Has anybody ever done this? My sister has booked this to take my daughter and neice to GF and have tea with the princesses. Its basically with Princess Aurora, and you get a tiarra, and doll, a flower, and they have little pb & J sandwiches shaped like hearts and princess cake. Very expensive $400.00  for the three of them. Just wondering if anybody has done this, and is it worth it? My daughter will be 4 and my neice is 7, and just wondering if they will enjoy this. Thanks for your help.

It is WAY overpriced but... the reactions of the kids is amazing (and the doll they get is nice)... these girls are in the perfect age range to enjoy the heck out of it... it's a really special thing to do if money is not an object.

Seems a little pricey to me as well. I'm sure someone here could figure out the pricing value. Those three could eat at a character meal, buy the doll, and the princess accessories elsewhere, and probably come out less expensive, yet still have a memorable time.

The doll you get is an American Girl doll of Princess Aurora. I did this with my niece. If you don't have the money to do this it's not on the HAVE to do list, but it was definitely worth my money.
The girls are just entranced. As they walk in, rose petals are sprinkled on their heads as they are "crowned" Princess "Claudia", in my nieces case. The tables are lovely with tea services for each person and they are shown the proper way to make tea, with a little strainer, sugar cubes etc. A bracelet falls out of the wrapped napkin.
The entertainment is excellent and Princess Aurora spent a little extra time with each girl.
I would say not to go for the food. The cake was delicious, the little sandwiches could be better. I'm VERY glad I did this with her.

I took my then-5 1/2 year old daughter to this a few years ago. At first, I was VERY hesitant because of the price. But as my husband said, "just book it and don't tell me how much it costs because I don't want to hear coulda, woulda, shoulda..."

My daughter absolutely LOVED it. The tea is hosted by Rose Petal, an amazingly talented woman who keeps the kids (and parents) entertained through most of the tea until Aurora makes her grand appearance. The girls are treated like royalty from the moment they arrive, addressed as "Princess this or Princess that." The doll is a beautiful Aurora doll (the size of American Girl) plus each child gets their own crown and charm bracelet. And a certificate to go upstairs to the gift shop for basically scrapbooking items.

The food's not much to speak of, but my daughter enjoyed her "apple" tea, drinking it with pinky properly extended. Finger sandwiches, fruit, and such rounded out the meal plus an overly sweet cake we didn't eat.

But for pure pleasurable experience it was worth it all. The setting is beautiful. The hostess entertaining for all ages. And each girl is involved. Plus everyone really spent quite a bit of time with each girl individually. It was a great way to cap off our trip. We did it on our last day there so we weren't rushed and it was a wonderful way to end the Disney experience.

One more thing: If the girls love to dress up, bring their costumes. Most girls arrive in full princess regalia and if they aren't prepared, can be quite upset not to look the part. Have the discussion ahead of time and plan for it.
My daughter's not the costume type so she opted to wear her Easter dress. She looked lovely but the two young girls I saw who arrived in shorts had a little melt down when they saw how the other girls were dressed.
Plus, on a catty note, I was a little surprised how casual the mom's were dressed. I took it as an opportunity to teach my daughter that sometimes it's worth it to dress up.
These girls are the perfect age. I hope you let your daughter go. She'll love it, I'm sure.

It's totally expensive. And totally worth every penny IMO. My DD will only be a little girl who loves princesses for awhile. It was the highlight of our last trip!
We booked it with the rest of our ADRs at WDW-Dine I believe.
Definitely have them wear a princess costume! I'd say all but 3 girls were in princess costumes at our tea.
I will also caution--I heard several people express disappointment about Princess Aurora's small role--she is NOT there at the beginning, or for the majority of the tea. Rose Petal is the host. And she is great! But she's not Aurora. Aurora only is there for maybe the last 1/2 hour.

Last year I took my 4 yr old DD and we both had a ball. My daughter loved the attention she got. She was dressed in her "pink" princess gown as were most of the other little girls. If you have the money to do it I would definitely recommend it. I am taking my DD back again this year on her 5th birthday.

As the previous poster said, the food was not the greatest. For the cost of this, I felt that the food should have been better. That's not what makes the experience.

Thanks, I just called the Disney Dining, they are only booking up to the week before we get there...so I have time. It usually comes to about $239 total for 1 adult/1 child.

My DGD who will be 4 1/2 in October will love this, I'm sure!

Yes, it is crazy expensive, but my dd had a ball. She turned 5 while we were at WDW in January, and this was part of her birthday celebration.

BTW, the doll you receive is NOT an American Girl doll, though she is the same size. (I believe she is a My Disney Girl doll.) While she is quite lovely, she is nowhere near the quality of a real AG doll. I just wanted to make sure that no one was disappointed by this.

Here is an excerpt (and picts) from my trip report.

The Perfectly Princess Tea Party at the Grand Floridian was just adorable. There were only about 20 girls there, mostly with their moms, all decked out in their Princess finery. Each girl was announced before entering the tea. She was given a tiara and showered with rose petals by our hostess, Rose Petal. When they got to their seats, there was a My Disney Girl doll (similar to American Girl) dressed as Sleeping Beauty awaiting each little girl. They were all so excited! Then, when they opened up their napkins, each girl found a charm bracelet. “Ooooooh!” They were given “magic tea” (apple juice) and the moms got real tea. Julia insisted on adding several lumps of sugar to hers! She had such fun having a real life tea party. The girls had little finger sandwiches cut in the shape of hearts and fruit to eat. (Most of the girls received PBJs, but we pre-ordered a jam only plate, as Julia is allegic to peanuts.) Rose Petal told them the story of Sleeping Beauty, and they all sang some songs. Then, all the girls gathered in the center, and Aurora finally made her appearance. She was gorgeous, and the girls were all so happy! They all danced with her, and then she came by each table to talk with the girls individually while we had some cake. We were also given some scrapbooking materials to take home with us. Now, this tea was RIDICULOUSLY expensive, but Julia had the time of her life, and it was so sweet to see how truly excited she was. And it was her birthday, after all… ;)

Any way you can do this without getting the doll. It's not really the price that bugs me, but my girls don't need another AG-type doll. Would WDW substitute anything for it or lower the price? I'd be happy with the Sleeping Beauty dress for their AG dolls, but don't care about the doll itself. Just thought I'd ask.

Mammaof2princesses, those are absolutely the most precious pictures. Anyone who is even considering this would be sold after seeing your daughter. Our children grow up quickly, what a wonderful experience for you and your daughter. Thank you so much for sharing. I did not do this with my now grown children, not sure if it was available, but I do love going to the tea at the GF. princess:

We (Me, Daughter 4, Hubby)are going to the tea party in November. I wanted to make a "princess dress" (not necessarily Sleeping Beauty) for my DD as opposed to a store bought dress. Would she feel more "in place" if she was in a store bought dress to match Sleeping Beauty? Would she feel out of place in something different than everyone else?

I'm wondering this too. We're doing the tea next Wednesday and I was going to have my daughter wear a beautiful pink Gymboree party dress with Rose Petals (she's 4). Now I'm thinking that she may be more comfortable in an Aurora dress.

We did it 2 years ago. Our daughters were 7 & 9 yo. My only problem was the food served. I am inhalation allergic to peanuts, which means I can't even be in a room where it is being served. Just breathing the air of peanut butter can put me in the hospital.

So I made the reservation for the tea party, paid for it, and my husband got to take the girls, while I cried in my beer hanging at the pool. Honestly, I was so sad at missing this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for them, I cried the whole time.

But I'm so glad we were able to provide the experience for them.

BTW, my husband LOVED being the only man there (besides the piano player)!

I also remember that boys may attend also, but I forget what their gift is instead of the doll.

That doll is beautiful, anyone know if she is sold in the parks? I have a MyDisney girl doll, but she doesn't look like that one.
