Hey y'all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quickie update!

We're IN FLORIDA!!! Had an uneventful if long drive down last week. We are, however, still at the hotel and hanging out at my dad's....waiting for housing to come through. Loooonnnnng story. Details later. We looked at about 6 places yesterday.

I have already found our new pizza place.....they have a Playstation at every booth!!... My kids were in pizza heaven. Food was good too! Last night we went to Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream and you have never experienced anything quite like it if you've never been there!! It's an attraction by itself.

I'll do a complete mini-trip report of our trip down at some later date, but I just want to add that we stopped for dinner at Cracker Barrel in Lumberton, NC one night and I thought of you, creativeamanda!! Smileybug, you live in a very beautiful state....I was really enjoying SC (even if I-95 going through there is awful!!:scared:).

Mean Queen - I'm HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! (even if I'm currently homeless....:rotfl:)

.

You were at the American Pie Company next to the movies! That's a favorite of my kids too. Just avoid the middle tables, no PlayStation.

To everyone else, I talked to LegoMom today. I didn't get the full story on the home switch either, just that it was a miscommunication involving her dad. So I'm sure it'll be a good story. I'm trying to set up a meet so our kids can play Pokemon together.

TK - good luck with the house hunt. I'm not a fan of Wilderness Lodge rooms at all so I would probably hate that bathroom.

Sad story today. A little girl that went to my DD's school was shot to death in a drive-by. She was asleep in her home when some names I can't say on the DIS shot an automatic weapon into the home. Though there were 9 people in the tiny home, she was the only one that died because she slept in the front room. The poor girl's mother died 3 years ago and her dad is in Iraq. She was staying with her aunt. Police think it was retaliation against someone else in the house. A kid at DD's school said it was meant for a house down the street. DD said the little girl was in her "Reading Buddy" group, but she wasn't her reading buddy. (The 4th graders adopt a 2nd grader and read to them and play games with them.) The police had just announced they were hitting the area the child was shot hard, because it's a very high crime part of town. I hope whoever did it gets the toughest punishment possible.

That is so horrible. That poor father. I'm sorry to that your DD and her school mates are having to deal with this as well.

I do hope that LegoMom finds another home very quickly.

:rotfl:No, he likes Jr. we both do. He just doesn't like Gordon. :confused3

I know a lot of people don't like Gordon because he enunciates. At least that is what Jeff Foxworthy says.

Yay you're "home". I love Cracker Barrel too.

Mean Queen, words cannot express how horrible that is. So sad.

Oh, Mean Queen.

That's so awful. I hope you're all okay.

We didn't know the girl, but DD said her teacher started the day off crying so hard she couldn't understand her. They had grief counselors there for the kids. I hate having to comfort my daughter by explaining that it was where the girl lived that got her killed. We have some very bad areas in our city, but many more good ones. I will never understand why anyone would think it was a good idea to get back at someone by shooting off 50 rounds from a semi-automatic weapon into their home. These are the kinds of stories that lead to me leave the news business. It's just too heart breaking.

I understand how you feel, hon. :grouphug:

And that is hard to explain to a child. The closest major city to us has a horrible crime rate. I remember working with someone whose son was walking home one day through a park and got mugged for his sneakers. No joke. And this was a tall teenager, no weakling. Can you imagine?

And I don't understand what would ever posess someone to shoot blindly at something. You never know what you'll hit. That just goes to show you why I would be a very bad criminal pyschologist. :confused3

Half the time, I can't even watch the news.

... oh my....

Good mornin', guys! :goodvibes

I hope everyone has a fantastic Tuesday. I need to get ready to take DS to preschool and then I have an exciting 2 and a half hours of errand running ahead of me. I so need to make a list (did you hear that, Smileybug ;)) for WalMart, or I'm not going to remember everything. :lmao:

I got an e-mail from our agent this morning, and he has a list of the disclosures so I can call him at my convenience. I think 630am is inappropriate though, don't you? :rolleyes1

And all the listing agent has said is that they have a lot of interest.

Well of course they're going to say that regardless of whether or not they have, they want to create a sense of urgency to sell the house. A duh. :confused3

Good morning ya'll. :goodvibes Its tuesday...no, I don't have a point. :rotfl:

Have fun running your errands TK. And I really don't think its to early to call that agent. :):rolleyes1

You go girl. :thumbsup2 You let him know you want what you want. And you are not taking anything less!! :goodvibes

Actually, I hope that what I'm buying (if I'm buying) will be a lot less than what they're asking! :lmao:

We've run into a snag, at least financially. I'd planned on pulling from a Roth IRA, and unfortunately, I didn't realize until I checked it yesterday how much the value has tanked. I was hoping it would be enough to cover our down payment and still have enough money leftover to...well, have money leftover, but it's not looking so good. :confused3

If they are really motivated to sell you should be able to get a lower price.

As far as your IRA tanking...you have time to let it rebuild. We have just gone into the market more heavily. :scared1::scared1::scared1: I know... But couldn't resist the pull. Maybe we both need a . :goodvibes

...'kay...:grouphug:

I am reminded of...

Aladdin.

"AW! Group hug! Do you mind if I kiss the monkey? Ew...hairball." :lmao:

Thanks guys. :grouphug:

I'm actually looking at it from the point of what should I be investing now because the market will rebound. I'm just one of those people who hates to watch the fluctuation, and I rarely, rarely, rarely check my retirement accounts because I get very panicky, but I needed the figure for the house thing. Ah well.

So glad to see Legomom today... Glad you had a somewhat uneventful trip.

Meanqueen I hate to hear about that youngster. That is so awful.

Have fun running errands TK. And have a good one Smileybug!

Me? I'm in the doctor's office waiting. I think I have a bladder infection.

Yikes on the bladder infection! If that's it, I hope you get better soon.
