Teachers discount at Disney Swan

I have read that some disney hotels including the swan offer addional discount to teachers, armed forces personel etc. Does anyone know if this includes UK teachers?

As far as I am aware yes it does, you need to provide some form of ID, showing your employment status, and a pay slip as well upon arrival.

Yes Im sure it does, we have a sticky thread at the top of the forum concerning all discounts available at The Swan, I have copied the part about teachers for you below, hope this helps.

Teacher and Education Support Staff Discount
All teachers and educational facility administrative personnel (includes colleges and universities) can take advantage of the TEACHER discounts. If you are a teacher with a certified teaching certificate, or you are employed in a school as an educational facility administrator you can take advantage of the TEACHER discounts .This would include teachers, teachers aides, substitute teachers, and administrative staff. These job types will require
a Work ID or letter from supervisor on company letterhead stating employment or a recent Pay Stub.

Not quite the same job, but i managed to get the nurses rate for our trip last December. I took along my NMC registration card which was accpted with no question. It doesn't specify US teachers only, so i think you will be ok. I guess if worried, you could phone, just to make sure.

Even though I'm not supposed to take it out of the UK, I used my Government ID card to obtain a Government discount last year with no problems whatsoever.

I didn't know they honoured UK Civil Servants. Wow. Something to think about for next time round!

I used the teacher rate when we went in 2003. Just be wwarned though that they don't always have rooms available at this rate. Ring as early as to be sure to get the rate. I took a letter from my boss to prove I am a teacher. They never asked to see it.

In fact, a few years ago, I visited a US Junior High school and got treated like royalty - the US schools don't have a governing body for each school - the have an elected school board for the whole district - so I was equated to a member of the school board

We stayed at the Dolphin from Dec 27th 2005 for 8 nights with a teacher discount. Had proof but was never asked for it.
