Does POR supply irons and ironing boards in the rooms? I can never pack with out something getting wrinkled. I hate wearing wrinkled clothes.

Mean Queen....I hope you do enjoy your day off. :thumbsup2

creativeamanda....I am truly excited about POR.

Mean Queen, you really hit the nail on the head when you said, "once you stay in Disney...." I changed my ressie this morning. We will be arriving at POR on Nov. 28th. We are going to use that afternoon to look around the resort and go to Downtown Disney. :thumbsup2 I think that will give us the best chance of relaxing. Especially since this is a short trip. :goodvibes

Oh heaven.... I could walk the grounds all day and not get tired of it! Make sure you walk to FQ and get some Beignets at the food court. Also, take the boat ride to DTD! It's really nice. If you head over there later in the day and can go at least one way in the dark, it's quite pretty with all the lights on the lake. If you want something romantic to do, there's a horse-drawn carriage ride around the resort at night.

Yes, POR has irons and boards in the room.

It's POURING here this morning. My Internet is giving me fits (satellite). Ugh. We sure did cool down, though! Yesterday was up around 90 and right now it's barely 70.

We will probably get there around 1:00/2:00pm. I just don't know what to do about lunch. Should we eat before going into Disney? Then do the "check in thing" and go explore? (Check in day is a Saturday) I like your idea of a night time boat ride. I will have to find out what time the boat stops running. Any little tidbits ya'll have advice on....please throw them my way. Seems like there is always something new to discover.

Are you driving?? If you want to save a few bucks, then eating prior to arrival might be best. A great place for a bite at DTD is Earl of Sandwich! We love it there. The boats run well into the night (at least midnight). It will be posted at the dock, anyway.

Both FQ and Riverside have a hot tub, but you might like the one at FQ better...it's away from the main pool and set in the trees and rather private. Oh, and I've never been to the lounge at POR but there's supposed to be a piano player there who is just fantastic! And you don't have to be "in" the lounge if that's not your thing; there's lots of seating in the area where you can just plop down and listen.

Smiley--I think the boat runs up to an hour after the restaurants close in DTD, so no worries.

If you want to eat on site, the Make-your-own pasta at POR is awesome!

Ya'll are making me miss POR. I think I'll have to take a bus from a park over there and just walk around to remind myself of home in December. . .

And SHAY--Heat in December?!? I guess I'll keep out the capris and the t-shirts. That way, I'll be comfortable enough. Maybe 1-2 pairs of shorts. . .I was planning on jeans, t-shirts, and hoodies and carrying my heavy coat for the night.

Good Friday Morning, everyone!

Anna--we really don't want to know what the armadillo is stuffed with.

I just realized today I have less than 70 days to go! I really need to get myself in gear! I have to finish putting away our summer clothes tonight!

:rotfl:

Less than 70 days!

Morning all! I have the day off. I'm getting my hair done and relaxing.

Smiley - sorry about your weeks turning into blobs.

Anna - I used to stay at the DTD area hotels. Once I stayed onsite, I never wanted to go back. There's just something so magical about the Disney themed resorts.

Have a nice, relaxing, me day :)
I actually don't even remember seeing hotels near DTD. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention? :confused3

I'm starting to get a little nervous about our chances of getting ADR's. I can't use the online system for a few more days but i'm worried that somehow it's not going to work! Are we still allowed to call and make reservations ahead of the 90 days?

Well, last Christmas I wore shorts and a t-shirt during the day. I was hoping this would be a cooler year, but we're having record highs. A pair or two of capris would be a good idea. But you'll be able to check the weather before you go. I just didn't want you to pack away all your t-shirts, just in case.

Thanks for the tidbits on POR!! :goodvibes

Mean Queen, from what I have heard, the south is supposed to be a bit cooler (in laymans terms.....hot.) than average this winter. But the rest of ya'll better look out.

See, you make me want a ticker so I'll know just how many days for us. But I'll have to give up the fall thingy from kimmar. A ticker doesn't fit with the rest of the stuff.

It's hot here today. 92 right now. By midweek they are calling for temps back in the low 70's (daytime) and 50's (night time) That's my kind of weather. :thumbsup2

Pfff Kimmar will never notice! *peeks over shoulder* ;)

You know--I am really hoping for the low 40s, high 70s in December. Don't know why except I learned the hard way that late June can be miserable at times.

I told y'all that monkeys were creepy!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1:

Good morning ya'll. :goodvibes

At 7:00am it was 80 degrees, foggy and muggy. But at least it saturday. :thumbsup2

55 and overcast at 8:00am here! It is supposed to clear out soon, though, and be sunny and mid-70s today. We have a busy weekend of doing stuff around here. We had one group at camp last night - an Aggie group (from Texas A&M) who left early this morning. There's a BIG game today against Oklahoma. It's all the buzz around here so apparently they're a big rival. Anyway, that gives DH a 3-day weekend! We want to finish the last bit of house painting and then work on cleaning up the apartment so it's ready for my dad's visit in 2 weeks!

Happy Saturday y'all!

The last time we had a very inactive hurricane season, we had a very cold winter. But I thought I remembered it cooling off early too. I am actually hoping for a cooler season this year. Just these high temps and really humid weather are making me lose hope.

Good Saturday afternoon. We just got back from the recreation field, where Danny's team lost, but at least they scored twice and he got a tackle in.

Boo is finished with cheerleading. I'm tired of having to fight with her. Apparently sports just aren't her thing.

I have laundry and Disney planning to do. . .

Shay, I am hoping for a cooler Christmas--I think it would feel strange with all the lights and not having a cup of hot cocoa in my hand to warm me up. I can't believe I'll be there in 68 days. No kids. No husband. No one telling me where to go, what to do, or anything. If I decide in the morning I want to go to Animal Kingdom instead, I can park hop for the meal I have planned for lunch.

Had to add the ticker ya'll. Just had to. :rotfl:

I hope you are all enjoying your day. Its been raining here. No surprise there. Not with how humid it was this mornng.

Good afternoon everyone.

Smiley, that's so exciting about your trip.

LegoMom, congrats on the horse. I can't wait to see pics of him. I am also looking forward to hearing your choice of Lord of The Rings name. I have 2 cats named after LOTR. I also had a foster kitten I adopted who died and his name was Smeagol. He had huge blue eyes when he was tiny. He had to grow into his eyes. :rotfl2:

That's so cool! (not that he died....but the rest!). We have a cat named Pippin. He has HUGE furry feet, like a hobbit, and since he's part Scottish Fold, we picked Pippin because the Scottish actor Billy Boyd played that part in the movies. I'm leaning toward Theoden for the horse....it rolls nicely, and of course he was King of Rohan, land of the horse-lords.

Smileybug
- LOVE the ticker!:thumbsup2

.

Thanks ya'll. I actually giggled when I saw it.

LegoMom....I like that name.....sounds regal.

SadieDog....is winter showing itself to you yet? (I hope not.)
