So I have ding on my laptop and they just started dinging (hmm, that sounds wrong) for our travel dates (well the 1st half anyhow).

So do you just grab the Ding fares when you see them?

What if a new lower fare comes out? (There seems to be a range for the flight I want based on past Ding fares).

How do you deal with that?

Do you buy the second set then cancel the first? Then you would have to pay for both, right?

If you cancel the first set and then buy the second so you can apply the TT funds isn't there a chance you could miss the 2nd one and end up with no flights.

Is there a trick to this I am not seeing? I hope.

Thanks in advance for your time on this! :)

Hi Haley,

If you've already purchased your airfare and then a Ding is released just go to
Travel Center page on SW website and pull up your current ressie. Then, open a new window and pull up the Ding that just came out. So, now you have the two windows up together. Put all the info in for the Ding up to how you're paying for it and then go to your first window and cancel your original ressie and get your ticketless travel credit. Now go back to the Ding window and the ticketless travel funds left from the first fare should show up as available for the Ding fare. Sounds like it takes a lot of time, but, it doesn't really if you have both windows up together. Just a minute or so. If your current ressie is a round trip just make sure you cancel out the correct leg of your trip......I've heard some people have cancelled the wrong portion and then ended up paying more to rebook......

Thanks Donna, that is exactly the info I needed!
Now I just need to hope for a great fare...

Donna,
I tried to do that in a previous ding, but I wasn't able to find an option to cancel half of the reservation. The only option is to cancel the round trip which I couldn't do.

However, what I did was to go to travel center, picked "cancel Air reservation", instead of pulling out my reservation first, was it the difference?
