It's official. I **hate** Branch Banking and Trust Company (ie BB&T). I took the day off today. When I went to the post office this am, our state of SC tax returns were in the mailbox. So I went to BB&T to deposit the check. Because we live in NC, and the check is a return from SC, the bank told us there would be an 11-day hold for the check. They said they have to put a hold on out of state checks.

Now I understand this logic, but:
1. It's a state tax return. Do they think it won't be honored?
2. We have way more than enough money in the bank to cover.
3. We have 4 accounts with this bank--checking, savings, mortgage, and car. We've been dealing with this bank and branch for 10 years.
4. The SC state line is 5 miles from the bank and if I'm the only customer to come in with an SC tax return (she said I was the first one), I'll eat kimmar's shoe.

The teller that I was dealing with and I have a history and I think she was just sticking all the rules to me (her husband actually stole equipment that belonged to my father when Daddy died because it was left on their property that Daddy was paying rental on--I filed charges).

Either way, I had to drive all the way to Florence to the State Credit Union to put the money in our vacation savings account, only to have to transfer the money from the savings account to the BB&T account tomorrow to make our yearly extra mortgage payment and pay our property taxes.

I hate BB&T. Did I mention I don't use this account? I have a separate Wachovia checking account because I hate them so much. What's more, last year I went to the bank to deposit my Christmas bonus into dh's savings account (I had depleted it buying Christmas presents) and they refused to let me deposit my check into his account, even though I was there. They would let me CASH the check ($6 fee) and then deposit the cash.

Maybe we should be shopping for another bank. . .

Oh, and Smileybug--get better soon. I get migraines often. Usually about the time "Aunt Flo" comes to visit.

creativeamanda - It's time for another bank.::yes:: I know it can be a real hassle changing things over, but I just don't put up with that type of service. There are too many other banks out there!

Ok y'all, I went and changed my ticker. Because of ONE day. Can you say OCD?!!....:rotfl:

Thanks for the support. I just wish I could get dh to agree. One of his friends' wives works at that branch. Where was Beth when I needed her today?!?

PSST. . .Legomom--I changed my ticker because of one day, as well. Don't feel bad.

Smiley, I hope your headache goes away soon!

Amanda, as a bank teller, I have to tell you, that's a bit ridiculous. It's definitely time to start shopping for a new bank. Where, I work, all our holds are based on routing numbers. A local routing number is a 1 day hold, non local is 2 days. Sometimes, rarely, for large amounts, exception holds get placed in the back office when they think someone won't make good, but that's more rare. The only difference is that we don't count Saturday as a business day, so if you make a deposit of a non local check on Saturday, you're not getting those funds until Wednesday. That's a source of contention for our customers, but I think sometimes they don't realize how lenient our holds are compared to other banks.

I have rather exciting news! I'm an auntie again. My SIL gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on March 2nd in the wee hours of the morning. She was 7 lbs 8 oz, and 20 1/4 inches long. I can't wait to see her, but I'm avoiding them right now since DS and I are both sick.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. I think my body is starting to retaliate against winter.

LegoMom and creativeamanda....I would have to change my ticker for one day as well. :thumbsup2 Can't mess with a Disney trip you know. :goodvibes

TK...CONGRATULATIONS on the new little princess:!!!!! :cloud9:

I know how you feel. Fortunately, spring is around the corner. One of my friends pointed out we'll be changing the clocks soon, so that was really exciting to me! :thumbsup2

Thank you! I can't wait to meet her, when I'm not so diseased.

creativeamanda.... I heard on the news earlier today that there is consideration to shorten the school week to 4 days. Have you heard anything about this?

IWBTLD, that sort of thing is never easy.

Becca--I'm sorry. It's tough, but I promise you can get through it. Will be thinking of you today.

...best I can offer is: follow your own mantra (look at yer siggie quote - ;) )...tomrrow WILL be better...

It's a song cliche, but true, breaking up is hard to do. You'll be okay. It'll be awkward for a while, but tomorrow will be a better day!

Becca....

thanks guys :grouphug:

it wasn't too terrible, this morning when he walked in i got a (as i understood it) almost upset/regretful look... and after school i was barely there so no biggie.

is it mean to say i feel soooo much better though? i feel like it makes me sound heartless but i couldn't keep it as it was anymore...

*sigh* oh well; another day another... how's that go?

TK, how exciting, a new baby girl!

creativeamanda, how FRUSTRATING :sad2:

Hon, you're not mean, you're realistic.

TK, how exciting, a new baby girl!

Thanks!

Well, guys, DS and I are still sick. I only worked 6 hours today but it may as well have been 60 for how tired I feel. I am so shot. I'm seriously considering asking my doctor to run bloodwork on me the next time I go in. I'm just so exhausted I'm wondering if I have an iron deficiency or if something else is making me so shot. I know I'm sick...and I know I'm pregnant, but this just doesn't feel normal.

Anyway, my SIL and her new baby were due to come home today, but when they were getting ready to leave the hospital it was discovered that the baby has some kind of infection in her mouth, so they're keeping them to run tests and everything.

If anyone is the praying kind, if you'd keep them in your thoughts it'd be much appreciated. I don't know much more at this time, I'm hoping it's a precaution more than anything else, and my husband is on his way to visit them right now. I felt with DS and I being so sick that we didn't want to give them our germs, and we don't need to be walking into a hospital with lots of other germs right now. Fortunatley my DH is not sick so he can visit, but I'm thinking we may have to hose him down with antibactieral spray when he gets home. ;)

Anyway, that's all from the TK homestead right now. Hope Thursday treated y'all good.
