Well, Since you asked... Naw, you don't talk funny...

Oh, disneyluvers (was it you that had the Virus on your computer?, I would update the DAT File, and scan the hard disk for a virus. If you are using Win ME or Win XP, then you might want to turn off the Autorecovery (Virusses hide in it!)

Just a quick jump in - jump out... the truth of the matter is, if you don't say "y'all" as naturally as you sneeze or blink, then you talk funny. I suspect there's a lot of folks around here that resemble that remark!

OHANA! It was me with the virus problems... How do I update my DAT file? I can figure out the scanning thing ... but just the hard drive and not all 150,000 program files, etc??? And last but not least, is the Autorecovery in the control panel? Did I tell you my Internet Explorer got weird... when I went to see it in the add or remove programs menu, it was listed as something like Q323555454 and it didn't show any files, or any date last accessed or anything. Just Internet Explorer Q*******. So I removed that, because it said it would restore it to it's previous version. There must not have been a previous version of it, 'cause now there's no IE at all on that list. And the IE website says that you can't download the IE6.1**** or whatever, in XP. You have to do something like edit the register (or registry?) first. That's so far over my head. But I bet I could do the Dat file thing and the autorecovery thing. Any more directions you can provide will be deeply appreciated.

I sure hope people will be around tomorrow night, because DH will be out of town and after the girls are in bed I can Paaaarrrtttyyy!!! (Oh, I can't do Smiley Central anymore since it only works on Internet Explorer and not Netscape Navigator.)

Dinner was Deeeelish!

ohanafamily did a great job on the grill. And the watermelon was quite tasty, too (which he picked out at the grocery store.)

Sorry to hear about all your puter probs iluvtink. Whenever I get problems like that I get so frustrated that I get this close to throwing the whole thing out the window.

I probably already would have if I didn't have your DH's wisdom keeping me together!!! :)

[Techie Talk]
iluvtink, I need to know some information... What version of Windows are you running. This way I can give you more detailed steps. Also, what antivirus software are you using. A lot of computers come with a "Try Me version of Mcafee or NAV. These you have to pay to update.

Here is my best guess as to what you might want to do

if you have a full version of a Mcafee Virus product, download this huge (5.4 MB) file (the top one for intel in english.
http://www.networkassociates.com/us/downloads/updates/superdat_download.asp
(Sdat####.exe)
Save the file to disk. If you do not have a full version of a Macafee Antivirus program, it will tell you when you execute the program.

If it tells you that you don't have a product that can be upgraded, PM me and I will give you a few steps you can take to use this file to scan your computer anyway... It is not simple, but this has the emergency scanning utilities in it.
------
You can not truly uninstall Internet Explorer. It is part of windows.
Here is the address for where to download IE 6.1...
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/ie6sp1/download.asp

I hope this helps...

Ohana, I have a T1840 emachine ... Windows XP, and I have McAfee ActiveShield, which automatically deleted two virus files yesterday. I've been to that IE link you gave me many times today, but nothing will download. I guess my virus has had a self-defense course in Tai Kwon McAfee...:headache:

ohanafamily is mumbling something about try the Mcafee thingy first, but he is half asleep. he has had a long last few days. I think he may be of more use tomorrow.

I will try to relay messages as long as I can keep him awake.

Y'all are the best.... Tell him I said "nonny noo --- sweet dreams". No more techie talk tonight. I bet I said "Ohana" in my sleep all night last night and I know that scanned disks in my sleep. It was a bad night and I am tired too.

Good thing DH doesn't know Ohana is anything (or anyone) besides a great restaurant!

Thanks again,

talk to y'all tomorrow

:( :sad1:  I just read my e-mail--- IASW is not running after 5/1---they just moved the date up with the projected re-opening still at 3/2005. :sad1:   I will just have to relive the ride with pictures of it from 1996 and sing it over and over while doing it.;)

Hey everyone! :wave2:

I'm just getting the chance to check in. Just got done talking to my brother who is coming down with his girlfriend's family this Saturday and staying through next Friday. He wants us to go to the Cinco de Mayo celebration at PI with them. Sounds fun, but I'm a workin' man and DP starts school on Seis de Mayo, so I think we're gonna have to pass. But I'm sure we'll get together a few times while they're down here. I don't know his girlfriend very well but I know she's a huge Disney fan so she's OK in my book! Actually, she may even be on the DIS...hey, it could be one of you guys! :scratchin

Thanks everyone for being so sweet and thoughtful. I really appreciate all the nice comments and thinking about me even though I had to bow out of the swap. I promise I'll participate if/when we do this again.

The job is pretty stressful and my opinion of it changes almost on a daily (sometimes hourly) basis. They brought me in to fix some problems in HR (basically as a consultant), but I'm worried that their problems are so advanced I won't be able to "save the day" like they expect me to. So I'm constantly stressed and anxious because I'm in a majorly high-profile position (which I'm not really used to). But, it is only a six-month contract, so I'm keeping my eye out for other opportunities.

On a positive note...we LOVE our apartment! We got new furniture (the first furniture I've owned that didn't have to be put together...hey look, I'm an adult!!!). We've even done a little painting. ::yes:: I'm not sure what happened but my "design gene" that "my people" are supposedly all born with suddenly and unexpectedly surfaced during all of this.

DP became quite alarmed at one point when I suggested that a particular accessory in Pier 1 (no less) would go perfectly with the color in the bedroom. I was picking out table lamps, paint colors, plants, prints for the walls...it was CRAZY! It was like I found my inner Thom Filicia (you know, from "Queer Eye")!!

ohanafamily, we'd love to meet you guys when you come down. I need to take a look at the schedule for everyone to see when everyone is going to be down. Looks like we're gonna have a busy social calendar! :teeth: And now that our apartment is pretty close to being in order, DP says we can start having company (he's very proud ::yes:: ).

Yep! That's the God's Honest truth. If you don't say y'all, you DO talk funny ::yes:: So, time to 'fess up!

QOTD: Do you talk funny?

Me--nope! Been sayin' y'all all my life! (My DS doensn't talk funny either. He's a TRUE Southerner....the word "bye" has 3 syllables while the word "hi" with only 2 letter has no less than $ syllables!!! What a good (Southern) boy!! :teeth: Makes a mama proud!! ::yes::

NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's one of only 2 things Abbie remembers! It's one of only 2 things she talks about wanting to do next week!! Where did you hear this blasphemous rumor???? You say it won't be running after 5/1....will it be running on 5/1?? That's our first day....I suppose we could ride it 10 times or so before we leave the park that day!?! I know they gotta do these things when they can, but their website has said June 6 for a long time now, and we were so happy to be getting in before that! It's just a little late to be changing the dates on this!

Just checked the WDW website calendar, and it's reporting the same thing you are. Oh no.
