Saw this on Today this morning...I could see this coming out of one of those fringe organizations that run these weird ads, but a national party?

I think it's pretty tasteless, but then again what in politics is?

And to clarify before I get the righties jumping down my back, I'm positive just as tacky ads come out of the DNC....but this one is pretty awful.

"I'm Karl Rove, and I approved this message"

On a seperate note, good luck on today's NJ court decision!

I just watched it again. To be honest I thought it was less offensive than the Kean and Menedez ads I've been muting for the last month.

Tacky, yes. Systemic? No. Exclusive to Republicans? No.

I'm not a "righty" or a "lefty"...I'm a "middle-y". But 2 things jump out at me about your post.

1. Your characterization of the Republican Party as "righties". Kind of condescending, don't you think? And, as most political posts are, boom! Right to the partisan thing...right vs. left.

2. The fact that, while you're sure that tacky ads come from the Democratic Party too, the one you chose to post was a Republican one.

This tells me:
1. You are a Democrat...or a "lefty" if we continue on with the use of your "terms of endearment".

2. You're trying to give your post some credibility by saying that you are sure the Democratic party has tacky ads too, which didn't work...at least not for those of us smart enough to figure out your ulterior motive which is to paint the Republican Party in a bad light.

I'm done now...that's already more thinking that I wanted to do about anything political, I am so sick of politics and elections right now.

Regards...

Well I'm really glad you are "smart enough to see my ulterior motive." :rolleyes1

Personally, I find both national parties to be pretty useless. That said, yes I'll be voting for Democrats to maybe get some accountability in Washington. 12 years of R control hasn't done much IMO.

If it makes you feel any better, I'll rummage through youtube to find an equally tacky and pointless ad that the DNC put out to appease you and counter this "ulterior motive" I have. I just don't have the time at work right now. But when I get home I sure will.

About the righties and lefties...I think you're nitpicking and being a bit too PC.

I think it's hilarious!

Actually, I did too! "Canada can take care of North Korea. They're not busy!"

They're running scared in Tennessee and just about everywhere. Desperate times calls for desperate measures. There's a strong wiff of racism in part of the ad. It's disgusting. The Republican candidate has asked the Rep. National Committee to stop the ad by they refuse. Hmmmmmmmm. Blech!

A VERY STRONG wiff of racism. I would say that I'm surprised that the RNC would sponsor something so totally racist, but the truth is I'm not.

I thought the ad was kind of funny in parts. But I'm registered "No Party" can could do without either of them and enjoy anything making fun of either party most of the time.

But what, pray tell, was the overtly racist part(s)? I didn't pick up on any racism, but then, when I watched it I hadn't had any coffee yet and wasn't fully awake... :)

Are we looking at the same ad???

I thought it was a totally stupid ad, insulting to anyone's intelligence. I have had it with the Republican Party (as well as the Democratic party, I mean really, are they that different?). It's time for a real third party.

Proves my theory that THEY ARE ALL LIARS!!!! They'll say whatever will keep them in power.
