Depplyinluv Can it be an allusion from any Shakespeare play or does it have to be Romeo and Juliet?

If any Shakespeare play......the movies "Ten Things I Hate About You" and "Kiss Me Kate" both allude to Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew

EL PASO!!!!! Thank you ohana and RRBB. We were saying University of Texas at ???. And University of Tennesee at ?????. LOL. Duh.

Depplyinluv, are you still here? Can you tell my fifth grader, Eric, how it is important to practice. Even if you think you are the best sax player in the school, you are going to get to junior high, and there will be better sax players than you and all this non-practicing is going to catch up with you?!?! Thank you! ;) I'm so frustrated, because he MAY have some talent. I say this because it comes so naturally to him. But I'm mad because he almost never practices. I guess I could force him, but I don't want to go there. Okay, I'm done ranting. If you want to give him a lecture, I'll show him the post. :teeth:

iluvtink, those puppies are the cutest. I showed them to the kids, and now they want a Bichon Havanese mix. Just what we need. More dogs. I've got Beanie on my lap as I type this. I'll post a pic of my guys. BTW, I love the names too.

and duh, "The Lion King" definitely alludes to Hamlet......had to mention that cause we are on the DIS board!

I guess these are pretty easy so I'll keep thinking of more :teeth:

I really have to get my digital camera fixed. All the pics I have are old, and there aren't many of Otto Von Snotto. Anyway, this is Otto trying to look tough. (He'd never hurt Beanie the Meanie. She's got him wrapped around her paw.)

Definitely don't forget Disney's LION KING alludes directly to Hamlet and you might even get to count LION KING 1 1/2 too!;)

I'll keep thinking of more......I just loved English classes.......:teeth:

Hi. Practicing gets really boring after a while, because--like--every day, I have to put together my saxaphone, and sometimes I have to loosen a lot of screws to get all the parts in. Also, it's hard to carry on the bus. Right now I'm pretty good in the band, but some songs in my lesson book I have trouble with. Most of the songs are corny. Do you play clarinet. My mother used to play clarinet. She has an old tape of her playing. :scared1:

From BB: (Nice kid, huh? ) Actually, I'm glad he told you why he doesn't practice. Maybe I should just buy him a sax stand. That way it could be just sitting there in the livingroom and ready.

BTW, when I was a kid, I didn't even ride the school bus. I had to walk to school -- one mile -- in the snow -- uphill -- both ways. :teeth:

Oh, forgot this picture. This is another old puppy picture. Beanie was in dire need of grooming, and she must have been digging in the yard.

What a cutie pie!

cadburysmom someone took it wayyy before me:(

i thought of harriet the spy and blue oyster cult(dont fear the reaper) but the first day someone took it i was so mad...

bichon barb and son: eric you dont have to practice every day, just like once or twice a week....it also depends on how often you have band practice w/ your teacher...at my highschool we have it every day instead of a study hall:rolleyes:
and yes i do play the clarinet and have been playing (poorly) for 5 years

barb its a great idea to get him a stand! its so awkward for me to practice in my house because like no one understands it...no one in my family does any fine arts ever...and never did...:(

Thanks Depplyinluv. :)

Growing up, my parents only listened to classical music. Not very cool going to the opera when you are in junior high. BUT, one of my older brothers (he is 16 years older than me) was big in the local rock music scene. Also, my sister's first husband was also a guitar player for a local band. (My sister is 10 years older.) So I went to my first club gig when I was 14. I played clarinet in school and sang in church choir with my dad and sister for a couple of years. My DH is a drummer.

My point is, I'd really like the kids to learn an instrument. But I know if you push too hard, they run the other way. :(

Okay, I'm going now. Hopefully something is good on the boobtube.

BARB i hope i didnt frighten eric away! take it from me playing an instrument and learing about all kinds of music is a great thing....cuz then in the car when you play the radio stations game, you can win!;) and it looks extremely good on your college apps.....drums are fun for kids to learn, maybe not for you because theyll want to practice them, but they are fun...:)

RRBB you rock:teeth: thank you so much for the site im sure they'll be some on here that no one else has got...::yes::

Can someone help post my dog's picture up? My computer crashed little while ago when I tried--the link is in one of my last posts. Thanks.

To or Not Be Tagged that is the question;) -Sorry, I could not resist that line with all the Shakespeare.

How about: What is a tag by any other name will it not stick as much? or .....to be continued...:teeth:
