I was in Target today to get a few things (ha ha) and saw a display for a gift card which included a little white Lego dog on a red building plate. After looking in several places I went to Customer Service and they pulled out all 13 of the ones they had in back. Not sure yet whether I will use these for DS' birthday party or give them out to his class but I will keep the $5 gift cards and give out the Lego sets within the next month...SUPER CUTE and I will use the $ for groceries while basically getting FREE gifts for the kids in the process. Yeah!

If I do want to give them to his class I need to find 6 more at another Target...hope that won't be too hard. ;)

Yes and I only had to put $5 on each card (which I will use as they are separate). Yay!

Cute idea about using the legos seperate from the GC.

They've gone fast at our store, so you may want to look for the rest you need soon. :)

Do you know that the GC is printed on the back of the little storage box?

Got the other six...and it says to "remove gently to use or check balance" so I guess I can peel 'em off after I use 'em. Yay! :thumbsup2

Now to make sure DS does not see them till the last day of school...he is a HUGE gossip!

The "remove gently" is for the silver coating that covers the GC #. The white GC portion isn't a sticker, it's printed right on the case. Maybe you could cover it with a sticker.

Thanks - I did notice that. I would not mind giving each of the kids $1 to get something in the Dollar section at Target so maybe I'll see if I can spend part of each card and leave a little for 'em.

Thank you for the tip OP. Hopefully some of the stores around where I live will have these as well. My husband is a lego NUT and loves to collect all kinds of lego things. This could make for a great little stocking stuffer.

Thank you I just went to my Target and bought two of these! Great stocking stuffers:cool1:

The 1st Target I checked today was sold out of them, so I had to make the drive to a second store. They still had quite a few left. They also have these online, but the minimum you can get on the gift card is $25.

I had to go online and see what they looked like! It's the Bullseye puppy Lego dog! How cute!! I'll have to go get a couple tomorrow, if I can find them. I see, at the site, that Target is making a donation of $1 to the Salvation Army for every $20 gift card purchased this week! Good find, girls! :thumbsup2

I got two today. They were hard to find; but after a while, I found three near the home section in Target. Thanks, OP. Also, if I were you, I'd just keep the boxes and all traces of the gift card. The Lego dog is still wrapped in a nice little plastic bag that you can give the kids; the instructions are in the bag with no mention of Target or the gift card.

I bought one for each of my girls when I saw them in the store last week... but that is a great idea to but $5.00 on each and hand them out as a little treat to a child. I am going back tomorrow to buy more.

Best idea yet! Thanks! I did use $12 today on them (3 @ $4) but I will "guinea pig" the one I put aside for DS...this should work great. Yay! ;)

We plan to get these for our two young nephews who are hard-core into Lego -- but most of what they want tends to run on the high side (since Lego is a toy brand not manufactured in China), so their moms told them if they received gift cards, to save them up and buy the Lego sets they want.

IMO, this is the perfect way to give the gift of Lego, this holiday season.

Unfortunately, many Target stores are already selling-out of these (no doubt to folks like OP who choose to "gift" the Lego Bullseye dog while keeping the $ for other purposes).

And no, that's not meant to be construed as a flame...just a fact.

I didn't take it as a flame...if I had the option to buy them online I would have, but I don't have 19 x $25 plus shipping to lay out! ;) I notice that someone else mentioned that Target will make donations for each $20 gift card.

Also I would have given DS a card with a bigger amount, but I'm already almost done shopping for him.

Thanks OP! I picked up a few of these this morning - they had the little dog built on the display and I was surprised to see how big he actually is. They had about 12 of them on the display and were located on the end cap of the card section. Great little gifts!

I picked up 5 and had $5 put on each in a separate transaction. I then used the gift cards to pay for my shopping in the next transaction. Worked perfectly, have 5 lego Target cards without $$ on them to give as gifts to family. I did not like the fact that someone would have to carry in the case to use the giftcard so now I will give the dog with a separate gift card that will be easier to carry for the parent.

Do you think they will put just $1 on the gift card? My son's birthday is in dec and these would be a great gift bag stuffer for his guests to add to the other things I alreay have.

They told me that $5 is the minimum so I put $5 on each and am spending $4 of each card on other transactions, which leaves each child $1 to pick out something in the dollar section.

:thumbsup2

Checked the local target by me last night. Nothing on the various gift card displays and frankly the cs rep was rude about it when i asked.

There are 2 more stores i can check and will get to one tonight.

thanks Op!

Lara
