A Starbucks gift card and a box of homemade peppermint bark?

Skip the Starbucks card and get something more generic like Target or a book store. Personally I can't stand Starbucks, Caribou yes, Starbucks no (actually I prefer Dunn Brothers but they aren't everywhere). :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 to the peppermint bark though.

It would make me happy also. But I love both. Isn't it the thought that counts anyhow? Go with what makes you and your child happy.

I would love :love:the gift card & appreciate the homemade peppermint bark, but I would end up putting it in the Teacher's Lounge. :teacher:

I get wayyyyy too many goodies given to me & my DH doesn't even want me bringing any more home. I don't blame him. But thank you anyway.

:) I feel like I'm stalking you.....I keep quoting you on different threads..lol I'm not... really!

Anywho, before we moved here, we had taken a Spring Break trip here to the Mall of America....dd16 was 12ish at the time and BEGGED for Caribou...we finally got it for her and she took one sip and got this God awful llook on her face and wouldn't drink it....she thought it was awful!! HOWEVER, now at 16 she LOVES it....doesn't care for Starbucks either! :rotfl:

I however, HATE coffee of any kind..

sorry to hijack, OP!! I think your gift sounds fine!

The Starbucks card would be greatly appreciated (Dunkin Donuts too :thumbsup2). I'm not too keen on homemade foods though.

I did something similiar last year...Starbucks cards and biscotti...and I have NEVER had so many thank you's from a teacher gift. They LOVED it!!

If there are plenty of Starbucks close by, I think it's fine..:santa:

Just make sure your teacher is a coffee drinker. I am not and I always give away my Starbucks/Dunkin Donut gift cards. I really don't care for "consumable" gift cards. I am okay though with homemade goodies.

I'm another teacher who gives away Starbucks gift cards. Of course, they are easy to give away.

I think any gift card is generous and appreciated. But as a teacher, I rarely eat homemade treats sent in and most of my colleagues would put the treat in the teachers lounge too. I suggest staying away from homemade foods.

Peppermint bark is a yuckyness to me, so I would toss it if my student gave it to me...but I am not opposed to homemade treats. I almost always eat one of whatever it is (including peppermint barf) in front of the kiddo so they can see how much I appreciated their (ie mom's) effort!

I love GC's to our local movie theatre, Coldstone Creamery, Chilli's...

This will sound cliche- but it's the thought that counts. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I can always get a hot chocolate or tea at Starbucks. I've never had peppermint bark, but I would try it, and if I don't like it, stick it in the teacher's lounge. The thing taht would matter the most t ome is that you thought enough about me to do that.

DH (teacher) gets lots of Starbucks cards for Christmas & end-of-the-year gifts. Funny thing is, he's a coffee drinker but doesn't like Starbucks. I guess because he's a man, it's harder to find a teacher gift, so he tends to get lots of Starbucks cards. At one point he had 7 of them in his wallet unspent! The kids and I started spending them. He's down to his last card now and the last time I used it, there was $38 left on it. He'll probably get it spent just in time for Christmas when guess what? He'll bring home another 4 more cards! :rotfl:
