I make my mom smoke on the back porch! And not in sight of my kids!! YUCK!!

I didn't mention that her hubby surprised us once by mowing our 1/2 acre before the in-laws came and I didn't want to make it an issue in front of her child. She stopped afte realizing we didn't really have ash trays--she dropped it into her soda can.

I agree, I wouldn't have made an issue with a friend, especially one who doesn't know any better. My mom, however....she knows! She actually tried to tell me she quit and lied about it for the longes time....but you could still smell it on her...fresh and yucky rather than stale and yucky. Not sure why she felt she had to lie to me, though....

Good evening all,
OK first I'll answer the QOTD: I don't smoke and have never even tried to. My grandad died of lung cancer when I was 6 and I still remember him in hospital before he died. That put me of smoking for life!!

So is today vent day on the tagliarchy? I have loads to vent about the guy I work with but it would take too long to write about and I have only just calmed down from his actions today!!

School today was better. The kids seemed to have listened to my manners talk yesterday and are trying harder. At school today we had a visit from a supermarket chain who were interviewing our kids for some promotional work (they were doing some work on some new healthy snacks). Anyway they left hundreds of punnets of strawberries for us which the staff and kids got to take home  I love fresh strawberries.

So does anyone have good plans for this evening? My DH is out at a friends house revising for an exam they next Friday. I'm making sure the house is ready for my parents visit tomorrow.

Oh well I guess I better get on then so I can watch the last episode of ER later (I'm a little annoyed as Friends is usually on on a Thursday on sky and then on a Friday on regular TV but as this week is the last ever episode they have decided just to show it on regular TV tomorrow and not on sky today! So I have to wait another day now and my parents will just have arrived tomorrow when it is on so I will have to wait longer to watch it !!)

Who here smokes?

Joe and I do. But we're nice about it.

Ooooo, something I've battled with for many years and rarely talk about. This is like AA for smokers!

I don't, but I sure did! Started a young age, quit when I got pregnant with Eric, started again when I stood up in a wedding in the late 90's where the whole dang wedding party smoked, became a closet smoker on and off for the next few years ('cause you might as well be a heroin addict if you're a mommy who smokes! ) But this time I WILL NOT start again. I've been smober since July of 2002. I even have Nicorettes at hand for when I go out with the girls so that I'm not tempted!

Oh, and I am in no way, shape or form a nonsmoking militant!!!!!

All Hail the Cable Modem Man!!!

Just curious. Was he cute? :hyper:

......ok, I honestly thought I was finished ranting for the day but this just about threw me over the edge

.......but I'll spare you by narrowing it down to five little words and I mean this from the bottom of my heart.....

You Should Both Be Spanked!

...and NOT in the kinky way either.....and don't lie to me, I know that's what you were thinking :p :teeth:

PS - nice pic...too bad you don't swing my way ;)

Had to say it again just to make sure I got my point across :snooty:

I was so busy ranting and raving earlier that I forgot it was National Pick On llebrekniT Week!:p

.... I think you are a great mom to help out with field day, especially with cute Ella running wild:crazy:......so many moms never help out and have no clue how much energy and patience is involved::yes::

.....I read earlier that Jordan had moved up a notch on Holly's "list" .........I 'm truly delighted about this but after seeing many, many pictures of you in WDW, just promise me you won't wear that same RED SHIRT to the wedding!:hyper: The "Big-bow-Easter-bunny-barfed-on-your-bag" purse is fine to bring....but the red shirt is OFF LIMITS ;)

I don't know when I last wanted to kiss and hug a man other than my sweet DH, but today ... Oh, to answer your question, no, he was a short, skinny scrawny dude who weighed less than me, I'm sure, but I was just so overjoyed.

I feel WHOLE again!!! :teeth:

Rick and Joe ... SHAME SHAME SHAME . Since I never ever tried to smoke anything, I can't understand how hard it is to quit. I can only equate it to trying to give up chocolate. But I watched my daddy succumb to lung cancer seven years ago, and it was just so sad. I know you've heard all the yadda yadda yadda about it, and it does have to be your decision. But since you both want the best for the other, maybe quitting together will be easier ... after all, who wants just one person to taste like licking an ashtray?<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_2_10.gif' alt='Vomit Into The Toilet' border=0></a>

I tried to delete the first one, but it won't let me. So I just erased the message.

I missed you too. backatcha. I've read every single post since Friday night via dial-up. <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_8_115.gif' alt='Tired' border=0></a> That's true TAGLIKINS dedication if you ask me.

The only tag I can think of at the moment was something someone said recently. I think Lewski's first tag should be "but tell us how you REALLY feel!"

oh, and cadburysmom - I thought REx was afraid of HuggaBaloo, Rick, and Joe's people. If REx shows up in WDW, maybe you could get HuggaBaloo to arrange for a couple of his good friends to hit on him! It would serve him right. And I'll be more than happy to send the guy an e-mail... it would say...

<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_4_126.gif' alt='Hatchet' border=0></a> I'm waiting for you at WDW!!!

Ok, so I just got off the phone with llebrekniT & we have made a decision about where we are going to stay in October. All of this is assuming there are AP rates that are consistent with the AP rates that people got during "regular season" this summer. Here goes:

We are going to stay the first 3 nights in The Wilderness Cabins (if mom & dad come with us). If mom & dad decide not to come, we will probably stay at Pop Century.

The last 4 nights we are going to stay at the Contemporary (I know you had a bad experience Cheeringmom, but we'll see if your comments made a difference), probably in a Garden Wing. Whattya think? I am so excited that we made a decision. I just hope we can get AP rates, or we will have to start all over again.

iluvtink, Welcome back!!!! So glad the cable dude was able to fix your problem. Did he have to replace the modem?

Thank you very much!!! Good to be here, fer sure. Yep, he had to replace the modem ... which is what I told them all over the weekend. But they have been hired to make people totally insane with rage before they make the repair that was asked for in the first place.

REx = Rotten Ex ;)
