How about some Crocs?

funny-pictures-red-shoes-cat-stupid.jpg

There are actually some Crocs that are nicer looking, if you can wear them. Otherwise, I think the inserts would be helpful.

First of all, LOL on the cat. Too darn cute.

I do have a pair of Crocs I haven't worn yet. I mean, they're full on Disney, so not appropriate for work, but perhaps I should try them around the house and see how the feel. I basically got them on the cheap as yuck shoes for when DS and I go traipsing through the yard.

And you're right, they do have some nicer styles.

I was going to suggest crocs. But I didn't know if this was something you could wear to work. My DD is 19 and works as a server at a local chicken wings resturant. We have had her in all kinds of shoes but she says her crocs are the best things ever. And some weekends she pulls doubles. Those shifts are 14 to 16 hours long. She feels that crocs have really saved her. :thumbsup2

TK, you can always get the Mary Jane crocs. They look a lot nicer and more work appropriate. I have a pair for days I have to be on the floor with kids, but have meetings on the same day.

Good morning!!!

What a glorious day! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the air smells wonderfully of spring!!......

No not really....it's dark and freezing and snowing but I thought I'd practice for when we move!.....:rotfl2:

I was getting ready to say...Now wait a minute, it's dark here.:lmao: Its really kind of weird. Today is supposed to be 80 but we will be back in the 50's by the weekend. I guess there is the chance of storms in there somewhere. :confused3

LegoMom and SadieDog....Are ya'll in for blizzard conditions over the next couple of days? :scared1: I sure hope not.

Wow, those are some long days! What a worker bee your daughter is. :goodvibes I'll keep the Crocs in mind, knowing that she wears them that long, they must be doing something right. :thumbsup2

You know, I have tried the Mary Jane ones before, and they just felt a little too close to my foot, and almost like they would make my foot sweaty. Do you wear socks with yours? I think I need a pair that I can easily wear socks with.

Good morning, LegoMom, Smileybug! How goes it?

Hey TK!....:wave2: Not much new here, just more packin'! DH made the excutive decision to keep the boys home today....the roads are positively awful and we didn't get so much as a 2-hr. delay. And the nearby schools that originally posted a 2-hr. delay, ended up full-on closing. It's supposed to snow all day and end up with around 6" here. The plow hasn't even been out to our road yet, and the roads are slick as snot. Not driving 'em, NOT putting 'em on a bus! (and by the way, the elementary school just now went by.....40 minutes late!!!).

Hey TK. It is going well. :goodvibes
DD only works 3 days a week. Pretty much evenings and makes good money. This restaurant has been great for working around her school schedule. Speaking of school I haven't told ya'll....She has been accepted into the Radiology program.   They only accept 29 new students at a time.

I can't believe they didn't do a delay. I mean, I understand you're all inundated with snow a lot up there, but that just seems a wee bit ridiculous! :sad2:

That's great for her to have a job that will work around her schedule.

And congrats on the Radiology program! :yay:

Thank you much. :goodvibes We are pretty excited about it. She loves math and science so this will be great for her. She had a science teacher in high school tell her she really needed to be n the medical field. She wanted nothing to do with it. So we are very happy she finally decided on radiology. She has played around with a few other fields. Hubby and I were starting to wonder if we were going to have a professional student on our hands. :rotfl: I have a feeling this will just be a stepping off point for her. So who knows..... :goodvibes

Good morning cheermom. And thank you!!! :goodvibes She is very pleased. :thumbsup2

I'm having a tough time getting myself motivated today. I have the 4th load of laundry in the washer now so I guess that is a good start. :thumbsup2

Instead of cutting it down have you thought about adding tile, stone or decorative molding to it? Just a thought. :confused3

yes but it WAY too wide. this thing is the biggest mantel i have ever seen in my life. it is so big that we thought about putting it up over the pass way between our living room and kitchen which is 5 foot wide we only need it to be like 3 foot. it would take up almost the whole wall. :headache:

Ours is almost 6 ft wide and then we have black slate on the inside of it. The firebox itself is 3 ft wide. If that helps you to visual it. But instead of black slate you could use anything. But I wanted a big mantel around the fireplace.

I would love for it to be that big but our living room is just too small. we have a small bungalow only 1100 sq ft. but we managed to get 4 bedrooms out of that. I don't know I might relook at it who knows :confused3 thanks

You need to take your room size into consideration. I'm sorry I didn't ask you that. :goodvibes You don't want your fireplace to be the only thinkg you see when you walk into that room. You want it to be a nice focal point. :thumbsup2
