I'm back or maybe you didn't notice I was gone. We had a bad snow storm Sunday night with wet heavy snow. Trees and limbs were snapping taking down power lines. I have been without power, heat and water. I have a little heat with the wood stove in the cellar. That kept the 2 rooms above it in the high 50's. The other part of the house was COLD. Driving to town and back on bad roads a few times to get water was a pain. It sure is nice to flush your toilet though. Many people down my road have generators. Those lucky people. Of course Lucky is not what I was calling them yesterday. Oh and it was 17 or 18 inches of fresh snow on top of what we already have.

Hi SadieDog...I noticed that you hadn't been around. (there was less hair to vaccum without the buicks here ) I just thought you were busy or taking a little break. Sorry you have had to endure that storm and all that seems to go with them.

Well, this has been without a doubt one of my worst days since I began teaching/working in education 15 years ago. One of the students I have worked with for the past five years stopped breathing yesterday. She was gone before the EMTs could get to her house. If you pray, please say a prayer for this little girl's family.

This is pretty much how I live my life. I try real hard to be a glass half full kind of person. I've been accused of being fake. This doesn't mean you stick your head in the sand to deal with things. It simply means you tackle them with a different perspective. And it really does make for a happier life.

TarzansKat, I have power now or I wouldn't be online. I sure was missing my computer when I didn't have electricity. Yes, I do use the Buicks for heat.

Nice, my daughter is napping with her rat. She starts dance tonight and has a little cold so she's resting up. If the cold gets bad, her asthma will kick in.

Oh yeah, the day of her interview she was puking. YUCK She is very tired lately and is fighting a cold. As long as she gets plenty of rest and doesn't go all the time, her colds usually go away fairly quickly. If she stays on the go, they get much worse and that is when her asthma bothers her. She is more stressed now with a new job and it being her Senior year. She has always required more sleep than most people. She is allergic to SO MUCH that her body is always busy fighting allergies. I wouldn't be surprised if she is allergic to her rat. Not a good idea to have that in your room with allergies and asthma.

Aw, poor kid. I can empathize. When I was a junior in high school, I got mono. Nothing will slow down an on the go kid like that, let me tell you. Ever since then, I've always really needed a lot of sleep, way more than the norm...which was quite a rude awakening when my son was born.

I need more sleep than the average person too. I am severly allergic to dust/dust mites and my body is constantly fighting hard. I can thank the dust mites for my sinus issues. I hate those nasty things. Unfortunately I have a very dusty house with the forced hot air furnace and all these bodies. Much of dust is our dander. Lovely thought. 4 people, 2 cats and 2 BIG dogs certainly don't help.

Oh, my, you are in an allergen infested environment! Do you take anything for it? I actually get allergy shots, I've been doing them for about...5-6 years now. They really have helped me a lot, I barely need my Allegra anymore.

We got confirmation that we'd get our tax returns Friday. I was playing around with dh and said, "That was a lot of work. You really ought to pay me for it, since you didn't use an accoutant this year."

He's paying me with the Deluxe Dining Package for our June trip. 24 Meal credits. How on earth am I gonna eat it all?
