Team 8 Jessica's Rabbits Bios and Info

Darcey: I say go for it ;). That'll add up the miles in the fall for you LOL!

OK team....we better get our butts in gear here. Some of our competition in the snow belt today are posting 5 hours and more of snow shoveling!!! Anyone on our team shoveling/scooping/sweeping snow today???? I wish I could say I am; however....we're getting ICE today instead. A nice thick layer covering everything. The snow may bury us before we get started! :lmao:

Anyway...good luck to everyone getting the miles and hours in this week. I'm off to a good start with an hour of pilates/yoga this morning. I'll be hitting the ski machine for some more time and miles later...or possibly even slip and slide my way to the FC to jump on the treadie for a 4 mile run. Hang tough Killer Bunnies!

Craig...I'll just email you my weekly totals on Thursday! I may post now and again to update my week though :).

Darcey

Absolutely go for it. Then you can sleep on the flight home.

Also, I went ahead and posted my effort today, just so we would have a score in the spreadsheet. Can you tell me how to input the hours? I ran 5.1 miles in about 51 minutes. I could put in the miles but not the time. Any hints?

Okay all, send me your results next Friday or after for Feb 1 through 7.

Craig

Craig - Time is entered as hh:mm...You would enter you 51 minues as 00:51 and it should be formatted properly.

If I do Goofy, I'll have to stay solo at Pop. I've been spoiled by the Poly and the monorail.

Snow shovelers right here! DH (tiggerspal222) and I each put in 45 minutes this morning trying to clear the driveway.

I am sooo done with snow....

:worship: Go snow shovelers!:worship:

Sorry I don't have anything to shovel around here, except my own cr@p that I happily dish out.

STEVE AND KRISTA: Since it will be difficult to keep your head on straight and eyes open once the little urchin pops out, running may be the last thing ya wanna do....I wonder if some arrangement could be worked out where you get a mile for every poopie diaper changed? ;)

I'm Jeff, and I'm disgusting.

Krista - if you want someone to sub for you during "maternity leave" my DH can jump in...

actually if everyone ever needs a sub - he can easily fill in....

no snow here...just kids with no school today (in-service day) so my first contribution will be tomorrow morning...sorry Friday is always my rest day b/c my little one is not in school on Fridays....

Hey Craig are you going to set up the training thread or would you like one of your rabbits to do it?
Well my hours and miles for Friday are 1hour 15minutes and 12.83 miles. Planning on trying to do as much or more today. Well I have to get over to work.
Erin

Today I logged 100 minutes. 1 mile. No, it didn't take me 100 minutes to do one mile. I did 40 minutes of cardio--ran a mile, 10 min on stairmaster, 10 min on elliptical and 10 min on bike. Then took a 60 min yoga class.

Tomorrow I'll get about 90 minutes. 30 min of cardio where I'm hoping to run 2 miles (gotta build slowly) and a strength class at the gym.

No snow here to shovel. And I'm happy for it!! We got quite a bit of rain. I'll catch up in the fall when all the leaves come down and I'm out for several hours just raking. Yipee!

Let's get 'em, rabbits!

Awesome job!!

Don't forget that the miles logged on the elliptical, stairmaster and stationary bike all count towards the team's miles goal...so be sure to track those too :goodvibes:

Hi team

So...I know we're not technically keeping track here but I thought I'd pop on and let you guys know what I've been up to. Unfortunately...it hasn't been running but between yesterday and today I've logged 3.5 hours of XT and 7 miles. I'll be running tomorrow, albeit a very short and quick one since I have to head into NYC in the morning. So I'm just going to get in what I can do to add to the team.

Hope everyone is doing great!!! Enjoy Super Bowl!

Steve: Bike Trainer question! Are you happy with the current trainer you have? What brand is it? I'm thinking about getting one so I can get back on my bike, seeing as I have to train for the Tri...but the weather is just no cooperating. Any advice would be appreciated! :goodvibes

Good Question Erin

I think next Friday I'll change the title of this same thread to Team 8 Training Reports. This way everyone can give me their miles and hours for the week of Feb 1 through 7.

By the way, I've tested Darcey's great spreadsheet by input of Martha's and my training from Friday and today. Since I'm the only one testing, we are in first place right now!!

Craig

Hey guys! Hope everyone's having a great weekend. I'll have you know that our little miles game here is the ONLY thing that gave me the motivation I needed today to get out on the bike. It was cold--about 33 degrees with a wind chill much colder, but I got out there and cranked out 20 miles so I'd have some actual miles to report. So maybe this game is a good thing. :)

Amy--I have a Cycle Ops Magneto trainer, it's a magnetic one and it does the job just fine. Apparently, the fluid ones are even better, but since I have never had one, I don't know the difference. Krista got it for me as an anniversary present and I love it. I will admit that "rides" in the basement get a little monotonous (hence my 20 miles outside in the freezing temps this morning), but I usually put on a movie and just spin. I'll put on my heart rate monitor so I can check my effort since it's tougher to gauge how hard you're working when the thing is stationary. I do know this--when I get done with an hour spin on the thing, I actually feel like I've been on an hour-long ride, so I suppose it's probably working the way it should. I'm no expert on the thing, but if you have specific questions, just let me know. By the way, when's the first tri this season you're targeting? I need to find one around here, but I haven't spent enough time looking at race calendars.

Craig--since I'm bad at following directions, let me get this right--you just need us to e-mail you our weekly hours/mileage after each week, right? We don't actually have to put anything into some master spreadsheet somewhere?

Have a good evening, guys!

Steve

Hey y'all did good today so take tomorrow off and rest. Have some wings and beers and watch the football. Really it's ok, you will make it up next week.

Hello Steve

I believe Darcey has the spreadsheet access so only she and I can update it. Appropriately, since we know what happens to the sanity of expectant fathers.

I am happy to take the numbers each week in 1 of 2 ways. Either post it in this thread, or e-mail it to me at:

stephenson@babson.edu

I'll pick the data up and input it all into the score sheet.

Craig

Hi gang, just stopping by. Got 10 miles in 1:54 and did 30 min mowing - does that count as XT?

The game is wrapping up, and I'm looking forward to the training that we are all going to post this week. Steve's already shown that this contest/project has given some motivation, so

:cheer2: GO RABBITS!! :cheer2:

Have a great week, all, and stay healthy! I will try to keep Mel from racking up the miles for that 'other' team. I think I'll keep telling her she looks tired and needs to rest.:faint:

We can count elliptical miles too? SWEET!!!

Krista

Howdy team! I don't have too much to add tonight, in fact I have ZERO miles to add to our total for today. Glad I could do my part. :) Just wanted to see how everyone's week is going. Hope you guys had a good weekend.

I did get in a 9 mile run yesterday. The legs felt good and I probably could have gone further, but I figured why push it?

Good luck this week with all the training. Talk to you guys later!

Steve

Hi Team

I've been keeping a separate log of my workouts...Craig...I'll mail you the totals on Thursday evening. I've been doing a ton of XT but not much running. I'm hoping to get back at it this week!!! I only did 3 miles on Sunday....what with the festivities of the day (Yay Giants!!!) and so forth...just couldn't do a real long run. But I managed 7 miles on the ski machine!

Hope everyone is doing great! Can't wait to see how we do our first week in!!!

I managed to squeeze in 2.5 miles last night. It's been a busy beginning of the month for me so far. I've had sick dogs and my first and probably only neice was baptized this weekend. :cloud9:

Question: Does stair climbing count? For instance if I was to spend 20 minutes on my lunch hour climbing the stairs where I work, does that count?

Thanks and here's to a more active week! :yay:

-Susan
