I am sorry if you think its wrong, but we have had three teachers in the 11 years I have been teaching retire, and die within 5 months and they never took a sick or personal day while they work. My new motto is LIVE and do it NOW.
Just my opinon.

Several years ago I was in graduate school with another teacher. I was a single mom of two and was teaching full time and working on my PHD in Early Childhood Ed. My friend was putting everything off until she earned her PHD.
She died of complications to diabetes shortly before she turned in her dissertation. She had never married, never had children, all because she wanted to earn that advanced degree first. It was so sad when she passed away because I know she had so many dreams to fulfill that she was putting off.
Life is a huge balancing act. I plan for the future, save for retirement etc. but I also try to be sure and LIVE NOW because none of us are guaranteed another day.
