Taking food into Fantasmic??

We are not going to do the fantasmic dining package in January. We really do want to see Fantasmic and there is a 6:30 show that evening. We are planning on lining up early to ensure seats and were actually thinking about getting a CS meal to eat when we are seated. So 2 questions:

1. How long before each show do the CM's open the theater for seating?

2. Anyone have any good suggestions on which CS place to obtain food to take in with us. I hate the idea of the kids trying to eat while standing in line and was thinking perhaps salads or cold sandwiches with some bottled soda or water which would keep in the bag until we are seated.

We have seen alot of people going to Rosie's which is close to the entrance of Fantasmic and bring things in.....there is also a place in the viewing area that sells beer and soda and other items.
But bottom line is yes you can bring anything there

There are salads available at Catalina Eddies and Fairfax Faire, though the one at Catalina Eddies does not have a lid. Bottled soft drinks are available at all of the ice cream carts, and, i believe, at Sweet Spells on Hollywood Blvd. Fruit is available at Anaheim Produce if you're looking for a healthy snack that you can stick in your bag. Off the top of my head I can't think of any place that has cold sandwiches. Cast members will start letting people in 90 minutes before the show and if you find you need something else, there are the stands in Fantasmic. They're standard stadium fare...popcorn, hot dogs, nachos, etc.

Across from Fantasmic entrance is a "food court" type area with little sheds that house the food vendors. One has pizza, one has burgers, one has turkey legs, turkey sandwiches and ice cream. The pizza one has an italian cold cut sandwich. They also have salads at one of the houses.

We always get our food and then take it to the Fantasmic show to eat while we wait. The seating area opens 90 minutes prior to showtime. YOu can get snack type items in the theater itself.
