Here goes. I have two kids DD6 and DS2. I know im gonna need a stroller for DS, but DD can walk. DH wants to take the ginormous double jogger we have and I was thinking about taking the smaller stroller we have. The jogger is way better to push around with the kids in it, but the smaller one would be way easier to get on and off the buses. Which would you take???

Smaller! the smaller the better and easier to get on and off everything, and maneuver thru crowds and stores.

whatever one your child is more comfortable in. I have a Baby Jogger that I use for disney because it is so easy for getting the little one out of and collapsed. I also like mine because my almost 8 year old fits in it if she is tired.

Are you positive that your older child will not get tired and want to ride? If so go with the smaller, smaller is always better. However if you think the older one will want to ride too than take the jogger. If anything you could fill the second seat with your gear.

I think our most miserable day at Disney was the day we decided not to take a stroller for my oldest. She was fine as long as she could get in the stroller and rest. What a whiney mess when she had to walk. It was worth the trouble getting on and off the buses to have her comfortable.

A lot of kids age 6 need a stroller at Disney.

When my DD was 6 we took her for the first time and after about 2 or 3 hours she was miserable. She wanted to leave and was not having any fun at all. We talked about getting a stroller and when she begged for it we got one. After that she was an entirely different kid. She started having the fun that we had planned for.

I would suggest a double stroller unless your kids will take turns riding. That might be difficult with a 2yo though.

My kids are 7, 5 & 4 and we still use a double jogger for our Disney trips. (Actually we rent from orlandostrollerrentals.com -- best ever!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2) DS4 still needs the stroller on a regular basis but there have been many times the two older kids are fighting to get in the stroller because of all the walking/heat/exhaustion. I suggest taking the one they would both be most comfortable in.

I would take the double stroller, so both kids can ride. When we went last year we only took a single stroller because DS6 should have been ok to walk the whole time and DS2 would need a stroller. Wow were we wrong, we missed most of the World Showcase because it just wasn't worth dragging a hot tired cranky 6 year old though it, or at times he rode and we tried to have our then less that 2 year old walk. It was not a great situation, we all got cranky. This year we are renting the double jogger from Orlando Stroller Rental. It seemed crazy at first renting for a 7 year old, but if it means I get too see all of the different places at Epcot it will be worth it. I am a little nervous about how big it is when folded down on the busses, but keeping my fingers crossed that I wont get any dirty looks for having a big stroller.

It's a wonderful stroller! If I needed one on a regular basis I would have purchased one when I got home! (self admitted stroller obsession:blush:)
I was able to maneuver the double on the buses last year by my self. It's really not bad at all & folds like a dream!

For your DD6 I would ask do you ever put her in the stroller now? If yes then take the bigger one. If not, then the smaller the better.

My DS was 6 when we went; he never goes in the stroller at home - in fact I got rid of the last one shortly before we left. We never even thought about bringing or renting a stroller and he never asked to be in one. Despite all the walking he never once complained about being tired - but we did go back to the hotel for a mid afternoon rest and we did take frequent rest breaks in between rides - stopping once an hour to have a drink and to sit on a bench for 5-10 minutes.

We watched more people struggle with strollers on the busses, etc. and the bigger the stroller the more they struggled.

Ive taken the stroller twice before. I know how crazy it can be getting on and off the bus with it. And my 6 yr old does NOT ride a stroller now...but neither does my 2 yr old. As a matter of fact, he walked around tweetsie railroad (granted I know its not 1/2 the size of disney) and didnt ask to be picked up or anything. On the other hand, took my 6 yr old to a flea market and she aggervated me to death to go home or sit down and rest the whole 2 hours we were there!!! UGH. I guess we'll take the truck and take BOTH strollers and see which way works for us!!! BLAH!

I'll be bringing a Mac Volo for my 6 year old (who has used a stroller at Disneyland only for the last couple years) could you bring a side by side double umbella stroller (perhaps borrow one) that be a lot easier than the double jogger ~ or perhaps 2 single strollers - you've got 2 adults right???

A couple of day of walking the park and YOU"LL want to ride in a stroller! Bring the big one I'd be shocked if the 6 year old won't be begging to ride.

How crazy is it to take a jogger double stroller onto the buses? Do they let you put them under the bus or do you have to keep it on the bus with you?

Does the jogger have a pivotting front wheel? If you cant turn on a dime, dont bring it.

I was thinking this same thing, my double stroller(graco) is ENORMOUS and 2 single umbrellas are not an option for me, since we will be doing a lot of "babyswapping" with mt DD14 at the bigger rides. I thought I saw clips once to clip 2 singles together, but I am not sure DD1 will be comfy in an umberella stroller since it doesn't recline???

sorry to have Hi-Jacked your post...

Some of the drivers look at you like you are nuts when you have a big stroller. Mine is an InStep Safari II stroller. I love it. But you can go in the back of the bus where they load the wheel chairs and its easier. but you still have to deal with the masses who look at you like if the stroller so much as touches their leg they will go off on you. :scared1: (i always thought, "your at disney, there are going to be strollers, get over it" but never said anything) I just stood by the back door with the stroller as close to the door as possible to keep it away from people. I am going to take it cause DH thinks its better than the smaller one and DD6 will definately want to ride.

YES!!! It has the pivotting front wheel. wonderful. Just very hard to push the more weight you put in it. My DS2 is only 33lbs but DD6 is about 60lbs. so we're looking at 93lbs Im pushing around. But if it keeps the peace, Im willing.

I dont like umbrella strollers. just a personal preference. I have a delux umbrella stroller but DD cant fit in it cause she is too big. IT lays back but I dont think DS cares for it. So it just sits there....LOL. DH and I bought the double jogger in 2006 for our trip to Disney when DS was 3 months and DD was turning 4. Used it every year since. Reason I was thinking about taking the smaller one is because Im the one who has to lug it on and off the buses. But I guess its an even trade since DH has BOTH kids to handle.....:rotfl:
