Luckily this pill is smaller than his last pills in January when he got into another fight from this stray cat. Hmmm, I have not tried peanut butter. Will have to keep that in mind. Usually the 1st 5 days go ok, then he starts putting up the fights. He will hold that pill in his mouth a long time, refusing to swallow no matter how much rubbing. I also have to cover his body with a towel so the claws don't "touch" me.

The things we do for our babies. Hope you get the pill down with limited scratches.

Mine just licks the peanut butter off my finger and thinks it is just me being sweet and nice and sharing some people food for a change. She doesn't get that I could be doping her up good.

Woah, can we switch cats at pill time? ;) That would be so much more pleasant.

My dogs take pills like that too... but my almost 12 year old son... THAT is another story. YOU HAVE TO HOLD HIM DOWN AND FIGHT HIM TO GET HIM TO SWALLOW IT:scared1:

My daughter used to be VERY difficult to get to swallow a pill too. Thankfully that has changed.

Thanks all for the welcome!! :goodvibes

I decided to take a break and check in. DDs are homeschooled and have decided that this morning would be a good time to forget every single bit of math we've ever done! :rotfl: It was getting to the point where I kept expecting someone to ask what a number was so, decided to give everyone a short break and try again in a few...

Keep your fingers crossed please; promising to be a very long day :rolleyes1

Hi GlendaO!
Don't you love that??! We homeschool too (currently DS11, next year also DS8). Sometimes you want to pull your hair out!! :rotfl: Do you school year-round? We don't and I'm getting ready to schedule our evaluation and quite frankly, I'm ready for summer vacation! He's a great kid but oh so challenging....

How's everyone else? We have another gorgeous day here in NH! (imagine that!!....:rotfl2: ). DH and his friend are hard at work up on the roof. I have household chores that need doing, but the deck is also calling my name so we'll see who wins...:rolleyes1

I am considering home schooling my children next year if need be. Long, long story but basically my children go to a public charter in another county as our county school are not good... then there was an embezzlement and issues and cuts and I am not sure what type of school it will now be for the youngest who struggles and the oldest will not be able to go next year as they cannot add his new grade.

So out of all of that, I really wanted to know if you use a certain program or do you create your own home school experience?
:scared1:

I will PM you a bit later (I'm about to head out to do errands) because it will be a loooong reply!! ;) In a nutshell, we use a prescribed curriculum because I, as the mom/teacher, need the structure. It also helps me keep track of their work, as I am required by my state to keep a portfolio of their work and have them tested or evaluated each year. There are some who "wing it" and do their own thing, but I think you need to be either very comfortable with that sort of schedule, and/or live in a state with little or no requirements.

Maybe GlendaO can offer some insight as well! But be forewarned, you will get as many "ways" to homeschool as there are people who do it!! Every family is unique.

Happy to PM as well. But, it's really true; there are many, many ways to homeschool. I have planning issues with pretty much everything so I map out everything I plan on doing in July. There are some really great programs in a variety of price ranges out there. I'll be glad to forward info to you.

You also need to find out what your state requirements are. LegoMom3 is in NH, I'm in SC and both states are slightly different in regards to what the parent needs to do in order to legally homeschool.

It's a challenge some days (today!! :rotfl: ) but well worth it for us. :goodvibes

Well, at least it's over :cool1:

We actually had a much more productive day after I took the DS from each of them -- that's Nintendo DS and not their sons!!:rotfl2:

So, thinking now might be a good time to head outside with DH. We're in SC and sometime in the next couple of weeks we'll zoom straight to hot!

Hey ya'll. Like Metro West I'm just popping in to say HEY!! I also have the perfect solution for giving meds to pets. (and unruly children) Have hubby do it!! Works every time!! I've not been scratched or bitten even once!! :thumbsup2 :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hello to all! I'm getting ready to put the kids to bed and watch Idol. Though I don't think they're going to want to be put to bed this early.

Awwww, go ahead and do it anyway. Sometimes a mom has to do what a mom has to do. Besides tonight is a big night on Idol!!

Thank you both. I will look forward to your PM's. I am looking towards a program like you were talking about. I need someone else to give me what needs to be done etc. Both are so far apart in school that it will not be an easy task as I still have to work as well but sometimes from home and they can go to the office with me if need be and also stay home alone as oldest is 16.

It is such a huge step but I feel like I have been backed into a corner and have no choice.
