T-Day Cruisers 2011, November 19-26th, 2011

Yikes our thread slipped to page three! We are getting closer people. Cruise will be here before you know it. In just a couple of days we are going to be able to say we cruise "NEXT MONTH!"

Aaaah! I better get working on my kid FE gifts. I have the adult ones ordered but I need to get going on stuff for the kids. Do we have an estimated head count on kids (boys/girls) and adults?

As an FYI on that head count, my understanding is that it may change in the next few days, but not sure yet....Florida resident or other promotions may be coming soon, but nothing confirmed...that said, there are quite a few cabins still available.

Thanks for the info Chuck. I was thinking we weren't full.

Just thought I would share some news. My DD's tennis team just won regional finals. On to State finals next week.:thumbsup2

Congrats! Good luck at State.

So what hotel should we pick for the night before? I would like to stay parked there too.

I saw someone say no to Country Inns & Suites. I had another screen open and was about to book it when I read this thread.

Many people really like the Country Inn and Suites. However, both Chuck and Mason found the beds to be very uncomfortable and refuse to ever stay there again. Our favorite hotel is the Residence Inn. However, based on price we either stay at the Radisson or the Hampton Inn most of the time. We have left our car at the Radisson a few times in a pretty secure lot.

We are staying at SSR Friday night, but are planning to leave our car at the Radisson for this trip. Glad to hear at least one other family has used them. How often do they run their shuttles from the hotel to the terminal?

When we took the shuttle, we opted for the first shuttle of the morning. I am not sure how often they ran after that, but it seemed like a pretty quick turn around from what I saw at the port. Maybe every 1/2 hour?

Thanks. If we leave SSR at 10, we should be there in time for their 11:30 shuttle. Perfect.

Better check with the hotel....that 1/2 hour may be hourly and generally you need to reserve you spot in advance....obviously, the early spots fill up fastest, though you are probably good doing it this early.

Just officially made our reservation with the hotel for parking - they confirmed the shuttle leaves every half hour. One more thing checked off on my list of things to do.:woohoo:

Hey Folks! We are cruising NEXT MONTH!!!!!!!

I know we are super excited too! We have been all smiles here @ our house. We have also started our countdown Disney Weekends until the cruise. This weekends show was Mary Poppins! Love that movie!

We are staying @ the radison the night before and will be leaving our car there. Also, we plan on taking the shuttle. When I booked the hotel, they said to book the shuttle when we arrive and that we couldn't do it in advance. :confused3 Last time we did, so we will see.. I might try to call next week to see if they will let us book the shuttle. Sometimes when you speak to a different person, you get a different answer.

My DD's tennis team just won regional finals. On to State finals next week.

Congrats! That is really great!! Best of luck!!!

Off to go Apple Picking! Rain has finally let up long enough to go!

I can't believe the cruise is getting so close! We went up to Disney this weekend and got excited when we realized we'd be taking that Port Canaveral exit in just a month and a half. Not that we weren't excited to be at Disney, but the cruise isn't something we can do every weekend if we wanted like Disney.

We will be in the parking lot just before 11am and paying the extra 15 bucks since the Port just raised the rate to $120 for the week, but we will be staying at the Hampton the night before which does not have the shuttle, though we likely would not bother anyway, just personal preference...we have used the Radisson's shuttle before and it was fine.

Going to know in a few days if some friends are joining this cruise or an alternative one.

We booked our reservation online and got a confirmation almost immediately. But that could be a difference as we aren't staying there.

How was your apple picking? I took my 2 youngest on Saturday in our wind and rain, and had a great time. :cool1: Now I just need to core and peel them all for apple crisp and cake. Yumm (too bad we're not allowed to bring homemade food items on the ship - would love to share)

I just want to confirm that we are now closing the group. I am making some homemade items and need a final count. last I checked we had 15 families/cabins and 30 kids? is this correct? and I believe out of the children 16 were girls?

can anyone confirm? thank you!! We are looking forward to it! We are flying in from Pennsylvania Friday evening and spending the night at the Animal Kingdom villas. Our plan is for a leisurely morning (breakfast at Boma--my favorite!!) before heading down to the ship for an early afternoon embarkation. Should we plan a little meet and greet for the families that evening? or the first day at sea? maybe for lunch?
