Tea with Princesses

Last year I took both DDs to this. It is way overpriced!!! Be prepared for this. It was older DD's birthday on the day we went last year and they did make a big deal out of it for her, but she felt way out of place as she was older than most of the girls there (at 10). She had fun but said she didn't want to do it again. DD7 is more of a pirate girl and she was way out of place. She hated it, couldn't sit still with brunch (which we didn't have breakfast before we went and she couldn't wrap her brain around PBJ sandwiches for breakfast). This was a bad choice for our family, we won't do it again. About the dolls. Both my DDs have AG dolls and they don't care for the Disney ones. The hair doesn't feel the same and is kind of difficult to manage. These dolls just kind of sit up on the shelf and collect dust that I have to clean. Oh Well!! For some I suppose it is the experience of a lifetime and I think it is wonderful for them, but for us, just a bad choice and expensive one.

We had a wonderful time. The look on my granddaughter's face was worth the $$. It is crazy expensive, but if you can swing it, you won't be disappointed.

I took my DD last year when she turned 4. I think it's a bit over priced but well worth it. My daughter and I had the most wonderful time. I had a pink princess dress made for her and she did not feel out of place at all.

I took my DD there when she was 4. She would have enjoyed it more at 6 I am guessing. I wasn't bothered by the price but the food was underwhelming. It is true that Aurora isn't there for a long time and there are I am guessing 30 little girls that want time with her. I didn't think we got any more time with her at our seat than at a character meal. She was in the room and did a little parade around with all the girls but the interaction was minimal. It really isn't tea with her she comes in at the end.

I got amazing pictures and that made it worth the price :rotfl:!

If you have extra cash I say do it but if it is something you have to stretch to pay for I think there are better places to put that money that will be just as memorable.

The Wonderland Tea Party with Alice was a LOT more fun for my DD she went at 5 and just loved it.

Yes, it is crazy expensive, but my dd had a ball. She turned 5 while we were at WDW in January, and this was part of her birthday celebration.

BTW, the doll you receive is NOT an American Girl doll, though she is the same size. (I believe she is a My Disney Girl doll.) While she is quite lovely, she is nowhere near the quality of a real AG doll. I just wanted to make sure that no one was disappointed by this.

Here is an excerpt (and picts) from my trip report.

The Perfectly Princess Tea Party at the Grand Floridian was just adorable. There were only about 20 girls there, mostly with their moms, all decked out in their Princess finery. Each girl was announced before entering the tea. She was given a tiara and showered with rose petals by our hostess, Rose Petal. When they got to their seats, there was a My Disney Girl doll (similar to American Girl) dressed as Sleeping Beauty awaiting each little girl. They were all so excited! Then, when they opened up their napkins, each girl found a charm bracelet. “Ooooooh!” They were given “magic tea” (apple juice) and the moms got real tea. Julia insisted on adding several lumps of sugar to hers! She had such fun having a real life tea party. The girls had little finger sandwiches cut in the shape of hearts and fruit to eat. (Most of the girls received PBJs, but we pre-ordered a jam only plate, as Julia is allegic to peanuts.) Rose Petal told them the story of Sleeping Beauty, and they all sang some songs. Then, all the girls gathered in the center, and Aurora finally made her appearance. She was gorgeous, and the girls were all so happy! They all danced with her, and then she came by each table to talk with the girls individually while we had some cake. We were also given some scrapbooking materials to take home with us. Now, this tea was RIDICULOUSLY expensive, but Julia had the time of her life, and it was so sweet to see how truly excited she was. And it was her birthday, after all… ;)

WOW!!

I'm wondering this too. We're doing the tea next Wednesday and I was going to have my daughter wear a beautiful pink Gymboree party dress with Rose Petals (she's 4). Now I'm thinking that she may be more comfortable in an Aurora dress.

Please let me know what you think about it when you get back! Will probably just give in a get her one but I always like to be a little different! Hope you have a wonderfuly magical time!!

That doll is beautiful, anyone know if she is sold in the parks? I have a MyDisney girl doll, but she doesn't look like that one.

I did see other My Disney Girl princess dolls and outfits sold, but I did not see any Sleeping Beauties. This one must be unique to the tea. princess:
