When and how do I get signed up for this tea with Wendy? I had seen it on the boards before but can not find it now. Do you know what day it is on? We are on the West coast 7 day cruise.
My kids read something about a toad race or something like that. They said it is first come first serve to be the families doing it. Personally I would like to know what it is before I agree to doing anything with toads.
Are there any other cool things like this?
These discussion boards have helped us so much to find out about all the things we missed on our last cruise.

OUr tea with Wendy, was on a sea day..Forgetting which one, but the tickets do go quicky enough. I would go straight to guest services, as this is where they are given out. I believe there are two different times, but they really go quickly, and there is no charge..

Sorry about the other question. No idea..

DCL DVD? Travel Channel? Passporter?
Anyway, since we haven't gone on our cruise yet, I have researched my head off--it seemed to me that toad races are a lot like horse races on other lines. In other words, wooden animals. Surprisingly lots of fun!
Maybe a Castaway Club member can confirm this??!!
Happy cruising!

Tea with Wendy--go to guest services on boarding day and ask for tickets. It is held on sea days. On our last 7 day, it had become so popular that they did it twice. This will be primarily of interest to the under 10 crowd. 2 young boys are chosen to act as Wendy's brothers, so don't assume that it is only for girls! It lasts about 45 minutes, and each family can take a photo with Wendy. Note--Peter Pan is not a part of this.

Wild Toad Race has nothing to do with toads. They are toy toads, and the racing is a combination of figuring out how to make the things work and more than a little luck. It is fun, but really not a skill thing as the "toads" don't always cooperate. I truly don't remember whether they were wood or plastic, but are hooked to ropes. By moving the ropes, you make them "jump." DD did enjoy it. This will be listed as a family activity in the adult navigator which you will get the night before the event.

Tea w/Wendy...not a highlight IMHO...one cookie and cold tea..why did I wait in line to sign up and in line to get in? Even DD was bored stiff!

Toad races...lots of fun...in atrium...first come first serve for sign up. We were there early (before the race showed up) but found that some dad's get pretty pushy at sign up, so bring a DAD and get there early!

There is also the vegetable car building in the lounge one afternoon (we missed that one).

Also a scavenger hunt one night after dinner...this was lots of fun (we won!).

Also a family craft one afternoon (day at sea) which was little foam doorhangers...everyone in the place made a mickey one.

There seemed to always be several options per day of family activities!

Do they do the tea with wendy on the 4 day wonder?????

Yes they do. It is on the sea day normally around 11:15. As stated above you will need to get tickets on your first day and you need to get them early!

When I looked under activites I saw Tea with Wendy listed under the 3-4 activites. So you do have to sign up???? AND can adults and other children go also, I did not see it listed under the 5-7 activties, but I have a 5 year old that would love to go with her 3 year old sister.

I was on the June 25 - July 2 Mexican Riviera and boarded in group one at about noon. I went to Guest services at 1PM (before the time listed on the navigator and asked about tea with Wendy tickets as well as bridge tour tickets - they gave me both right then - no line.
Tea with Wendy was OK - my 4 year old did not seem to love it but told people about it when we got home and claims she wants to do it again. They seet you in Studio Sea acording to the number of people in your party. The people in the back can see fine plus they have a monitor in the back so you can watch that if you need to. Wendy enters looking for her brothers for tea. Can not find them so she selects two boys to have tea with her. She seats them on stage with her and tells them about the tea and cookie and how to use a napkin. Then she leaves the boys on stage, stands up and tells a story about Peter Pan and the Lost Boys... while moving around the stage and room. That is very short. THe remaing time is spent in line for pictures and autographs.

We found the Toad racing by mistake - we were walking by and saw the cart in the atrium. They take the first 18 racers. We were racers 8 and 9. They race 4 at a time and try to keep similar ages together. On my cruise there was a group of app 3-4 yr old girls, 5-7 yr old mixed, 9-11yr old mixed and one group with 3 - 7 year olds. Each group races and the winner of each race races all the other winners for a final race and Wild TOad Champion. My 7 year old was the grand champion on our cruise and got a trophy.
The race is set up in a traveling cart. Four wooden frogs are on ropes. You sit at the end of the rope and pull it. THat lifts the frog, when you release the rope, the frog falls flat and that moves the frog. THe fun is that if you pull to hard he twists and flips over so it is a gentle pull.
Before the final race they let four of the parents try it - I did not get to do that but it was fun to see the parents had a harder time than the kids did!

I believe that on the Wonder it is part of the kid's club programing for the younger age group. Adults area always welcome to observe in the club and you may be able to sign your 5 yo into that group if you are there with them as a visitor for that one activity.

anyone else with info about tea with wendy on the 4 day wonder. If it is in the kids program then I would not have to sign up right. As long as she was registered in the kids program.
