I have friends that don't do any of the fun, make-believe stuff either. I don't get it. I never felt betrayed by my parents. I'm just so glad they gave me all that stuff all those years. I think I was in 5th grade the first time they "assumed" I already knew there was no Santa and didn't leave me anything from him that year. I was extremely sad and disappointed that morning.

Daniel sounds like a smart kid to me...he's no fool!

And sorry to hear your parents put an end to "Santa" that way I've already decided to keep it up just like my parents do......more fun for me

I just wanted to let you guys know that I spoke with Oddball a little while ago on the phone. She said yesterday went OK! She said they received a good many yells yesterday from the coach. They just couldn't get their act together on the court.
She did end up rooming with Heather(the coach doesn't know they swapped rooms). I asked her if they would get into trouble and she just had that tone of voice like "Mother????!!!!" and I could tell she was probably rolling those eyes in her head. She is famous for that!
They have 4 games to play today against some really tough teams so please send a little, no A LOT, of pixie dust their way! Please!!!!!!!!
She is going to try to call me back later today! If she does I will let you guys know how its going!



P.S. Did I say anything that would embarrass her?

Yep, one more day! Fingers crossed...

As for t-shirts, if they have 'em, you'll get 'em! LOL! But remember, this is a big shiny corporation that I'm trying for, not a non-profit. It'd be as the associate director of community affairs.

QOTD - My avatar is for my OBSESSION(it's progressed past love, really) for the Red Sox....I'm a New Englander, so whadda expect?! And as for my siggy picture, as someone of you know, I got nicknamed Carebear over on the POTC ship, and since several of our [color=0066FF]T[/color][color=CC0066]A[/color][color=00CC66]G[/color][color=00BFFF]L[/color][color=FF1493]I[/color][color=FF6600]K[/color][color=FFCC00]I[/color][color=9900FF]N[/color][color=00FF00]S[/color] also hang out over aboard ship, when I came over here, they started calling me Carebear and one of you a long time ago asked me which Carebear I was and so last night, I was bored and looked up the Carebears, and decided I was most like "Funshine Bear" and plus she's a cutie!!(how do you know if it's a boy or girl? I'll be calling it 'she' cause it IS supposed to be me!!)


Hmm I was maybe 8 when I found out the Easter Bunny didn't exist because I went into my mom's bedroom and saw all the stuff I would later get in my Easter basket....they tried that whole "He dropped it off early" story, but I saw through that !! The tooth fairy...well, I lost my last tooth when I was 9 and it wasn't until that last tooth when I figured it out!! And Santa...that was probably 8 or 9...I'm SO nosey though, I was snooping in my sister's room looking for my present and I found some my mom had stashed in her closet "From Santa" so I figured that out too. My presents are still from "Santa" and "The Easter Bunny" and I don't mind...it's still fun to pretend he's real! Especially since every Christmas I'm usually with my little cousins(I have a 3 year old, 4 year old, 2 year old, 1 week old, and 1 1/2 year old cousins) so of course you have to keep it real for them!! They're so cute at that age, totally believing and totally awed by Santa coming down the chimney with his reindeer, and eating the cookies we left...I love little kids!

Isn't she a sweet and generous soul? My Fairy Godmother in my siggie line is because my true aspiration is to retire in Orlando and be hired as the FG face at Cindy's Castle who greets everyone before they go upstairs. It has to happen!!!

RE: Santa, Bunny, TF, etc... How could anyone who believes in Disney Magic do otherwise??? However, my DSIL, who is doing the big trip with us on July 29, is waaay too practical for me. She didn't even do <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/8/8_2_92.gif' alt='Christmas Fireplace' border=0></a>! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_11_4.gif' alt='Shock 5' border=0></a> When they visited our house one year for Christmas, she wouldn't let me have one for her daughter, because she said "oh, we don't do those... there's no use for it." End of discussion. We ended up leaving the kids stockings at my mom's on Christmas eve, and then drove there early Christmas morning to have Christmas with my mom while DSIL, etc. were still asleep, so that DN wouldn't have to see my kids get stockings. Pretty rotten, I think.

Another QOTD: What magical traditions do you have for holidays?

For the whole month of December, my girls used to write letters to Santa and leave them in the fireplace (unlighted of course). Overnight, they'd "fly up the chimney" and glitter would be all that was left in the morning. Sometimes Santa would forget to pick up the letters, and we'd have to explain that he was soooooooo busy in December that sometimes it took a couple of days for him to collect them from all over the world!

It's a little late in the year for football isn't it?

Eerm, by football I mean soccer we just call it football. The England football team is the pride of the nation. When the national team play the country vertually stops. I think everyone at work watched the match yesterday. Right now there are England flags frlying everywhere. The league season is over and competitions are held over the summer. We are playing in the finals of the Euro 2004 competition. 16 teams made the finals and are playing in Portugal over the next few weeks to find the European champions.

OK, to clear things up: American - English translation!
Football - American football
Soccer - Football
Basketball - Basketball!!

We don't really use the word soccer!!
