Sorry for 'stealing' your thread![]()
But does any of you know if you have to be a teachter in US to get discounts? Or can a Danish teachter get discounts too??![]()
Call the resort at 888-828-8850 and request info on code TEACH. Rates can be as low as $129, although that will only be during the least busy seasons. You'll need to bring some type of proof of profession (pay stub, school ID, etc.) at check-in or the rate won't be honored.
That is kind of crazy since we are working during the least busy seasons. That is why it is not busy the kids are in school. Thanks for the info.

$300 a night higher than your teacher rate
Also the reservation must be in the teacher's name.
To get Starwood points the teacher must have the Starwood card.
I,DW, have a Starwood card, but DH, the teacher, did not have his own Starwood card. I had to get one for him to earn Starwood points.
Live and learn.
We will earn about 5000 points when we complete our Dolphin stay this summer. Good for a $50 gift certificate from Starwood sponsors - such as GAP & Brookstone.

Are the Dolphin and the Swan the only resorts that give teacher discounts? My husband and I are 30+ year teachers so can not go until summer, but we stay at other Disney resorts so we can get the dining package.

My wife is a teacher and she gets the park tickets at a substantial discount by purchasing them through her teachers union.
I'm not sure of what the rate is, but its something like a weeks worth of tickets for the price of 3 days (and it applies to everyone in our group).

I'm a RN at a State hospital. I don't get a check stub. I have direct deposit. I do have an ID badge with my name, picture, and the hospital's name on it. Would that work? Also I believe the Swan/Dolphin also offers discounts for state employees. Since my hospital is a state hospital (although it's in Texas) would I qualify for that discount and if so are the discounts the same or is one better than the other?
As far as I know the Swan/Dolphin are the only resorts that offer the Teacher's or Nurses discounts. The Disney owned resorts offer discounts to military personel and I believe travel agents and airline employees, but not to teachers or nurses.
Only if your membership status is Preferred Plus, Gold or Platinum.A little off topic, (but maybe not since I have a ressie at Dolphin using the teacher discount). Does having a Starwood membership ensure an upgrade if one is available?
