I have a confession--I've never seen Rocky Horror. They played it like a million times in college, but I never went.

Oh man, I would have loved the chance to go see it somewhere. The only place I have seen it is on tv. :lmao:

I don't know why, but it never really appealed to me. I guess to each his own. A friend of mine quotes it all the time and I just stare at her blankly because I have no idea what she's talking about.

'stare at her blankly' that's funny

Not much to do in a boring small town. You need to take the chance to go out while you can. :rotfl2: That's a big part of me thinking 'could have gone somewhere and didn't' Hard for me to comprehend. :rotfl2:

...you....must...be.....staring......at....ME!
[...I have that effect on a LOT of people!]

Good morning, babnanas!

I love Rocky Horror. More than anyone really should, I think. I actually remember being in Jelly Rolls on the Boardwalk one time with my Mom and doing the Time Warp there with all the waiters and waitresses. Good times. :lmao:

I finally got my act together and got some yarn for the baby blanket. I'm really excited about the pattern. For those of you who crochet, I'm using one of those speed hooks, which is a really big hook, and it works up really fast. I love the colors I picked too, I'll post a picture when I finish if you want.

I also have a blanket in the works that I'd intended to use as a Christmas gift, but I think I'm going to give it to my DS. That way, blanket for baby, blanket for DS. Already trying to keep things equal. ;)

Congrats on getting it together for the blanket, TK! I have one to embroider for my neice who just foind out she is having a boy.

I went to see Rocky Horror just about every weekend from my Junior year of high school until I went to college.

Amanda - it looks like we'll just miss each other. I'll be at Chef Mickey's in the morning and you'll be there that night. We aren't planning on doing very many parks this weekend. I heard Lee, the new American Idol, will be doing his parade Monday at the MK. Kris Allen is supposed to be there on Saturday, not sure which park.

LOL, it's a good thing I'm avoiding the MK that day--it's sure to be crowded.

I have been on the Disney web site pricing out various packages (just to get a ballpark figure of how much this is going to cost). It is A.MA.ZING how much more this trip will cost vs. our last one, with all 5 of us considered "adults!!"....:scared1: Wow. DS8 will be just days shy of his 10th birthday, but I'm putting him on as an adult anyway, mostly for DDP purposes because he hates having to order off the kids' menu.

I think we're going to have to make some choices, like if we want to go for 10 days, we'll do a less fancy resort, and the QSDP. If everyone votes for doing more stuff, then we'll shorten the stay, pick a mod, and do the regular DDP.

That, and pray for some really, really great discounts!!:rotfl2:

When are you planning on going? I tell so many people that if you plan it right, and really check out the special offers and be flexible with your dates / resort your willing to stay at..it's more affordable than most people think.... Like anything else, though I suppose it depends on peoples perception of what's expensive. Honestly, I priced out a week at the Jersey Shore, and for a decent house near the beach, plus beach passes, and food / entertainment, food, boardwalk and more food, and games etc it was cheaper for me to take my family to Disney for 8 days. And the entertainment value is much more significant, plus it's Florida not new Jersey. I know I'm a little biased towards Disney. I suppose the point I'm getting at is, if you're willing to be flexible, and it sounds like you are, then you can make disney work within your budget.
CREATIVEAMANDA..
Monday is our Epcot/Animal Kingdom day. Our reservations for Chef Mickey's is that night before the AK EMH. My son has already informed me that we WILL be up at HS early Sunday morning for Star Wars weekend. He really only wants to see the storm troopers and the 11:15 parade, but he's convinced we have to be there real early.

Have a wonderful trip,,, Enjoy the storm troopers, can;t wait to hear all about it.

Good Friday morning to all of you great people.

TK, I'd like to see a pic of the blanket when you are done.

creativeamanda, hope the trip is wonderful.

......

I am looking at going the week right after Thanksgiving in 2011. It's Value season, and since it's officially celebrating DH's and my 20th anniversary, I was wanting to do things a bit special. There are 5 of us, so our lodging options are limited. I really like doing a Disney package because of the ability to pay it off over time, and having everything paid for ahead of time. I can probably do it cheaper by piecing things together, but I hate, hate, hate having to budget out for food!! At any rate, our last trip we were 3 "adults" and 2 kids, stayed at POR for 8 nights and were on Free Dining.....I think the package was in the neighborhood of $2,500. For the next trip, I've priced out options at the Poly (def. the most $$), the FW Cabins, and 2 rooms at POFQ - 10 nights, 6-day Park Hoppers and the QS Dining Plan - and it's coming out around $6,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIKES! Now granted, that is rack rate with no discount applied whatsoever. 2011 rates aren't out yet, and any discounts for that time of year likely won't show up until a year from this September, but still....You can imagine my shock at that price as compared to the last trip!

Where's the TF? :rotfl:

We ask that a lot around here, and yet, so many gems remain non-tags...

Mornin' SadieDog! Hope you have a great Friday! Any special plans for the long weekend? Not much here. Pretty much working around the house, and hanging by the pool tomorrow, when we're supposed to reach 95 degrees!

LegoMom, OMG :scared1: $6,000! That wouldn't work for my budget. I'd have to change something. Good luck.

We usually go camping this weekend, but we are home. We planned on working on the piece of land that is up for sale, but we have an offer and waiting to see what happend with that. It will be at least a month before we know anything. The lady wants to see if she can get permits to build on a different spat than we soil tested for. That will take time. Maybe we will work at our camp. Tons to do there. My son is going camping with one of my brothers and his daughter. I would like to go for a day visit tomorrow, but don't know if my husband will be on board. I know my mother would like to do that as well. My son will be at the campsite alone most of the day tomorrow b/c my brother and his daughter are leaving to attend a funeral. It's a state park that will be busting with people. He won't be alone in the middle of the woods somewhere. I wouldn't go for that.

...

It doesn't work for mine, either!!:rotfl2: I mean, we'll be paying for this mostly out of our tax refund, but still.... I really didn't want to spend quite that much!

If we had a better vehicle and a bigger camper, I'd be all over staying at Fort Wilderness at a campsite!! That's by far the least expensive way to do Disney, and plus we enjoy camping and you just can't beat The Fort. I think that would be a fantastic way to spend 10 days! I could do a lot of our own food, and then just have to budget for one meal out while in the parks, and maybe a character meal or two. Very do-able.

Hmm...this may require more research....
