TCKK Family August 2008 Trip Report Part 2

AKL is so beautiful! We've eaten at Jiko but not Boma. We may need to add it to the list! :thumbsup2

I love walking through Mexico. The colours are so vibrant. We didn't ride the refurbed Gran Fiesta but hope to next time.

I enjoyed a AKL and Boma pictures. It's nice to see Kelli's drawings again. I am having big time Disney withdrawals along with the rest of you. I finally finished my Universal and Kennedy Space Center reports. Today I started on the Disney report. I enjoy doing the report but it sure takes a lot of time. I have a new appreciation for everyone else's trip reports. I am REALLY enjoying yours. I love all the pictures. Thanks for posting.

Your daughter is really talented. I mess up just drawing stick figures! I have enjoyed all of her drawings! Wish I had her talent!!! :goodvibes

Thank you for the compliment, but I know what you mean, I can't draw either. I'm pretty proud of her and I think her drawing is pretty awesome too.
My mom collects the birds and other ceramic animals located in the Mexico marketplace area; she buys one every trip.

Your DD said those aren't finished? WOW - they look wonderful to me!

Those animals are really cool. I don't own any, but it was fun looking and taking pictures. Thanks for the compliment on my daughter's drawing.

As you can tell, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We've never tried Jiko, we may have to check that out next time.

I agree about the colors. Mexico is always a must see for us. And the refurbed ride was really nice too. Although, I can't say which version is best. It was just a nice pleasant way to get out of the heat if nothing else.

I'm glad you're enjoying the report and pictures and DD's drawings. Disney withdrawal is not a fun thing, but thank goodness for the DIS and everyone's reports. I agree, the reports do take a lot of time but I'm glad so many people are doing them, because they do help with the withdrawal pains, at least a little. I'm glad you started your report. I just went over and joined in. Looking forward to hearing all about your trip.

I started to do another update last night and photobucket was down at the time. Anyway, I thought I'd post another drawing by Kelli so you don't forget us until I can get the next update done. ;) Hopefully the next update will be either later tonight or tomorrow sometime.

I'm trying to figure out why your photobucket pictures are showing up on my school computer. That's never happened before! I love it, but I don't understand it.

When I looked at our our report, I'm not seeing the pictures, but on yours I am. That's weird, but I love the fact that I am sitting here looking at your Mexico pictures again! :) (The kids are having Fun Friday, so it's all good.)

After we left Mexico we walked around to France. Kerri loves France and couldn’t wait any longer to go there.

This seems to be the photo everyone takes. But I still think this spot is so pretty.

I think this window is so pretty, although with all the reflections off it it’s hard to tell.

I’m not sure what happened to this photo but I think this guy is so awesome.

After Kerri shopped for awhile, we left EPCOT out the back gate and took the boat to DHS and then caught the bus back to POP. Here are some pics from the boat. These resorts are so beautiful.

Evidently there was a wedding, but I wasn’t quick enough to get a better picture than this. I think I was too enthralled watching it go by that I forgot to take a picture until all I could get was this.
IMG_0986.jpg

We went back to POP and went swimming and rested for awhile and then next headed back to Magic Kingdom for EMH!!

We left POP around 6:30 by bus and headed to MK. Just before we got there it started pouring the rain. Guess where our ponchos were. You got it, back in the room!! :rotfl: Anyway we waited under the cover of the bus stop until around 7:30. The rain let up and off we went for a night of fun!

The first thing we did was go to Tomorrowland to see Monsters Inc. This was really a cute show. Here are some pictures from the queue area.

Next we went to Cosmic Ray’s for dinner. I didn’t take any pictures for some reason. Then we got our EMH bracelets and then rode one of my favorite rides, Buzz Lightyear!!!

IMG_1001.jpg

When we left there the girls picked up this guy. He’s cuter than most the guys they try to pick up!! :lmao:
IMG_1004.jpg

Then came the fireworks. We were not in that great a place for them. I think we were heading towards Fantasyland. The view was ok, but after a couple of minutes we headed on to Fantasyland and rode a couple rides. After all, we had 6 or 7 more days to have an opportunity to see the Fireworks from a good spot.
IMG_1005.jpg

IMG_1006.jpg

First we rode Snow White. Who knew? They used me for the model for the Magic Mirror. lol

IMG_1010.jpg

Then we did Peter Pan.

IMG_1017.jpg

Next came Haunted Mansion.
IMG_1018.jpg

Then we got a drink at Pecos Bills and the girls checked out the lines at Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain. They said the lines were too long and they didn’t want to wait. We then headed over to POTC (no pictures this time) and also rode Aladdin’s Flying Carpets (no pictures of this either) Then Kelli got an ice cream on Main St. and Kerri bought some Cotton Candy on Main St. and then we headed back to POP for the night. This day started early and we all were too tired to stay any later for EMH. I think we only made it until around midnight this night. Here are a couple night shots.

Enjoying the pics, especially of Mexico, so colorfull. The man with the chairs looks so entertaining. :wizard: I wish that once upon a time my Princess Lexi will ride in that carriage to meet her prince charming in a Disney wedding. And we all live happily ever after. :lovestruc A mom can dream :lovestruc

Sounds like you truely had a magical day. Enjoyed the pictures of the castle at night, the Peter Pan shots and the pictures taken at Snow Whites ride.

Great pictures! You got good inside-the-rides pictures, which I don't ever seem to get. Also, you did a great job getting Buzz's facial features. Almost everyone seems to him as just a white blob since he's so light/bright. What's your secret?

The drawings continue to brighten my day. I love clicking on and see a new one!

Fantastic update. Do you remember what day it was? I was looking at the acrobat climbing the chairs and I think that's what he had on the day we watched. I also remember that it poured rain that day. Only the second time during our trip. We hid out in Japan for a bit to let the storm pass.

My fav park combo Epcot and MK.

Another great drawing by Kelli, and I am looking forward to your next trip update.:surfweb:

Thank you. Kelli will be pleased.

I have no idea why you could see them. Maybe the good Lord knew you needed a little Disney boost and let you see them. I don't know but I'm glad you enjoyed them.

Thank you. I love Mexico too for the same reason. I've seen the guy with the chairs before, but he always amazes me. I'll add a little wish too for your Princess Lexi to get to do that too. Nothing wrong with wanting your daughter to have a happily ever after. In fact, I'll wish it for my 2 DD's too. pixiedust:

No secret that I know. It just seemed to work. Maybe it's because I took so many, that I guess a couple just had to come out right. There were many more that didn't. I mostly just put the camera on night shots and then turned the flash off for inside the dark rides if they said no flash photos. As for Buzz, I can't remember if I used flash or not. I'm thinking no. Can't remember. I took several, and this is the one that worked.

Thanks Pooksma. The day was Friday, August 8th. And I agree, that's my favorite park combination too.

Hi All

Just wanted to say we'll hopefully be back later in the week. Due to Ike we had really bad winds here on Sunday and Duke Energy has over 1/2 million homes in our area without electric. I worked 7 hrs. OT on Sunday at the police dept. to help handle all the calls and stuff going on during the storm. We have no power so therefore no computers. I'm at work right now and just wanted to quickly let you know we'll be back when we can. Everything is good for me and all my family other than we don't have power. God has provided and none of us got hurt or had any serious damages to our homes. Many people did not fair as well. I need to get back to work, but just wanted to let you know. Hope everyone else is safe and well.

Talk to you soon.

Cathy

Great pictures. You seemed to have seen so much in a short amount of time. I can't wait to read more. I didn't get Buzz's face when I took hi picture.

I am so glad all of you are safe. I hope you get power soon. Stay stafe.

It's good to hear that all is well, even if it is somewhat inconvenient. We're near a hospital, so I guess we have super-duper power lines here. We are lucky that they rarely go out. We had some high winds Sunday, and Trent said it was pretty crazy in Louisville, too.

We'll look forward to hearing from you when all is back to normal, and I hope you don't have to do without power for very long! Times like this sure make us quickly appreciate all the days we do have power and everything is normal.

What a wonderful update!

My prayers are with your and your friends and all those that were in Ike's path. I hope you get your electricity restored soon, and others can begin the cleanup and repairs.
