unhappy, being slimmer isn't necessarily going to change those other things. It isn't going to change an unhappy marriage or problems with your inlaws, or a job you hate. But I truly believe that happiness with YOURSELF can help you deal with these other problems more effectively.

Good morning everyone!! Thanks for the warm welcome back and congrats.

Those travel pounds will be gone in NO TIME! I'm sure of it. I can't WAIT to read your trip report and see photos!

Thanks for the kind words about the photos. It is SO scary to put them up there, but I really did it to hopefully inspire some folks just starting on this journey.

Back in January of 2008, my goal was to just not go back to Disney bigger than I had been on my previous trip. That goal was low 170's and I made it to about the high 160's before my trip in May. I remember feeling SLIM and WONDERFUL!!

When we returned from that trip I did something I had NEVER done before..... I got RIGHT BACK ON TRACK with my Weight Watchers plan and my exercise. My next goal was to hit 145.... that was slightly higher than my wedding weight (which seemed totally unattainable) and it seemed like it would be a good place for me. But I hit it and kept going!

Those who know me (like the veterans here), know that I have dropped my goal weight a few more times, but never quite hit it. While that is a frustration at times, I try to keep in mind that I am SO MUCH BETTER off trying to maintain at my current weight than to give up all together because I can't hit that final goal. Sure, I still have that "number" in my mind and I still feel like someday I could see it..... but honestly, if it is THIS HARD to get there, I can't imagine that I could maintain it for long.

Well... good Thursday morning folks! Vacation week is winding down. We have a "free" day today (nothing scheduled other than swim practice and laundry). Tomorrow DS is skiing with a friend and then Saturday DD is going to a big championship swim meet to cheer on a friend. Church on Sunday and our vacation week is officially over. :sad2: It flies by so fast. But April vacation will be here before we know it!

I've got a cold, but not feeling too terrible. I'm going to hit the TM for some incline walking.... not up to running today. Then I might ignore the laundry waiting to be folded and hit the scrapping table for a few hours!!
