System error and DVC holding booking

I was unable to book my room at AKL today as it required points from several use years and there was a systems glitch according to the agent I spoke with. They told me my reservation was secure and would be held for me, but it is still not showing. I am new to DVC. Should I feel confident that I really will get the value room I think I booked?
 
Only the name of the agent. The system would not allow any multi-year point use bookings to be made. I was told it was an across the board systen error affecting everyone who was trying to use points either banked or borrowed plus the current use year. I am nervous that things will get mixed up as she told me I got the last value room.
 
The same thing happened to me this weekend, when I tried to book a reseravtion with borrowed points. I had to wait and call in; the system did the borrowing but would not let me use those points to book after I got back into retry. The online system was also, saying that my intended reservation was not available for booking when I got back in but when I called a hour or so later it was available for the CM to book for me.
 

On hold right now with the same issue...it is even trickier for me b/c I am borrowing and my reservation crosses over two use years. She warned me they were having trouble and is getting a supervisor now. She did reassure me the reservation would be held..not sure what that means. Since I am booking for Thanksgiving weekend I would like this confirmed before I hang up. :confused3
 
I called back today and was assured that the days were indeed mine but currently being held by Disney for me under their account number until the technical issue is resolved. I am assuming this is being done for others caught in the glitch. I am nervous to book my flights on points however until the days are officially listed under my name and reservation number.
 
I am thinking there are other issues also I can't add a dining plan to my reservation it keeps giving postal code errors for the billing address, and then if I just use the address on file it gives some other error
 
I had the same "crossing use yrs" issue this morning. I was trying to book nov 30 - dec 7 standard studio and it was telling me I had to borrow points. I had plenty of points. By 9 oclock two days were gone. I called MS and at first she asked if I wanted to book lake view. I asked for a supervisor. I got the same story, they have the days, it will take awhile. It's only been two hrs, but am a bit nervous.

Crossing UY's can not be booked online. You have to book 2 separate reservations online, then contact MS to have them modify the reservations.

Another reason to buy a UY based on preferred vacation times IMO.

In the past, the website would say that it couldn't be done. Today there was nothing mentioned online. It only told me that I needed to borrow points. I don't know what would have happened if I had ok to borrow. Would it have blocked it some other way???

Speaking with MS, it almost makes it sound like they are trying to work around it, so it won't be a problem in the future.

As far as buying DVC, yea, there are a few things I would have done different, but didn't know.

You're not alone. There was much about Disney and DVC that we didn't know and we made some costly mistakes. That's why I try to tell it like it is to help the people contemplating a DVC purchase.

I had a reservation and all of the points associated with it disappear from my DVC account one year when member services was trying to modify the names of the guests. They assured me that they had the reservation and it was safely in a DVC account and it would be given back to me as soon as Disney IT could fix the "glitch". It was really scary that we were due to check in for the reservation in less than a week and the reservation was not available to be rebooked.

DVC was true to their word. The reservation was put back in my account in a few days. All was well with our trip and my points were eventually corrected to the amount they were supposed to be.

Have faith - I'm sure everything will work out OK!

Good to know, but still feel a little nervous. CM said it wouldn't show up right away, but I wasn't thinking it might take a few days.
 
Over 2 days later and still no reservation on MDE. I had called later in the day Mon about something else and he saw my points for my reservation were being held and had asked me about it. There was no notes on what was going on. The original CM told me I would NOT receive an email when it was taken care of..just to check MDE. When I saw it in there I could then call MS and add my family's information, DDP, etc. I am a little upset that it is still not done. I better not lose the reservation they claim is being held for me. Now I have to wait until Fri to call and touch base. :headache:

Sorry that this is happening and we shouldn't put up with it just because we love Disney.

MS caused us to loose a AKV Club Level reservation a few years ago and didn't seem to care. That was just another DVC/Disney reality check for us. :sad2:

Still nothing showing up for me either. How many days does it usually take to fix a computer glitch anyway?
 
I am still waiting for confirmation so I can book my flights on points. Hope it won't be much longer.
 
Just spoke with Chat. She said my dates are still being held and there are still challenges with the booking.
 
I had this problem once (a modified reservation not showing up). they had it noted, room was being held for me, it was going to IT, blah blah blah. Worked out just fine.

Now, I added a night with one time points in march( to a holding points reservation). Same thing. Not in the system. told I have the room. Same situation. Of course it is not on MDE, and I can not make any fast passes.
