Ok, not sure if you are serious or not when you say you don't get it, but here goes.

When a person is at say an AA meeting, when they get up to speak they say...

"Hi, my name is 'Jim' and I'm an alcoholic."

The others at the meeting all respond at the same time with...
"Hi Jim"

oooohhhh...:rotfl: no I really didn't get it LOL :goodvibes Thanks:thumbsup2 :)

Good morning good people.

Cloudy, breezy and looks like rain. ICK

Thursday we took Dega in the woods to run for the 1st time in a month. She is finally all healed from her hernia surgery. I am very thankful she didn't need the 2nd surgery that would have cost thousands. Don't know where that would have come from. Oh and I found 8 ticks on me! NASTY

Mornin' SadieDog! That's great news about Dega! I'll bet she loved being back out in the woods! Eeww on the ticks....we've got 'em here too. DS8 pulled one off himself yesterday....

Rain here this morning but we really need it. Had some strong storms last evening, then a few more earlier today. Now it's raining steadily. I have to go out and see how wet the chicken coop is....:headache: We need to fix the roof so we've had a huge tarp over the whole thing for the last month+. Then it was getting very hot around here so we pulled it back so air could circulate better. After last evening's storm, it was damp along the front edge. This morning it's probably good and soaked. They have plenty of area to go and stay dry, it just means I've got a bunch of sloppy shavings to shovel out later.

Meanwhile, my goats have the good sense to go into the shed to stay dry, and my dog does not. She actually has TWO dog houses in the back yard, but yet she walks around the back yard, soaking wet and looking pathetic (don't worry it's quite warm so she's fine!).

I have to venture to town for groceries so I'm hoping the road didn't wash out anywhere!!

Hope y'all have a great day!

.

LegoMom, you must have gotten a good amount of rain to wonder if the road washed out. Hope the chicken coop isn't too much of a pain to fix.

We noticed our neighbor down the road now has 2 goats. They were 'talking' to us when we walked Dega by the other day. Boy did she want to go make friends with them. :lmao: She had never heard a goat before so she was quite interested. I'll have to take Hendrick by to see what he thinks. He was at our camp with my daughter and friends when we were walking Dega otherwise he would have been with us too.

Hey, Nanners! :banana::banana::banana:

That's the little guy I'm breaking out because my blood pressure was more normal when I got checked on Friday. So, for now, I am cleared to work and continue on in a TK like fashion. For those of who don't know what that is, picture this pirate:, a little more feminine, but sadly, minus the rum.

Blame the pregnant belly for the lack of rum. Sad state of affairs.

Anyway, I'm going to get checked again on Tuesday (I have a feeling they'll check me every week now, which is fine), and we'll just take it from there. :thumbsup2

Hmph. . .I want some rum.

I didn't put this on Facebook, because I have many co-workers including supervisors on FB. . .

The district released 20 certified teachers last week from contracts for the following year. Every person of retirement age was called to a meeting (not including the 20 certified released) and told they would not receive a contract, but would be rehired at a 32% paycut if and only if they could not find a replacement (ie--a 1st year teacher with only a bachelor's degree). My principal was one of the ones called into the meeting Thursday afternoon. His position has already been filled.

Tomorrow is his 65th birthday. We had a surprise party for him yesterday and it was very difficult for me not to cry through the whole thing. He leaned over to me and said, "Don't you start." In my 15 years teaching I have never respected any person supervising me more than I respect him. The replacement for him is a good principal, and she's the second person I would want to work for in the district. But the second is no where near as good as the first.

In all, 18 people in my school alone did not get a contract yesterday. When the dust settles, I think almost 50 people overall were told they would not have a job next year or that they would be in jeopardy.

I lost 10 days from my 210 day contract, but that is not even the foremost problem in my mind. I'd gladly lose 30 days if it saved my principal's job.

I'm sorry, it's been a hard week. Tears are brimming over right now and I don't even want to stop them.

On the bright side, at least I received a contract. Unlike other years when I held onto it until the last day, yesterday when the secretary handed it to me, I signed it and handed it directly back to her.

creativeamanda, that is sad. :sad2: Those poor people who lost thier jobs and at 65 after being such a good principal. :sad1:

I know a music teacher in Mississippi who is getting married in a couple weeks who just found out her contract will not be renewed--I am sooo sorry for you all.

Good morning!

amanda - SO sorry for all that's going on there....:sad2: Like kimmar said, wow. Just wow. Hang in there, you have that trip coming up to be your light at the end of the tunnel!

kimmar - I count 11 kittens.:)

becca - HI!! Glad you're still alive and kickin'!:rotfl:

Hope everyone has a good day! We're less than 3 weeks from summer camp starting here so I'm going to be busy....gotta find time to start the TR!!!:headache: Still working on uploading pics but I think I have what I need to at least do the first chapter.

...I just found out that my DS's Italian II teacher will not be returning - she has tenure, but they decided to take the Italian program out of the curriculum, so she's 'toast'...:sad2:

There's no such thing as a safe career anymore. I'm glad I got a contract. But my paycheck is being paid with stimulus money and that runs out at the end of next school year. I'm trying not to worry about it.

It's hard not to do. . .

Think positive, and stay positive about next year's contract, and things will work out..........in the mean time, drink RUM! In our state, you have to buy your liquor from a "state" store... so that's a way to stimulate the economy. :thumbsup2:
