Sh started reading over my shoulder, nd one day I made a comment about her she couldn't resist commenting on, and BOOM she has been a fixture here ever since. As far as the Dragons go, well, I kept talking about them so much they had to sign up to defend themselves!!!!!

Hi, just dropping by. I am in a good mood---Terps won and my Mom had better than expected results in her eye surgery (her retina was in the early stage of detaching). I am still figuring out my color preference---llebrekniT suggested NCBelle--I like all NC teams , but not as much as the Terps-I am a UMBC grad so any other color nominations?

Jessie the Wonder Dog pics are in the My Gallery section--I just have to get my computer to let me paste her in my signature. I tried to last night-but my old PC had a fit. I must get my in-house PC guru to fix it. My PC guru aka my hubby was good to me today---he resupply our house with peanut butter cups and ice cream.

Go to that shhhhhhimagestation place and pull up your picture
Right click on picture and click "properties"
Highlight the mumbo jumbo next to properties
Right click on the highlighted mumbo jumbo and hit "copy"
Now go to you new DIS post
Click on "IMG" above
Delete the mumbo jumbo that is there
Right click and hit paste
I think you then hit "Okay" or something like that.

RRBB, do I have this right? It's hard to explain it without actually doing it.

Hi Geffric! My kids are unruly too! Last night at dinner, that was the big topic of conversation. Whose boys are worse. My friend Maria's friend, Maria, won (Yes, it's a very Italian town. Most of my friends have some form of Mary in their names). She has twin boys. I think they are three. Their escapades include things like putting about a million coins into the car's defroster. But my personal favorite is when Maria reorganized her daughter's drawers and put everything in there neatly, she went to take a shower. When she walked out of the bathroom, up on their chandalier (cathedral ceilings mind you) were hanging all the entire contents of the drawers.

Oh, does anyone know what UTEP stands for? Eric and I have been trying to figure that out all afternoon.

The Challenge

· Find THREE Shakespearean allusions by the end of our unit on Romeo and Juliet. That will likely be by the end of March or so. But you never know…



The Criteria

· Each allusion should be a clear reference to Shakespeare or something from Shakespeare, but cannot be a version of one of the plays. For example, West Side Story is an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, thus counts as an allusion, but the Leonardo DiCaprio/Claire Danes version of R & J does not; it is merely the play itself cloaked in modernity.

· You cannot bring in the exact same allusion as anyone else in class. First come, first serve (so I recommend finding heaps of them in case you need a back-up). If you find more than the required three, consider donating your extras to a needy classmate. That’s allowed.

· In order to get credit, you must bring in whatever it is you find (e.g. a copy of the film “West Side Story”) PLUS evidence of its being an allusion. That means finding the line or character from the specific play…. Remember how I mentioned Robert Frost’s poem “Out, Out—“? Well, if you were using that one (which you can’t now because I gave it to you), you would ALSO have to bring in the speech from Macbeth where that line originates:

“Out, out, brief candle/Life’s but a walking shadow; a poor player/That struts and frets his hour upon the stage…”

· You will indeed find a plethora of allusions. Start bringing them in as soon as you find them, and be prepared to share with the class.



The Caution

· You MUST verify that what you find is really from Shakespeare. I am not very forgiving of pages simply run off from the internet; they’re often full of holes and/or errors. Treat this like bona fide research. Have fun with it.



The Catch

· Each allusion you bring in and properly cite is worth a mini-quiz grade. That’s three easy As for you. But if you don’t make it by the deadline…

Joe, you'll notice the TAGLIARCHY is a very colorful place. Those of us that are regulars around here have chosen a color for ourselves. This is the color that's used to address each other, or more than likely, spread rumors about each other.

You have your choice of any color that's on the color wheel's Available Colors list. Just choose your color, come back here and post your choice (color name and/or code), and before you know it you'll also be on the color wheel AND everyone will be talking to you in your color.
