The only reason a override would work, is someone making a scene in the store. Those people that think they are above the restrictions.

It did not work here in Orlando!!!!! Red card and Pharmacy rewards work though... So disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear the Red5% and pharmacy5% still work though. I was worried those would go away.

I was under the impression that those had daily limits attached to them as well...

They do...everyone seems to be different. I think it depends on your bank since it takes a few days to go through. I asked multiple people at target and they all had different answers. What seems to happen is that the longer you have it and more you use it, your limit increases.

Bummer! was gonna get $1000 for our spending money. Mainly wanted 20% off the couples villa. Oh well!! Not out anything, worth a shot!

Honestly I can understand it from a money perspective. Yes, they have other items that make money, but when you are talking 20% off of thousands of dollars of gift cards plus other items, that is a huge hit to the overall money the store will make.

I got to see it first hand on Thursday when our Disney store which is in Times Square was open until 9 when all mall-located stores closed by 5 or 6. The computer system for all the stores was (again, we had this happen last year and was not supposed to this year) set to go ahead and update with the early bird 20% off at 6pm so for three extra hours (closer to 4 by the time the last guest checked out) we were losing 20% of what we could have made which measured into a few thousand dollars we lost when all was said and done. So while it may seem "Oh, it's only 20%..." realize that for orders totaling in the thousands of dollars that 20% adds up quickly and affects all the metrics which ultimately affects ordering, staffing, and all kinds of other things.

I felt like crying when I found out it didn't work! Like you, i was planning on getting several thousand dollars worth. I bought just a few hundred instead and got 10% off using pharmacy and red card rewards. The other god news is that the pharmacy rewards seems to work with the red card and 20% off on regular items, so almost 30% off.

I posted this on the Budget Board thread about this shortly after I arrived at my Target after 8am. There was a father/son who were waiting when the store opened at 8am and they headed straight to the checkout and were getting cards. I told my friend, I betcha it's the Disney cards and sure enough it was. My friend was still grabbing our 80 between us we were going to buy (if it worked) and the father tried explaining it should work on the entertainment cards, manager said they aren't valid as they really are gift cards (we know this has been debated back and forth g) but no go. SO right then and there we said, oh well, now we don't even have to try!

So, I continued to shop and get things I needed which was my plan anyway. No way am I wasting a 20% off coupon in Target!

Today it certainly paid to be a regular every sunday target shopper! The manager did an override and we got it!!

Sorry, no. The company does not want it used on gift cards and, for this coupon, Disney cards are considered gift cards.
