I found it on Amazon. The House of the Scorpion. Oh great, it's about opium and cloning. Well, let's see if he get through it. If he doesn't, maybe I'LL have to steal it. :hyper:

Geffric, so you are familiar with Professor Poopy Pants? :teeth: One of Eric's friends bought him the series when they were in first grade. It came with a whoopee cushion. Our whole fam damily had a ball with that thing. ::yes::

OK I'm back from IKEA, I bought a couple of things for the island whilst I was there. I got an ice crushing device to go with the cocktail shakers for our evening drinks around the hot tub and a champagne bucket to keep our drinks nice and cool.

As DH and I won't be going away this summer (we are having some work done on the house - putting another room on the back of the house and decorating the study and spare room) we decided to go away for the night for our birthday. I love rides and have always wanted to stay at the Alton Towers hotel. Alton Towers is a huge theme park with the best rides ever. Anyway there are 2 hotels there, a regular one and a water park hotel. Your room includes 2 days in the park, early entry one day (Like at disney where only hotel guests can go in early), priority passes for 4 main rides (you walk up the exit rather than que with even the fast pass lane!) and entry to the water park which only hotel guests can stay at. It is quite expensive, about £300 for the 2 of us for one nights stay, but 2 days park passes for the 2 of us would be £80 so I guess it isn't too bad in the scheme of things. Anyway I am so excited, it gives me something to look forward to. Our next holiday after that won't be until christmas 2005 which we hopefully will be spending at WDW but even that is not certain.

Oh well, I'm going back to the Alton Towers website to check out the new roller coaster they have had built for this season (they usually have a new ride each year and every 2 or 3 years a new big rollercoaster.)
:wave2:

Hey everyone. Just dropping in to say hello real quick.

Are we all game for a Hawaiian Luau tonight?

Sounds fun but I've got lots to do tonight so I'll only have time to pop in for a minute or two........besides, my hula isn't what it used to be!:teeth:

ohanafamily I hope everything went well at your doctors appt.....personally, I hate going to the doctor...........I'm sending lots of PD your way! :)

I'll stop by for a Hawaiian Luau later, are grass skirts provided or do we need to bring our own?

ohanafamily I hope your doctors appointment went well. PD on its way to you.

Well, I better go and practice my 'How do you solve a problem like Maria' song for my audition next Sunday. It is really hard to sing! How people who can't read music are going to practice it I don't know!!

OK, I better go and find the hula hoops and limbo bar for later.:wave2: :wave2:

Good afternoon, TAGLIKINS,

Katie stayed home sick again today... antibiotics don't seem to be helping her cough, from what we can hear. I guess maybe it's not as frequent, just sounds horrible. So my day has consisted of keeping her happy (after we both slept until 10:00 am :teeth:, doing laundry, dishes, and studying my College of Disney Knowledge stuff. I'm ready to submit my tests online and get my CDK mickey ears pin and certificate, but the on-line testing thing is not working ... hasn't been for over a week. It's making me nuts. I could fax or mail in my results, but I want immediate gratification and the on-line testing gives you your scores as soon as you submit the tests.

First of all, geffric, I can't tell you how good that sundae was last night. Thanks so much!!! I used to go eat one of those after exams were over when I was in college. Yummy!

hyzdufan - :goodvibes: on your 1,000 post!

Cheeringmom - yea! for Pele and for ... Julie Andrews??? I think maybe Sam should look into being a "Special Friend" (character) at WDW when she's in college. How old iis she now? My DS's girlfriend did that one summer and she had a blast and learned a lot, even though she wasn't a "face." Oh, and believe me, you don't know what old feels like until your child turns 21!!! :(

llebrekniT - at least he wants to read the book. Katie absolutely HATES to read and I can't figure out any way to make her feel differently. She loves for us to read to her, but ... Any reading specialists on the Island??? Can kids be dyslexic when they read but not when they write? It's weird when Katie writes, too. She was writing a report and wrote down "taritori" and then when I asked her to read and correct her work, she sighed and changed it to "territory." She is always spelling phonetically when she writes, even if she knows the correct way to spell the word!

Oh, and the pix of the kids are just wonderful. I'm gonna have to go find my Disney pix from when mine were younger and add them to the "Cutest Kids in the Kingdom" portfolio... keep posting, y'all!

Just popping in to say hi!
<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_29_100.gif' border=0></a>

Daniel has a baseball game in a little bit.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/18/18_7_13.gif' border=0></a> It's very cold here. <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/28/28_3_8.gif' border=0></a> It's 50 now but will be 35 later. We will tail-gate, sit in the back of the van and watch the game while we snack. It's fun. And much easier with Ella.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_17_206.gif' border=0></a> She loves climbing around, loose as a <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16_5_23.gif' border=0></a> in the van. The back seats fold down into the floor so we have a big area to play in and stay out of the cold.

Anyway, hot dogs<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_4_14.gif' border=0></a> for dinner with homemade Cincinnati chili to go on them if you like! Dig in, help yourselves!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/168v.gif' border=0></a>

See you guys in the morning!

Rick, do you remember a very old movie about some spider invasion from outer space? All I can remember is that all these little eggs landed on earth somehow and they hatched into little spiders which grew into huge ones. I can't open my underwear drawer without remembering the scene where a girl opened a drawer and a spider bigger than her head jumped up into her face. It made me want to :faint:

If the luau is happening after about 10 EST, I'll be there. Who's the bartender? I'll turn in my elephant ear leaf coverings for a hula skirt. Well, maybe I'll keep wearing a couple of the elephant ears!

Danauk, I'd like to go to an IKEA. There's one near my MIL in California... I'll add it to our plans. Your birthday trip sounds like a lot of fun. We never do anything for my birthday because it is too close to Christmas and everyone always has plans with holiday stuff.

Haven't seen Lewskiwhoisusuallyhereforlunch around. Yooo hooo, will you be here swishing your skirt tonight???

st.ohanafamily, hope your dr. appt. was uneventful. Hope you don't need any PD, but if you do, I'm sending some just in case.

Katie just came down crying that her ear hurts ... can you get an ear infection when you've been on amoxycillin for 3 days?

My computer is being a pain! For some reason my speakers aren't working today. DH will have to correct the problem when he gets home! ::yes::

Sending PD to ohanafamily and RRBB!

iluvtinkwhowaitsforLewski! </font>

iluvtink So sorry to hear Katie is not feeling well and hope she feels better soon. Strange that she's been sick while on the medicine. I'm sending buckets of PD your way in hopes it will help! :)

llebrekniT Tell Daniel "good luck" at the game today and you have fun tail-gaiting. You're lucky to be able to do that. I wish we could watch soccer games from our cars too.....it rained during Jordan's soccer game last Saturday but another mom and I sat in our chairs under umbrella's and "toughed" it out while the other moms stayed home. We were soaking wet and freezing and should have been completely miserable but the other mom is so funny......we were talking and laughing so hard that it ended up being a blast.:teeth:

HELLO! Tigger Fans! Sorry about your 'puter. I hate the dang things... can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em. Mine needs to go to the computer doc, but I can't do without my TAGLIKINS for that long! :(

cadburysmom- thanks for the Katie PD. I put her in the shower so that the steam could loosen up her sinuses. I can relate to your soggy soccer story. I really miss those days!! Katie used to play every season, but when we moved up here, she wouldn't join a team because she didn't know anyone. She's talking about maybe playing this fall. I hope she's not too far behind in skills now.

Yoo hoo, TAG FAIRY, why don't you stop by the luau for a mai-tai tonight? hyzdufan has 1,000 posts and we're celebrating!!!

iluvtink sorry to hear Katie is not well, PD to her to get better soon.
IKEA is my favourite store, but the nearest is just over an hour away so we only go a few times a year to look round or if we know we need something. My house is like an IKEA show room! I have something from the store in every room of my house, including the garage and garden shed!!!!

Oh well, I'm off to mix some drinks for later, any requests????

Danauk--I wouldn't mind a pina colada :D.

iluvtink --I hope Katie feels better. Sending you all some pd.
:wizard:

Did anyone notice the latest TAG FAIRY sightings--the TF has been playing some jokes on a couple mods. today.:D

Oh you silly and naive little non-horror people. (huge sigh)

iluvtink, you just described Giant Spider Invasion. One of the greatest of the worst movies ever made in the 70's. It had volkwagons dressed up to look like giant spiders roaming the hills. Yet another favorite of mine!

C'mon folks! Ask me any horror movie question! I dare ya! Prove that I'm a big dork!

I just got this e-mail, and it's long, but I had to post it...

The liquid inside young coconuts can be used as a substitute for blood plasma.

No piece of paper can be folded in half more than seven (7) times.

Donkeys kill more people annually than plane crashes.

You burn more calories sleeping than you do watching television. (wonder how that compares to computer time???)

Oak trees do not produce acorns until they are fifty (50) years of age or older.

The first product to have a bar code was Wrigley's gum.

The king of hearts is the only king without a mustache.

American Airlines saved $40,000 in 1987 by eliminating one (1) olive from each salad served in first-class.

Venus is the only planet that rotates clockwise.

Apples , not caffeine, are more efficient at waking you up in the morning.

Most dust particles in your house are made from dead skin .

Walt Disney was afraid of mice.

Pearls melt in vinegar.

It is possible to lead a cow upstairs...but not downstairs.

A duck's quack doesn't echo, and no one knows why.

Dentists have recommended that a toothbrush be kept at least six (6) feet away from a toilet to avoid airborne particles resulting from the flush.

And the best for last.....

Turtles can breathe through their butts .

Now you know everything there is to know.

Ok, big guy, here's one for you.....in the early 80's, there was a slasher flick that included a scene where a women enters a laundromat and hears a thudding sound coming from inside one of the dryers.....

Just to make it hard for you, this is a two-part question:

1. What was making the thudding sound in the dryer?

2. What was the name of this slasher flick?

Good luck Rick .....your reputation is on the line here ;)

I knew you wouldn't fail me, bud! Just thinking about that movie gives me the quivering willies! That's probably the only one I ever saw, besides some slasher movie I saw in college where the psycho grabbed some HS kids from a car, tied them to trees and then fastened a knife on the end of the kid's trombone and stabbed him to death while playing some song... I thought I would die... but it was a date with a really hot guy, so I managed to sit through it. Never again... not no way... not no how!

Thanks for the PD everyone. I do believe it helps.

NC Belle, I've never seen the TAG FAIRIES in action. What kind of jokes are they playing, where and how???

1. The thudding was the body of the laundromat owner.

2. My Bloody Valentine

Bring 'em on baby!
