Tacky ad by RNC

A VERY STRONG wiff of racism. I would say that I'm surprised that the RNC would sponsor something so totally racist, but the truth is I'm not.

Where is there racism? I just got done watching the thing twice and while the ad was tacky, yet funny, I didn't see anything offensive. Wow, talk about looking for something that isn't there. I'm sorry to say that it's accusations like this that are feed the current P/C culture we live in. Just because he happens to be Black doesn't mean he's off limits from political criticism. In fact if you didn't know who Harrold Ford was you would never know he happens to be Black. They never even mention it during the ad! I'm sorry, your post doesn't pass the smell test on this one. Why does race have to factor into everything? He's a regular man with faults like the rest of us, who also happens to be a politician. Color has nothing to do with it.

As for the ad, I love the hunter saying Harrold is right, he does have too many guns. :rotfl2: The Canada dealing with NK is pretty funny as well. I would have never seen this ad if it wasn't for NewJersey, thanks for the laugh this morning! :thumbsup2

I thought it was a totally stupid ad, insulting to anyone's intelligence. I have had it with the Republican Party (as well as the Democratic party, I mean really, are they that different?). It's time for a real third party.

I agree and it's been needed for a long time comming. A legitimate 3rd party that would cater to those who feel excluded from certain sections of both major parties, would be welcomed in my book. I'm conservative on some issues but feel I don't have a voice in the Republican party. The current leadership of the Democrat party doesn't appeal to me at all, so in a nut shell, I have no party to call home. A strong 3rd party would be welcomed in my book.

Me too. I have no home in either party, and I really have grown to dislike both of them and their tactics.

Yes, I found it tasteless for a campaign ad BUT I do think it is humorous. Perhaps a better venue would be The Man Show or Saturday Night Live :confused3 I also found it a little too humorous for the righties :teeth:

Still waiting for someone to point out the "WHIFF" of racism in the ad.

Ask yourself what the playboy woman is doing in the ad...

The pathetic thing is that people are going to let it influence their vote. If we are too stupid to let that ad tell us who to vote for, we deserve what we get.

No point in giving details. There are people here who would poo-poo that a guy in black face is racist if was done by the right party.

I didn't see racism in the ad. Then someone mentioned that the guy they're going after is black...still don't see the racism.

And don't get what Playboy bunnies have to do with it.

Will you - or anyone - please spell it out for those of us who don't get it?

What? Someone Puh-leeze explain what is racist about the add!

If I get it, I'll be all with you on the racism fight, but I'm seriously not seeing it.

Well, no they won't.....because they can't and then they would have to admit they were wrong. ;)

It's a matter of interpretation so you'll never get agreement.

Well how about lets just say it's outrageously offensive if we don't want to say racist.

God forbid we should judge a candidate on the issues or how smart he is. Nooooo we want to vote for the funny guy. :sad2:

I agree that the commercial is tacky (and I see it on TV regularly), but there is no racism in it at all.

The Playboy bunny part is probably countering one of Harold Ford's first commercials (in this particular race) that was filmed in a church where he talked about growing up in church and those values being a part of who he is. After it started airing, the opponent came out with the commercial about his attending Playboy lingerie parties. I don't know whether he did or not, but that's probably what that part of the commercial is about.

Huh? She's being a HO! I thought you guys are ok with that kinda stuff?

I didn't (until recently) know who this guy was nor that he was black. Who give a rats behind?

I wish there was a way to arrest someone who ran a sleazy, mud slinging ad like that.

"Whiff" implies a small smell that sometimes alludes some people. It's slight, small, some people will smell it, some won't. After all if it were a stench we wouldn't be questioning it, now would we?

Just HOW blatant does it have to be to have a blonde bimbo asking a Black man to call her in the South to make implications that will follow someone to the voting booth. Not blatant at all. This ridiculous fear is still prevalent in my part of town on both sides of the wall. And this is not a national vote, this is only in Tennessee, and they know who and what Harold Ford is.

And don't think for a second they didn't consider that. We are NOT stupid, though some of us would like to act like we are.

It's just enough to makes the usual suspects say "where do you see that" and "show me"... it's not a "show me" thing. It's a slick "whiff"... remember the h, please.

It's also in my sister's jurisdiction and believe me, it's not a whiff there, it's a stench.

As I understand it (via news reports), the opponent has asked the RNC to stop running the add, but it is still running. In fact, it ran in the same news report that talked about it.

What if it's true? It still doesn't matter IMO (I've been to the playboy mansion).

If you look at most political ads, one says something about the other and visa versa. One of them is lying. The trick is to determine which one.
