I will be attending a nursing conference at the Gaylord Palms Resort during May 2006. I will be staying at Pop Century and will need transporation for 4 days from Pop Century to Gaylord Palms. I'm am thinking cab fare would be less than or equal to car rental for 4 days. I know there is a parking fee at the Gaylord, so I would have to figure that into the cost of car rental. Does it make sense to use a cab for 2 round trip each day?

Thanks

Shannon

I think you should look around for car rental rates. You could probably beat the price of a taxi. You also have to figure in tips for the taxi.

I'd definitley do the rental. But driving at DW can be confusing so be sure to drive your route to get familiar before you 'have to be there on time' or give yourself plenty of time... even after driving there several times we get confused and go round and round sometimes.
Also if you have an event at the Palms you may be able to get parking validated... for at least some of the cost.

Gaylord Palms sometimes had off site parking for conferences. Their lots can not accomodate everyone who is attending. They have been know to use some fields about 3/4 of a mile from the Hotel and run shuttles. Maybe a taxi would be worth avoiding the hassle and save time.

I've read POP, I think the unfinished half, is one of the sites Gaylord Palms uses when they need extra parking. You might wind up renting a car only to park in your own resort.
