Hey, when can I have My celebrity bartender...Someone suggested Jennifer Garner?
:earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

:bounce:

ohana---You can pick a bartender tonight---How about a pool party for the new Tags and for ibouncetoo's 1000+ postings?

NC Beast can pick one too if he wants too.::yes::

:sunny: Good Morning! :sunny:

Today I have brunch prepared for you-in honor of my parents' 34th anniversary. Menu includes a variety of meats, fruits, Mickey waffles, Tonga Toast, and omelet stations.

Enjoy!

Good morning all, sorry I missed the pool party last night but I was  I have left full English breakfasts on the table for everyone along with some orange and mango juice.

We seem to be getting quite a few new members this week, :cool1: :happy2: Welcome to you all :flower3:

So what are peoples plans for today? This afternoon I am going down to the theatre to the pre auditions for The sound of music. We just look at the script and a few songs and are told told what to prepare for auditions next Sunday. I just want a small chorus part as I had a main part i the last show and I missed all the dancing the chorus do so I want to do that again as it is so much fun. Hopefully I will get a small speaking part as well (I want to be one of the nuns who sings How do you solve a problem like Maria?)
Then after that we have friends coming over for dinner. DH is cooking a Sunday roast (roast beef, yorkshire pudding, mashed sweed and potatoes, and roast PARSNIPS!!) Followed by a pavalova desert :teeth:
Oh well, I still have some laundry to do left over from yesterday so I better get on.
TTFN

Wow, someone up before me for a change!! What time is it where you are NC Belle? Here it is just gone 10am.

Oh well it looks like I will be going to the theatre a lot earlier this afternoon. I just got a text on my mobile phone saying there is a committee meeting in 45 minutes!! Do these people not know how to give notice?? I mean I'm supposed to be the secretary of the society but some people don't even bother to let me know half the things that are going on! I guess thats what happens when you decide to take a break and not do a show! Oh well I think I will stay and watch the rehearsal too, see how things are going. I wouldn't mind hearing the songs anyway as I am playing in the orchestra for the show.
So I guess I will grab a bite to eat and then go to the theatre. Have a great afternoon everyone.
I'll be back later :wave2:

Good Morning all.

Good luck Danauk, and thanks for the breakfast.

NC Belle, thank you as well and good luck with the family event...

CourtasanSatine, backatya!

I think I will have some leftover Roast beef (I wound up at Arby's last night for takes out... DW wanted to stay in.) for breakfast, then take some snuggling time with RRBB when she wakes up. The kids want to watch Cartoons, so I guess I will find something appropriate for them (maybe Dragon Tales is on?)

I'll check in later Dudes and Dudettes..

:bounce:

Hey all!

It's raining, raining, raining here. Looks like it will stay that way for most of the day.

DH has gone to check the ballfields, they had rain make-up games scheduled for this afternoon. Don't look to good for that.

I think I will pop in a movie for the kids. Something from the Disney library I suppose. Suggestions?

Lewski, how do you do it? Are you a betting shark? Play like you don't know anything, but you really do? Oh and if you do Mears, don't do round trip. It's not so bad on the way there, but on the way back they make you leave like 6 hours before your flight or something and they stop at lots and lots of hotels on the way. We used to get a town car, now we always get a rental. I don't have any other advice to offer you, good luck!:teeth:

Holly and Ella's horse ran 3rd so we got almost all our money back that we bet. It wasn't a very good race really. We didn't stay long at the party. Got there late and left as soon as it was over. The traffic leaving Keeneland is insane and neither DH or I have the patience for it.

I'm outta here, check with you guys later!

NC Belle and Danauk, thanks for breakfast. I'm bleary-eyed because I had to get up at 6:50 a.m. to call for CRT PS's. Problem was, from 5:00 a.m. on, I kept waking up to see if it was time to wake up, even though I had set the alarm!!! Well, we had 5 families each trying to get PS, and they were each supposed to try for their own family separately, and my SIL and I decided that we would each try for 12, just to see if we could get larger numbers to eat together. Well, the other families asked for larger numbers, and instead of 20 PS's for CRT, we have 57!!!! We'll release 37 of them later today .... anyone need some for July 31st? That's Rikku's last day at WDW, but I've not ever seen him in the Mansion or on the Island. I'll PM him and see if he's interested.

It is cold and rainy and yllky here. I got the front yard mowed yesterday, but the back will have to wait.

Danauk - have fun at your pre-auditions. My DD Kelley's high school just put on the Sound of Music a month ago and it was very good. She has just begun to take drama classes and missed the auditions, so she was just an usher. I hope she'll audition next year... she certainly is a Drama Queen here at home!!!

ibouncetoo - Congratulations on your 1,000 post!!!:hyper: :goodvibes :cool1: Since you can only stay in Anaheim for 2 nights, I guess the 3rd night free at selected resorts won't help. The free Anaheim Resort Transit passes are for guests staying at the Clarion Hotel .... and the preferred seating for Snow White is with a"2-night Disney's Good Neighbor Magic Package" starting at $199 which includes 2 nights accommodations, DL Park Hopper ticket, Preferred Seating at 4 shows in DCA, a 5x7 Disney Souvenir photo, a WD Travel Company collectible pin and lanyard, a Cal. Fun Book and DL resort Magical Pocket Guide, AND the Snow White seating. For prices starting at $299, you get the same "prizes" but you stay at a DL resort. If any of this has any interest for you, let me know and I'll check it out further. Depending on what your hotel and your transportation and park hopper passes cost, this might be an okay deal, especially if your boss will pick up the one night cost part of the package.

We have lots of teachers about, I think I am the resident Techie...Although I hear NC Beast is a sharp cookie, and hyzdufan appears to know more about Flash than I do (I tried, but need to take a course)....OK, Rants are welcome, but if your name is Nancy or Don then you might need a thick hide.....

I might be a teacher, but I've got a degree in Computer Science, too. :) I did an independent study in Flash when I was finishing up college a few years back. My skills are quite elementary. I can recommend a few good books though if you are interested.

My forte is web design, mostly. I have a website for my students at http://www.mrbromley.com Check it out and let me know what you think!

Congratulations! I'm getting pretty close too, as you can see. :D

That sounds a lot better than what I had. These low carb pancakes just aren't that good. Kinda life styrofoam. I was trying to figure out what they're missing from regular pancakes, and I think I was able to deduce the missing ingredient. CARBS!

So, offerings for the tag fairies are accepted, and not regarded as begging, huh? Let's see what I have in the old goody bag this morning....

Some Cadbury Egg's...certainly my achille's heal

Let's see, what's on my agenda today. Well, I woke up extra early, due to rumblings in the kitchen. DF dropped a bowl and cracked it all over the place, disturbing my slumber. I helped her clean it up, and then stayed up. 6:30am is too early for me on a weekend, I maintain!

I have a lot of stuff to do today, but waiting till the last minute to procrastinate is my specialty. I have a couple of things to finish up on my graduate classes, which are all ending up next week, thank goodness! I also have some things to get sorted out for the kids this week. We're going to start reviewing for the big end of course exam at the end of the school year.

So I guess I'll print some transparencies, write up some worksheets, and watch TV off and on.

What's everyone else up to today? We were going to go out to a movie tonight, but we're strapped on cash because we're saving up for Disney in a month.

Lewski709, do you already have your flight booked for the Oct trip? When we do, if the timing is close enough we could meet at the airport and give you a ride. We'll probably be looking at airfairs soon....there is some discussion going on about doing the red-eye Friday night, which gets to Orlando like 8AM.....not my favorite option, but does give more play time in the parks.....or soaking time in the pool/hot tub, it would just be kind of hard to stay up to party Sat night ::yes::
That round trip price for Mears doesn't look too bad, but $25 can buy a few glasses of wine!
I don't. Only because the flights on SW Air aren't out yet for October. They are only out now for a portion of Sept. So, I'll have to check back. However, I would be taking the earliest flight and it appears it would arrive, at best, in MCO at 10:15am (by looking at the current Sunday travel schedules). I would leave there at ...... are you ready......6:50am.....meaning I would either have to be in ChiCAWGO the night before or leave my house at 4:00am. :earseek:

I get pretty lucky on stuff, but like I said....never when money is involved.

OMG..........6hrs? I was really considering using Mears.

Good Morning everyone!

My horse ended up 12th in the Derby. Stupid horse.

Lewski709, nice job picking the winner. I guess I'll add a Derby prize to your Bracket Challenge prize. I'll mail it out this week.

I did pick the winner in 3 other races! Got back about 1/2 of what we had bet for the day. We aren't big betters. Don't usually win a lot of $$$, but can't lose too much either.

hyzdufan, cool website. You mentioned graduate classes. Are you finishing up for the semester, or for good? You must be really busy teaching, webdesigning & going to class. I am impressed. Is your DF a teacher, too? When's the big day? Could I ask any more questions?

The Red Sox lost both games of their double-header last night which is a bummer. They need to win tonight. The game is on at 8pm on ESPN. I expect you ALL to do your TAGLIKIN duty & cheer on the Red Sox.

ibouncetoo, congratulations on 1,000 posts! I wish they would come out with October AP rates, but I'm afraid it ain't gonna happen for a while.

Have a great day everyone!

Plans for the day:
Shower and shave (which I was on the way to do, but the computer called my name), bowling tournament.....I qualified for it by being Bowler of the Week at the joint I bowl at.....DH is taking the kids to his dads (they have:cat: 's which I am allergic too, so I don't go there) and to his sister's (who performs psychic things <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_1_109.gif' border=0></a> and has <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16/16_1_8.gif' border=0></a>, so I don't go over there either). Then I will go to the Nursery to pick up some hanging plants for the patio. They should be home and I will fix dinner and we will all wind down.

His family could not be bothered to come to our house we have to always go totaling around for them to see the kids (who really cares about DH and I). It's the kids everyone complains about not seeing......maybe we should all just head over to his mothers tonight and make it a traveling day. Ahhhhhhhh, I don't think so.

My parents wanted to come over (OMG, someone who will travel to see the grandkids from over an hr away at that) and I had to tell them no one would be here as they were running around making visits today. Oh vey!

That's my day!

We usually Cab it. We don't usually need the grocery stop, and the cab fare works the same as 2.5 people. IOW, we have been on more than one really long Mears trip. Of course to the Disney Cruise we always use Disney (supplied by Meirs)....

hyzdufan, I would love a good book on flash; I went through the tutorials, but just haven't had the time....Oh, My degree is in CS as well (I have a language degree in computer science?) From The University (University of Texas at Austin for those of you who don't know the reality of the place) To give you an idea of when, Let's just say I took assembly language on Punch Cards.....The graphics course I took was one of the most fun and interesting courses. It was so popular that only graduating seniors could get in, the teacher got up in front of the class on the first day and acknowledged this fact. He said that if we turned in all of the assignments on time we would pass, but if we wanted an A, we would have to work for it. He also told us that since we were about to go into the "Real World" he would treat the assignments as projects at a job; no spoon fed algorithms, but a one piece of paper telling us what he wanted. If we asked a question, we had to do it the way he further told us, and if we asked another he changed it more.....
I made the mistake of asking him if we could use the "Tools Available" that were outlined in the book, He said NO. I wound up redesigning the entire graphics interface using the "Plot". The projects built on one another, and I wound up with a 3-d graphics package written in C (and slow), but to this day I have little problem with 3-d spacial coordinates.....
