TCKK Family August 2008 Trip Report Part 2

August 11, continued

After rest and swimming, we headed to Animal Kingdom around 6:30pm. We had supper at Pizzafari and then went and saw It’s Tough to be a Bug and then the Lion King Show. Here’s a picture of the girls waiting for Lion King to start.
IMG_1330.jpg

I love to hear these people sing.
IMG_1331.jpg

Look at the crazy pink Mohawk. What were they thinking!! :rotfl: If that happens to be anybody reading this report, please forgive me for laughing. :rolleyes1

After this the girls rode Primeval Whirl and Dinosaur and then we called it a night and headed back to POP. Of course we did some shopping on the way out. But sorry, no pictures.

Thanks for sharing all the pictures. I don't think I ever commented on the Whispering Canyon/Wilderness Lodge ones, but I did enjoy them. I hope to be able to stay at Wilderness Lodge for at least a couple of nights on one of our future trips. I think it would feel awesome to get up early and go sit in that big, beautiful lobby. I would love to get pictures with no people in them, too.

Festival of the Lion King is one of our favorites. Brooklynn loves it!

Thanks for starting my Thursday off in a nice way with your pictures! I hope all is well with all of your family. Things are so busy here. There's not much time for Dising. :sad2:

The pics of your DD's with the forks are funny. I could go for an endless shake and a chicken sandwich. Yum!
The Wilderness Lodge looks so huge in pics, I may have to wander over there for a look next time. It must have been hard not to take a dip in thier pool.
I will always enjoy the Lion King Show, I never get tired of it. A must do. :thumbsup2

I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. I hope you get to stay at the Wilderness Lodge. I'd like to sometime too. It really is a beautiful place. We love Festival of the Lion King too. I love all the colors and the music. Just a fun show.

All is very well with our family, we're just very busy. It should slow down a little now because Volleyball season is over for our youngest. They finished first in their league and 3rd in their tournament. I'm very proud of them. Of course basketball starts in November, so it won't be a long break. ;)

I think those are funny too. And I agree, I'd love to have an endless shake and burger or chicken sandwich from there right now. :) If you get the chance, you really should take a trip over there. It's a beautiful place and worth taking some time to see.

I'll try to get to another update in the next few days.

Alright, all caught up! Been so busy lately, haven't had much time to keep up with TRs.

All sounds great!

Can't wait to hear about when I ran into K+K. I heard from them that you guys thought you saw us. When was that?

Day 3 Part 3

We had quite the adventure here. I have never in my life seen World of Disney as crowded as it was that night. I usually love this store but there were so many people in there that I didn’t stay long. The girls were having fun so I went out and sat with DH. After we left there we started heading back to the bus stop as it was lightening quite a bit and we were afraid we were in for a big storm. Cathy

Was this on Friday, Aug 8? This was our arrival day and we had a big lightening storm as well. I wrote about it in my TR too. See below for the link.

Sorry I just started reading and I am a little behind.

Hi,

Your pictures of the Lion King show were great. I tried to take pictures but they didn't turn out. Thanks for posting them.

Glad to have you back. I understand the busy stuff, we have it here too. I hope all is well with you and yours.

I think it's coming up in my report soon. It was the day we did WS and I think I saw your husband in Japan.

Hi Nancy for Disney. Thanks for joining us. It's never too late. Yes, I believe that was Friday, Aug. 8th. I'll try to get over to your TR real soon.

Thanks Peggy. I took quite a few more but these were the best. That's a hard show to photograph, but I really do love the show. It has such beautiful colors in the costumes and great music!

Oh yeah. It's very insane. We're doing well, though.

Yay! That would make sense. We were in Epcot SO MUCH! 3 of our 6 days we were in Epcot for at least part of the day.

Guess What? DH wants me to plan us another trip to Disney!!! :goodvibes

He says he keeps thinking about what we can do next year and Disney is what keeps coming to his mind. :cool1: Of course I think part of that is because my DSis is leaving today for a week of Disney. :lmao: That always gets him in the mood if someone else is going. Me too :thumbsup2

So there may actually be another trip in the works!

I hope so!!!

You guys should go, like, 08/02-08/07 and stay at the Poly. :rotfl:

I want to do a DISmeet while we're down there for our honeymoon.

Hi, just popped in. Another trip in the making? I hope you get to go. I'll keep my fingers crossed and here is some pixie dust to help it along. pixiedust: If you book by the begining of Dec. Mickey could call the girls on Christmas Day. :santa: Just a thought.

If we get to go it would probably be around the same time we went this year. We'll just have to wait and see. But it would be fun to have another DISmeet.

Thanks for the pixie dust and good wishes. That would be cool about the phone call from Mickey but I don't think we'll be able to book that soon, but thanks for the info.

August 12,

I didn’t make too many notes from this point on during the trip. So I’m telling the story mostly from the pictures and my memory. We started this day out at EPCOT. Here’s a photo of Spaceship Earth. It seems no matter how many times I go here when I enter the park, I just have to take pictures of the ball.
IMG_1341.jpg

The first thing we did after taking the above picture was get FastPasses for Soarin’, then we rode “The Land”
IMG_1360.jpg

IMG_1342.jpg

IMG_1343.jpg

The above tomato plant was 16 months old and they have harvested 32,000 tomatoes off the one plant. I think that’s pretty awesome!
Next we rode Journey Into Imagination with Figment. I love Figment, but I love the original version of this ride better. Here are the girls in the ride car.
IMG_1344.jpg

Hey Figment, who’s on the phone?
IMG_1346.jpg

IMG_1347.jpg

Figment’s upside down house
IMG_1348.jpg

IMG_1349.jpg

Here’s DD holding Figment and wearing Figment. Quite the fashion statement, don’t you think?
IMG_1352.jpg

I love Innoventions
IMG_1355.jpg

We played around in here for awhile and did toured the House of the Future (go to MeMom’s post to see her pictures. Evidently I didn’t take any.) We ate at the Electric Umbrella – again no photos and then headed to Soarin”

continued

IMG_1358.jpg

IMG_1362.jpg

This was DH’s first time on Soarin’. He really liked it. I didn’t take any photos while we were on the ride. Now this is definitely a family favorite.
We decided to leave after Soarin’ and head back to POP. As you can see we were about the only ones waiting for a bus.
IMG_1378.jpg

Plus we practically had the bus to ourselves. So we goofed around some taking pictures.
IMG_1379.jpg

IMG_1380.jpg

IMG_1382.jpg

IMG_1383.jpg

IMG_1388.jpg

Obviously I was getting tired to let my picture be taken like this and I must be really tired tonight to be putting out here for everyone to see. But see, contrary to popular belief, moms and dads can be pretty crazy sometimes too.
IMG_1390.jpg

Memom, this picture is for you. We’re sitting at the table where you said you sat in the mornings at POP.
IMG_1393.jpg

We swam for awhile and then the girls and I headed to Hollywood Studios.
We rode the Tower of Terror
IMG_1395.jpg

IMG_1396.jpg

I saw a couple cute pirates.
IMG_1398.jpg

We did the Animation Academy again
IMG_1399.jpg

Then we went to watch Fantasmic. I love this show, however I didn’t get any good pictures at all. But we enjoyed anyway. Then we headed back to POP and to bed.

Your girls look like they had alot of fun making faces at the camera. Mom's can have fun too, but we must be carefull not to embarass our teens. :rotfl: My DS thinks I am so embarassing, even when I am just breathing. :lmao:

Great pictures! Yes, you are sitting at our table!!! How cool is that? Maybe someday we'll sit at that table at the same time and just talk and laugh about our crazy Dis friends and adventures.

Brooklynn has recently become a fan of Figment. She got a Figment plush toy on this trip.

Soarin' - I can't wait to do it again. I'm so glad it's a ride that Jill will be able to ride, because when we ride it together it is extra special because we both just love it!

I dare you to make that face when the bus is full.

I double dare you.

I double dog dare you!

Sometimes it's the delight of my life to embarass them. :lmao:

I hope you guys do get to ride Soarin' together. We all love that ride. I'm so glad DH rode it this time.

Sorry, it kills me not to take the double dog dare, but I'll have to pass. Although, how much worse could it be with a full bus, when I've put it here on the world wide web for everyone to see. :scared1: :rotfl:

August 13

Sorry I’ve been gone so long. It’s just been really busy around here. But I do want to finish our report. Besides Memom’s got a new one going and I have to keep up on hers too.

Again, this day, I didn’t take notes, so I’m going by the pictures and my memory (such as it is) to tell the story. This is the day we ate around the World. We tried little treats and snacks from all around the world. Things we had never tried, but had read about on all of you all’s reports. So here we go.

First we stopped here. I wanted some fish and chips. No one else wanted this, but they sat and waited and let me eat it. It was very good.
IMG_1419.jpg

IMG_1418.jpg

Then we headed on around the world. Youngest DD loves France, so that was next.
IMG_1421.jpg

IMG_1422.jpg

IMG_1423.jpg

I love this spot
IMG_1424.jpg

IMG_1425.jpg

IMG_1428.jpg

IMG_1429.jpg

IMG_1431.jpg

Next we went to Morocco and hubby got something to eat from here. I can’t remember what it was, but he really likes the food here.

IMG_1433.jpg

Aladdin and Jasmine’s story
IMG_1435.jpg

Youngest DD in Jasmine’s room looking out the window
IMG_1438.jpg

This guy was very nice and was telling oldest DD all about his country.
IMG_1439.jpg

Next was Japan and the Candy Lady. I love to watch her. She is amazing.
IMG_1442.jpg

IMG_1443.jpg

IMG_1444.jpg

IMG_1445.jpg

The gardens here are so pretty.
IMG_1446.jpg

Oldest DD had lunch here. She had the Teriyaki Chicken
IMG_1448.jpg

IMG_1450.jpg

IMG_1452.jpg

Then onto America
IMG_1454.jpg

In the past the girls have done the Kidcot stations, but oldest DD wasn’t much interested this trip, so youngest DD and I did it. I’ve never done it before, but she didn’t want to do it by herself, so I joined her. It really was a lot of fun. Just another chance to interact with the cast members.
IMG_1455.jpg

IMG_1457.jpg

Isn’t this window in Germany pretty?
IMG_1463.jpg

IMG_1464.jpg

Youngest DD ate here, plus I think we all shared a dessert.
IMG_1465.jpg

IMG_1470.jpg

IMG_1471.jpg

IMG_1472.jpg

Look who we saw!
IMG_1473.jpg

Next we went to China
IMG_1476.jpg

And we saw these guys!
IMG_1480.jpg

I didn’t mention earlier, but of course we shopped in all of these places. Here’s DD with some bears. Aren’t they cute?
IMG_1482.jpg

And here’s some cute little fat cats
IMG_1483.jpg

IMG_1486.jpg

Then we went to Norway and rode this. This is always a favorite of our family.
IMG_1488.jpg

Of course we had to stop here. We all shared these. Very good!!!
