I'm the weird one here. My 2nd was much longer.

Baby #1 5 1/2 hours labor. No drugs. Water broke and contractions started at less than 10 minutes apart. It was an intense 5 1/5 hours.

Baby #2 slow 24 hours. No drugs. Started with contractions 30-40 minutes apart. Slow progress and they had to break my water.

2 completely different experiences.

Aww I can't wait to have kids!

:scared1:....Yes. Yes you can. ENJOY your freedom!!!!!!!!!!!!

:rotfl2:...j/k, of course....I love my boys and as a matter of fact I am missing the younger two TERRIBLY this week while they're at camp!!

I got me some catchin' up to do. Just wanted to say hi ya'll, but I gotta run now. Hey, just wonderin' if Dukes is so good, then how come we can't find it in our neck of the woods... Ha... can I get it on e-bay?? What's the best thing you ever got off e-bay..? if anything? My DH is crazy.. once he bought a BASS drum.... ya know the big ones that they wear in marching band. The BIG ones... Don't ask!! :confused3 but the darn thing came in a file cabinet box. When it arrived, I called to ask him what he was buying a file cabinet for, and he said it's not a file. It cost a mini fortune to ship, I was like, WHAT were you thinking??? I cut him off e-bay for a while. but I still love him.

I like Miracle Whip. The only Dukes I've ever heard of were from Hazzard County.

HOWDY!!!

:flower3:

Doody.

Son #1 = 26....hours...of....labor.:headache:

Son #2 = 2 hours of labor.....

Son #3 = 50 minutes of "labor"!!!

So, just sayin'......:rolleyes1

DD- They induced me about 5 pm. At 8 pm after no contractions, Dr. came in and said that he had one lady about ready to push and after she was done they were going to do a c-section. DD was born at 9:15 pm.

Wow. Wow. and Wow.

My pregnancies were great, until it got to the end. Then it just went all kinds of wonky.

Daughter 1 - no labor, planned c-section 1 week early(she was breech with the cord wrapped around her neck)
Daughter 2 - no labor - emergency c-section 6 weeks early because I developed HELLP (blood pressure went out of control and started shutting down my organs.)

I will now live vicariously through the pregnancies of others. :thumbsup2 As should Anna for now. ;)

SMILEY - I saw that place when we were in Pigeon Forge last New Years. It looked very cool. Our friends shopped there and loved it. But we had to take the little one back to the lodge for a nap so I missed out.

 I know I know. I just went through a terrible break up and while i'm grateful that we didn't have kids or anything I can't help thinking at least then I would have gotten something good out of the relationship

For pete's sake, woman! I guess the labor gods felt bad for you after the first go round and decided to make life a lot easier after that!

YOu have been talkative while I was at work. We have a new principal. She's great, but things are just different.

:thumbsup2

Sweetie--8 hours after planned induction
Stinky--the doctor almost did not make it there--I was told to push and then stop

Don't you just love that? I remember with DS, I was at the very end, and they told me, stop pushing, the doc's not here yet. I think that was the only time I got a little frustrated during the whole process. I'm almost positive I said, "Excuse me? Stop pushing???" :lmao:

Boo--I threatened the doctor not to leave--15 minutes labor.

WOW!

TK... I remember those last few weeks, and being anxious and most of me wanted it over, but another part kept thinking, this is special, so don't end too soon.. You know just like a trip to Disney, you can't wait for it to start, but don't want it to be over.

I know it's special, but I'm so done. It's been wonderful, I've enjoyed the fact that I'm carrying a little life, but I'm just ready. :goodvibes

You know, if you're thinking about bringing baby to the park when he's 3 months... that's probably a good time... they are soooo easy at that point, as long as they aren't colicky... they sleep through anything, formula is easy, they don't try to get down out of the stroller and run off yet. you'll have more energy by then too. Oh.. and they're still in diapers, so it's easy with that too.

Right now it just depends on what kind of a baby he is and whether or not DH can get the time off from work. I won't take the baby for the first time without him.

Speaking of.... my DS is done with potty training... he was sooooo easy, I don't even think we went through a whole pack of pull ups... he just started and knew what he had to do. He's been wearing underwear all day for the last week now!! ( with the exception of diapers over night...he's had no accidents!..:thumbsup2) Knock on wood! I think the fact that the pull ups had toy story on them, and I told him he didn't want Buzz's space ship to disappear helped too. I'm excited. He's gonna be 3 in January, so I wasn't thinking he would be trained just yet. I am worried about our trip in Sept though, cause if we're out of our routine, I hope he doesn't have accidents, diapers would have been easier. :confused3

I'm so happy for you that it went so easily! :goodvibes

Agreed!

DD#1. 14 hrs labor nice, epidural, no problem, what's the big deal?:hippie:
DD#2. 2 hrs labor... missed window of opportunity for epidural.:scared1:
DS#1. 1 hr labor.... made it to hospital and had to push.:headache:
DS#4. 1 1/2 hr labor... begged for the epidural.. got it, but it was too late. I still felt everything. but worth every second;) Not trying to scare ya though... chances are, it will go faster.

Wow. It's amazing to me how many of you had the shorter and shorter windows with the subsequent kiddos.

I didn't use formular so I always had a fresh supply of milk. :lmao:

Wow! Any particular reason for the c-section or just the overall lack of contractions?

One of my girlfriends had a similar experience, but with her second. He was breech, and she tried everything you've ever heard of to get that baby to move, but he was not budging. They ended up doing a c-section and he was over 10 lbs.

Pregnancy induced hypertension is a scary thing.

My sister in law's (husband's sister) husband's brother (everyone follow that LOL) was expecting a baby boy with his girlfriend. She wasn't due until after me, towards the end of the summer, beginning of September, I believe, something like that.

She went to the doctor recently and the doctor told her, your blood pressure is high, you need to go on bed rest. They (my SIL and fam) told her about me, my first pregnancy, how I got put on bed rest, yadda yadda. The girlfriend didn't want to listen. Didn't believe the doctor, I'm fine, I can do whatever.

She ended up in the hospital and they had to deliver the baby early. He was only three pounds. All I can say is THANK GOD they're both doing alright. She got so lucky.

 I know I know. I just went through a terrible break up and while i'm grateful that we didn't have kids or anything I can't help thinking at least then I would have gotten something good out of the relationship

Sorry to hear that, hon.

With my DS, I started having some pretty consistent back pain the day before I went to the hospital, but nothing to really count, so to speak.

The next day was Monday, I was scheduled to be induced on Wednesday. I went to the doctor's office to get checked out one last time, and it ended up that I was 4 cm dilated and 100% effaced.

I have to be honest, I didn't "feel" the contractions until the doctor did the internal exam and stirred things up, so to speak. And I was very lucky, they weren't that bothersome. We went to the hospital (had everything packed just in case), and got there around 1230 pm. They made the decision to break my water and start a little pitosin around 5cm just to speed things along, which was fine by me. Around 7cm I couldn't breathe through my contractions anymore, so I got an epidural which was lovely. :cloud9:

DS was born in about eight hours. I felt really blessed. The labor seemed relatively "easy" compared to the horror stories a lot of women like to tell, so I was very grateful. :goodvibes

TK, here's to another relatively easy birth. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I'm not big on baseball.....

And even I have to say how sorry I am for the Yankees this week. :sad2:

Mean Queen....What was Pigeon Forge like for the holidays? My brother and his children/grandchildren are going Dec. 26th - Jan. 1st. They have a large 3 story cabin rented. I hope everything is decked out in all of its holiday glory. They wanted to go to Disney that week. But I am glad they changed their mind. I have always heard that is a bad, bad week to be in Disney.

That's about the time we were there last year. It was very pretty and for this Floridian, very cold. There was a little snow. We rented a 3 story cabin with another family. I think they'll have a great time.
