Well, this has been without a doubt one of my worst days since I began teaching/working in education 15 years ago. One of the students I have worked with for the past five years stopped breathing yesterday. She was gone before the EMTs could get to her house. If you pray, please say a prayer for this little girl's family.

OMG, I'm so sorry to hear that. I will certainly keep them in my prayers, and you as well.

Oh Amanda I'm so, so sorry. I will definitely keep them in prayer. You too.

Thanks, cheermom, TK, and Legomom. It's been a draining day. This child's mom moved her from one district to another when I moved to the district I am teaching in now, if that tells you how close I was to this family. She (the mom) tried to call me yesterday, but I turn my district cell phone off on weekends and my personal phone is unlisted. The little girl was 10. When she was born, they did not expect her to make to the age of 10.

I guess the best thing that can be said is I hope that child had 10 wonderful years. I can't even imagine what it's like to lose a child, those parents will certainly be in my thoughts.

Amanda...as the others have already posted... The little girls family and you are in my prayers.

You know, there is a book that I have been wanting to share with you. Maybe now is a good time for it. It's called "The Prayer that Changes Everything" Its by Stormie Omartian. I hope at some point you get a chance to read it. But in the mean time I hope you and your co-workers are able to comfort each other. You know we are all here for you.

I can't imagine the pain her family is going through. My thoughts are definitely with them and you.

Good morning guys. Trying to channel my inner zen here, it's shaping up to be an...interesting morning.

On the bright side, DS is feeling better.:thumbsup2

I read this book recently called A Complaint Free World. And right now, I'm taking the 21 day challenge, basically to not complain, and put a positive spin on things. (BTW, this book has totally changed my life, and that's just the simplified version.)

But since you asked, let's try to make this positive.

Today we have preschool. DS is certainly asserting his independence by being lax about eating breakfast. Perhaps this is to challenge me as to what I can figure out that the boy will eat before we leave.

This is a recurring theme on days that we have school. On Thursdays, it's extra challenging because he goes to my mom's, then to school, and she doesn't have time to get breakfast ready for him. Unfortunately, the time we leave for my mother's isn't really a natural breakfast time for him.

Why does this matter?

Every time that kid gets out of school he's STARVING!!!! :lmao: And although I'm a make your bed, lie in it kind of person, he's still four, and maybe doesn't get the whole concept. Plus we have a history of hungry people being cranky people in our family. No idea where he gets that from. :rolleyes1

In the grand scheme of life, is this a big deal?

No.

But perhaps entertaining for you all! :thumbsup2

This is pretty much how I live my life. I try real hard to be a glass half full kind of person. I've been accused of being fake. :sad2: This doesn't mean you stick your head in the sand to deal with things. It simply means you tackle them with a different perspective. And it really does make for a happier life. :goodvibes

And just so ya'll know....I'm playing around with my signature line so you will probably see it change through the day.
